The best bang for buck on the market - a video perspective.
This camera is an extremely powerful tool for shooting gorgeous, gradable, professional videos. While all of the bells & whistles of this camera are great it's important to keep in perspective what kind of content will be created using this tool. I work at the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning at Western Kentucky University where we produce a number of different types of video content. Green screen work, interviews, guest speakers, on-loc... Show More

Solid update
Solid update to the already amazing GH4, 4K 60p looks great, 10 bits works nice for grading and the low light performance its improved. I'm happy.

Solid Upgrade for my m4/3rds System
I've been learning and using my GH5 for a couple weeks now and I am very impressed. I am a long time Olympus owner, the GH5 is the first m4/3rds Lumix Camera I have purchased. I have become more open to mixing video in with my still photos and this camera's advanced 4K options are the very best. Still photo quality is also excellent, including JPEG OOC photos. If you are considering this or the E-M1II, I would without hesitation recommend you purchase the GH5 unless ultra high speed phase detection C-AF is your priority over all other considerations.

Get it.
Was going to get an A7sII as a C cam but ordered this instead. Quite a learning curve coming from Canon Cinema cameras but a few days of fidgeting and tests has me pretty comfortable with it.The image is amazing. I've shot in all the formats and qualities and everyone beats the Sony. VLog is so CLEAN compared to Slog as well. CONVERT TO PRORES if you want to even attempt to edit your footage!Lots of assignable buttons (placed well too) are a huge... Show More

Best Bang for your buck!
Although I bought this with the intent to use it for videography, because of its video capabilities, I was pleasantly surprised at the stills the camera is capable of producing. The noise is minimal even for a MFT sensor. Definitely a run and gun camera or probably the best overall camera. If your intent is capturing video, but want to be able to take excellent stills, you should consider this camera. It may not take 50mp stills, but it'll take r... Show More

Big Issues with 10-bit 4k footage crashing all NLEs
Got my GH5 yesterday and took it out for some test footage shooting 4k 10-bit 24fps and when I brought the footage onto my work station it wouldn't play through any video player (VLC, ect). Bringing it into Premiere Pro 2017 it crashed the program at different stages of trying to play and work with the footage in the timeline. This is now a known problem with every GH5 user (if you don't believe me then google it). Overall the camera looks and fe... Show More

Price is insane
I'm reposting the comment because when it was one start it wasn't posted to the site. Buy this overseas for $2,022 (shipping included) and I got the Lecia lens B&H is selling for an additional $600 included with the camera. Saved so much money by not dealing with B&H

You won't be able to quit smiling! Outstanding Camera!
This camera when paired with the Leica 12-60mm f2.8-f4 lens is an amazing combination! The five axis stabilization in the camera works amazingly well with the stabilization with this lens allowing for smooth walking without the need of any other stabilization! I'm talking rock steady like are you kidding me? This is unheard of until now! The auto focus for video works very well but it's important to watch youtube videos to learn how to set it up ... Great stills camera too
We all know by know the video capabilities of this camera, what is a pleasant surprise is the pics. I have a Canon 6D and you couldn't tell which camera I used. The one issue I have so far is the 10 bit recording. For some reason the footage keeps crashing in FCPX and Adobe Premier, hopefully an update will come soon.

Defective LVF
LVF was defective right out of the box. When flipped out and rotated forward the image would appear upside down. The sensor that determines screen orientation was faulty. If you shook the camera a little in this position the screen would flip upside down and right side up. I felt it was important to let others know, as this might not be something you test for right away. Hoping it's not a systemic problem. Everything else seemed pretty nice. Amazed how solid it felt in the hand. Look forward to getting a replacement and giving a more robust review.

Great upgrade from GH4
I have both the GH4 and now the GH5. Some thoughts: The feel in my hand feels better with the video record button moved to an easier position on the top. The low light capability is improved and the system handles manual cine lenses better when you attach it asks you for the focal length. Still pictures are greatly improved and the autofocus and some cool features that I am still learning. Great camera that will serve me well for the next several years.

Great Camera but...
I was super excited, camera arrived, started shooting and then... A Vertical line of pixels died after the first day of use and i had to send it out to Panasonic for repair. The battery doesn't last as long as the GH4 and gets kind of hot really fast. The 10bit codecs didn't display on 8bit monitors and editing software. Only The audio would play with a green or black image.I was able to preview the 10 bit video in adobe bridge though. The 8bit c... Show More

Don't worry, be happy!
Kudos to Panasonic and the GH5 team for keeping the diopter adjustment at a -4 That will keep us nearsighted folks pleased, so nice to work without glasses. They are cutting back the positive to +3 so that impacts the farsighted peep holes.

Panasonic GH5 A Winner Sight Unseen
I know it's a little pre-emptive to write a review for a camera that has not yet been released but for me, I can already rate the GH5 5 star and I will tell you why. I'm a full time content creator with a video focus and I own 2 x GH3 and a GH4 camera systems. For anyone wondering about the Panasonic GH5, I wanted to fill in this blank space here on my all time fav store and let you all know that even sight un-seen, I know this camera is going to...
