Great footage at a great price!
I assume most people are purchasing this camera to shoot 4k on a budget. If thats the case this is a great camera. The footage looks great and the camera is easy to shoot with. I have two of these cameras and for the price and what I film, I can't complain too much. For still photography I would buy Nikon but as far as 4k video these are great. A major design flaw to me is having the battery and card slot on the bottom of the camera. If I have th... Show More

I love it
I bought it as a replacement for my DMC-G5 camera that turned up to be the camera that I have been taking with me more often than any DSLR that I own. So far the camera seems to work nicely. It is taking a little bit to get used to the different control buttons layout, which is slightly different than what I am used to with my other Lumix Cameras (GX1 and G5) but it is not much of a problem. I own several lenses and other accessories which work r... Show More

Great Camera!
I just recently started to study film at college. It quickly became apparent that to get ahead and advance I would have to get better equipment. So after study, I decided on the G7. It has been about a month and a half since my purchase I am a very pleased. The 4K is something that really caught my eye. The kit lens is great to start with, but I will be upgrading. A favorite feature are the two dials that adjust the Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, ... Show More

Great Beginner Camera With Potential For Pro Results
SUCH a good camera! Very happy with it. 4K is amazing, 60fps at 1080p is amazing as well. Takes much better pictures than I though it would. Very easy to use. I do wish it had a headphone and mic jack but that's okay. 14 - 140 lens is another great piece. The stabilization is awesome. The photos are crisp in daylight, I would use the Panasonic 25mm f 1.7 for low light. It gets a little less crisp full zoomed but still great. The camera is great o... Show More

A Great Starter Video Camera
I've been a Nikon shooter for a while now, and have been shooting stills professionally for about a year now, but I wanted to dabble in some video, more for fun, and noticed the Lumix Dmc-G7 on sale for an insane price, so I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad I bought it! No, it's not amazing, so it shouldn't be compared to the a7s, but the video quality is pretty great, however, 60fps in 4k would've been nice, but again, for the price, ... Show More

Exceeds expectations!
As someone trying to convert to lighter gear as I get older, I've found the m4/3rds format to be a good compromise. However, until the G7, none of my M43 gear gave a decent keeper rate for continuous AF of sports. Admittedly, I don't have a G4, but I do have an Oly E-P5 and E-M5 Mark ii. Great cameras, but they don't come close to the continuous AF keeper rate of the G7, and that is with the Pany 14-140 on the Pany compared to even my Oly 12-40 f... Show More

Great Camera
I originally purchased the Lumix GX8 to replace my G6 - I thought I would like the form factor of the rangefinder, as I had a GF2. Although the GX8 did a lot of things well, it was a bit to big for me to take out with me on mountain bike rides and on hikes. I decided to forgo the weather sealing in favor of this camera. I really liked the size and ended up purchasing a fanny pack made for smaller cameras that worked perfectly. I think the 14-140 ... Show More

What a Steal...
I do video, but til now never purchased a DSLR as much of what I do is more Run - Gun. But with the advancement with stabilization etc for video, and the option to change lenses, decided it was time to dive in. 4K video in a Lumix, for $$$? Wow, there was nothing to consider. Got it on sale and wish I had bought 2. My only complaint is no headphones jack, but I knew that going in from my research. But for b-roll/slider, you don't really need the ... Show More

Light Weight, Full Featured, But Complex
A lot about this camera depends upon your route here. If you are considering a point and shoot and are looking at this as a step up, then you are probably better served by getting the point and shoot. Getting this camera and keeping it on auto-everything is major overkill. On the other hand, if you have a a full frame Nikon kit and want something to grab and go for trips with the family, then this is it. If you come to this from Nikon or Canon DS... Show More

A wonderful camera for the starting consumer
I haven't done photography with an SLR for 15-ish years with older film cams. For me, it was too much to take notes about what I did for which take and then wait for the film to develop to see the results. With digital and continuous preview, it's a lot easier to really get to know the camera in the moment and feel things out. This camera impresses me with its low light performance, and does just as nice video. The kit lens is okay for just getti... Show More

