Very good camera with extreme zoom lens.
This camera has a lot of features for the money. The lens is sharp. Camera has only a 12 megapixels. A lot of today's cameras are in the 20 range. The trade off that this camera offers a high quality, extreme zoom lens . The camera is a little bit on the heavy side, but them again, I think that is because Panasonic put a lot into this camera.

Great zoom and convenient size.
This camera has an excellent optical zoom range along with a viewfinder (good screen too). It is compact and not heavy. The only drawbacks are that the battery must be charged while in the camera and the image size is not very high. However with the excellent zoom capacity, the subject matter can still retain a reasonable amount of detail.

Quality compact
The size and point and shoot Image of this camera doesn't do it the justice it deserves. I was looking for a pocket camera, but also wanted zoom and a quality lens and image. This camera fits the bill. I am impressed with the flexibility, the file quality and the automatic, creative and manual options. Great package for a geat price.

Great performance in low light with just a few negatives
Take some great pics. Much better than many other in low light because it combines multiple pics into one. Zoom works very good. Controls are a bit to easy to change so you need to be careful that you didn't change by accident. Unfortunately the case looks good it feels cheap, just too much light weight plastic.

Best Camera I've Ever Had
I'm thrilled with this camera. It's remarkably well-designed and approachable, yet loaded with easy to find and access options that bring together the best of point-and-shoot, manual, and custom settings. It's lightweight. The grip is perfect. The Leica lens exceeds my expectations. I just love it.

Good pictures but camera has a short lifespan
Had to send camera back under warrantie once and now the camera has died again. Panasonic says average repair cost $181.50. Plus tax and shipping. I don't think I want to tie $200.00 up in a repair that they will guarantee for 90 days. I had other digital with Leica pence and newer had a problem.

All good.
The camera is performing well to date. Would recommend it as a cheaper option than purchasing the newer camera. Our old Lumix camera, 3-4years old , which this one replaced, got sand in the lens while travelling in Morocco when we were in a sand storm in the desert and the zoom stopped working.

Excellant Camera!.....Poor Owners Manual
This camera rock. It does everything you want a camera to do, and more. Unfortunately, the supporting documentation on how to do everything is the worst. I'm having to Google everything I need to know about operating the different features. Would have been 5 stars with a decent owners manual.

Great for travel
I bought this for a trip to Africa and specifically wanted something easy to carry on hikes and fit into limited luggage space, but that would also have a good zoom for taking decent photos of wildlife. This camera worked well on both counts. I also liked the look of the camera itself.

Lumix ZS50 is a great camera for travel and hiking
Although I use my Nikon D7100 for much work, I like to carry the Lumix ZS50 when traveling. It takes great video and the photos are excellent. I use various settings, depending on the image. The iA setting is better for longer telephoto. Using Photoshop, I get very good images.

okay camera
camera was used on a trip. the battery life is extremely short. It is a nice camera for point and shot. the more the zoom is used the quicker the battery goes down. Battery is charged while in the camera so difficult to charge additional batteries while using the camera.

the best point and shoot camera i have ever owned or2 used
I use the camera every day. works as advertised the auto switch from led display to view finder is fantastic especially in bright sun wherre seeing the subject can be poor to non exitant. This camera does it beautifully. 30 optical zoom and 60 digital zoom? OUtrageous

Great camera!
Only cons is that the software is laggy sometimes and and battery dies pretty quickly especially when shooting videos.. Overall a great travel camera. Quality of photos and videos is excellent when you have a good source of light. Tends to struggle in low light tho.

Black Monitor
In August I had a problem with a black monitor which I also had with a previous camera (same model). It has not been solved. In September, I could not use the viewfinder but have since solved the problem. The viewfinder is the main reason why I bought this camera.

Great bargain
I bought this to carry around when a DSLR is not convenient. I know the shutter lag is there but not as bad as most compacts and phones. The only real drawback is that the case does not have a belt loop or clip. I will resolve that with a strap and rivets.

Just as expected
Due to the rainy weather since I had this camera, I did not get as much time with it as I hoped. I wanted it for the view finder and that has worked great and also for the zoom. With a tripod, I was blown away at the clarity of an object at full zoom.

Excelent travel camera
This is a wonderful travel camera. I did a 2 weeks travel vacations to Germany with it without any problem. I was impressed with its Zoom capabilities. My only convern was having the video start/stop button too close to the power off/on button.

My 4th Panasonic DMC ZS__, but...
I must request a return authorization; and it's rare for me The images were tested using my Spyder LensCal at a variety of focal lengths. I'll probably buy another Panasonic but with more resolution. ZS60 or ZS100 when they are available.

great camera!
I use this camera almost daily and while biking, hiking, skiing etc. It is a great camera, and the pictures are truly high quality. I love the 30x zoom. It is a great improvement over the ZS45 model. I recommend it quite unconditionally.

Great point-and-shoot camera with fabulous zoom capability.
Bought this camera to carry with me on bike rides, as it's not feasible to lug my large Canon 50D along. Great resolution with the factory-install Leica lens, special effects capability and fabulous 30x zoom. Very satisfied I bought it.

A compact with outstanding feautures
I bought this for my wife, and the day to day baby pics. I picked this camera because of the great Leica optics... even thou its a compact it has a great zoom. Very handy, light. Electronic View Finder has a small lag, but works great.

So Far So Good
This is my 2nd Lumix camera. This one has a ton of new features...problem will be to remember how to use them. Love the slo-mo movie feature! My other Lumix camera broke after about 4 years...hope this one last longer.