Having had my old Canon DSLR gather dust but still having the yearning to take pics. I decided that this small capable camera would be just the ticket. IT has some ideal features for a carry about, never miss a shot, do just about anything camera. It is small, light and versatile. Went to a street photography workshop by Matt Stuart in LA and some features about this camera make it ideal. The 4K burst modes are stupendous for street and wildlife ... Show More

Small powerful package
This camera is fantastic. I have only had it 10 days but this might be the best camera I've ever used in over 20 years of production experience. It's got everything you really need for video production, peaking, zebras, fast auto focus, big sensor, plenty of lens options. It's small, light and easy use. If the saying the best camera is the one you have with you is true, this is the best camera because it can so easily travel with you. The video o... Show More

Great intro to Mirrorless
I had shot with dslr'some up until I got this camera. I had heard about mirrorless, and the translucent mirrors the Sony cameras have. Decided to pull the trigger on this one after much research, and when I friend told me he had the GH4 and really liked panasonic. I loved it so much I instantly bought another one. I shoot short marketing videos for different social media platforms. This camera works great for me, it light weight, and durable. I d... Show More

Not ideal for Indie Filmmakers and video enthusiast
This would be a very great replacement to the Canon Ti series for independent film makers for its 4K feature and price. However, Panasonic had made the camera's HDMI so that it cannot be used for monitoring and recording. That makes this camera ineffective for recording using other codecs (like ProRes and DNxHD). If only they provide clean HDMI out even at HD 10-bit 4.2.2, this could have been an awesome cameras for indie filmmakers who are using... Show More

Underrated and awesome
I really wasn't sure what to expect from the G7. I gave it a pass when it first came out and now i'm regretting that. This is an extremely capable camera, has great controls, features, and overall is one of my favorite cameras to take around with me. I love having the touch screen although the interface is a bit cluttered and could be better enhanced for touch. Quality for video is top notch and photos are still great. Best still shot and video camera combined
I was going on a trip to Ecuador. I did not want to lug my Canon Rebel T1 DSLR. My Sony HD camcorder was getting dated. I found that the G7 combines the best elements of video and photography in one camera. Thus, think of the one-time price as a long-term solution to having to carry both a video camera and a heavy DSLR. I think the entire camera and my extra 45-150 Lumix mirrorless zoom with a tripod and a mount weigh no more than 5 lbs. It is ve... Show More

Beautiful Camera
This camera is one of the best cameras I have worked with, hands down. It's compact, lightweight and is easy to vlog with but still good enough to shoot pro grade footage. My only gripes with it are: the kit lens is pretty slow, so if you want a shallow depth of field you'll need an extra lens; The in built color profiles leave me lacking and means I have to grade my vlog footage (which i don't usually like doing) and the neck strap mounts on the... Great so far
I'm new to this level of camera so I'm doing my learning on it and so far it's been great. I do highly recommend the 14-140 lens. You get 10x optical zoom and I do find myself using it all frequently. Like anything this complicated I've had to rely on web videos to help me learn it but if you make google your friend there's plenty of resources out there. Can't recommend this enough for beginner video and B-cam
I haven't had a ton of time to play around with my new G7, as my current project is tied to a different camera, but so far it's already proven more valuable than the price tag. The video is unbelievable and the photos have been coming out crisp with accurate colors. The kit lens is seriously one of the best of any camera you'll get your mitts on, but when paired with older glass (I like ROKKORs a lot), the G7 really shines. Although very small, t... Show More

Sold my a6000 and picked up a G7 (for a great price) and I couldn't be happier. I mostly use vintage glass, but man am I consistently surprised by this kit lens. It's sharp, compact, and the stabilization works very well. The biggest thing I was afraid of with the switch to MFT was loss of quality for photos. I have owned many digital cameras, and even some film cameras. Yes, I am that old. I have to say that the G7 is the best bang for the buck out of all of them. Amazing image quality, and stunning video. The 4K video alone is worth the price of admission. Add to that a very capable still camera, and it is a solid package.
