Ideal For Sit Down Interviews
I've been using this lens with both a GH4 and GH5 for the past two years and I find it's ideal for interview settings. I typically shoot in 3840 x 2160 and this lens allows me to get the camera fairly close for a two-shot, shoot wider that what I need, crop up to 300% in FCPX and still export in 1920 x 1080 while maintaining a pristine image. It's my go-to lens for interviews and it hasn't failed me yet.

Outstanding Lens
After I bought my Panasonic GX9 camera I wanted a wide angle lens to give me the needed coverage for my city and scenic photography. It totally fits the bill, and it is always left on my camera. With my 40 years as a pro photographer... it still makes me plan my shots for the highest impact of those images. I highly recommend it..!!

It's a great lens. Very wide on the GH5s, and shoots nice usable shots even in very little light.

My Dream Lens
I've been eyeing this lens for a couple years now. I finally caved and bought it. Boy, is this lens dream boat city. It's the widest lens known to the Lumix series (without a speedbooster). The warped edge looks pretty cool if that's what you're going for. The automatic focus is fantastic for my YouTube videos. The focus in general is super sharp for all of my documentary footage. This is my favorite lens so far. 3

I always go back to this lens
Even though the Olympus 12-40 is on my camera about 80% of the time, just about all my photos that I think are WOW end up being from this lens. For somebody who shoots a lot of landscapes, this lens is a must.

What m43 is all about for me
If you think of this lens as replacing a 14mm, 20mm, 24mm and 28mm lenses in a package this small and light, it's somewhat of a miracle. Like all ultrawides, it's prone to flare and it seems some users were not expecting this. Like the best m43 lenses, it's quite sharp. If size and weight are of no concern, the Olympus 7-14 is even better. But if you don't care about size and weight, why use the m43 format in the first place? Mount this lens on a small m43 camera and you'll have something we could have only dreamed about in the film era.

Could be better for its price
Well, it's not a superior lens, but not a cheap one, so some expectations are there. And it absolutely doesn't work at any counter- or even side-light. The glares are bad, and their ugly purple color is even worse. To catch them you don't need sun, just any reflection (mirror or glass) is enough :( The rest is ok, but I'm going to save-up for Olympus 7-14/2.8 PRO

Good but not great.
This is an old lens. It's not weather sealed. It distorts on the edges. Although if you want to get a whole building in a frame this is the lens for you. The lens itself is more like a bubble, than a convention lens. The glass is quality, it's a light lens. And I believe some will use this for vlogging while walking, which is fine to off set the camera being so close. The problem is slight chromatic abjuration, price, and lack of a seal. It's not... Purple flair.
I've had this lens for 5 or 6 years. This is a great lens that gets good photos. It is best around f5.6. This lens will flare, badly at times, if you don't help it out. All that is requires is a notepad, folder or something similar to block the sun where it is causing the flair. The lens is incredibly lite and is easy to shoot with one hand. I use the other with a sheet of paper or whatever I have handy and hold it close to the lens to shade it. It's an easy way not to have to change your perspective or have to deal with purple flair in post. My 2 cents.

Great landscapes.
Great photos and video outdoors. In doors, distortion is more noticeable at close distances, but still great video on my Panasonic GH4.

Very nice, sharp wide angle lens.
Nice wide angle lens for the micro four thirds system. Very sharp and also compact in size compared to a wide angle lens for a full frame camera. Makes carrying gear a breeze. Love this lens.

For GH4
Great for both landscapes and indoor group shots. Good color, and very little distortion. Speedy.

You need this lens, now.
The most useful lens I have ever used. I am very enameled with 4/3 system and use eleven lenses however I prefer using this, the 7 - 14 for nearly all occasions. I refuse to take it off my G7. Fortunately I have other Panasonics to use the other glass and do. I live in a small southern coastal city and carry the 7 - 14 nearly everywhere. It is a very democratic lens because it is so inclusive. It catches everyone and everything. I'm always lookin... Show More

I love this lens for dramatic shots
I love using a wide-angle lens for dramatic images and this lens fits the bill. I purchased this before a trip to the Canadian Rockies and it was the lens I used the most. I am attaching an image I made with this lens.

Must Have Lens
I took this along on a trip to the California desert last week. Ended up taking about 80% of my shots with it. Shooting directly into the sun will produce a green/violet flare. I'm OK with it, some may not be. Works well for landscape but you will need something interesting in the foreground to make it interesting. This lens is most at home doing interior architectural as it will capture a normal sized room without too much distortion - pretty amazing really.

excelent
It's small light, super wide, sharp and really affordable. A great addition to my Gh4 shooting options. If there was a way to screw on an ND filter I'd give it 5 stars. I think hey could possible make an accessory modeled after the slip-on lens cover with a 77mm thread.

Spectacular Lens for City Scapes
I shoot in NYC extensively and find this lens to be tremendously strong for city scape photography. The blades in the lens create an attractive starbursts around lights in long exposure night photography and they also produce a pleasant bokeh. Only downside is the inability to easily add ND filters (or other filters) as the shape of the lens doesn't allow one to screw a standard filter on without a filter adapter. Crystal clear throughout the range of F-stops and around the edges.

OUTSTANDING LENS
I used this lens right after my purchase for a photographic shoot of a model railroad museum, and I couldn't have been happier. The incredible detail, contrast, and ease of use was amazing. I'll be using this lens for many photographic opportunities and for a long time. Excellent lens with 14 - 28mm (35mm equivalent). Don't hesitate to acquire this lens....you won't regret it.

Fantastic Lens for Real Estate
I love this lens for both still photography and video with my GH4. I use it for landscapes, real estate and Glidecam. More useful than a fisheye in my opinion.

Amazing Optics!
I purchased the Lumix C Vario 7-14mm f/4 lens for use with my Lumix GX7 camera after extensively researching ratings on the internet and after the recent price drop. I am using the lens for 1) travel photography, where it is particularly well suited for shooting in confined spaces in cities, where longer focal length lenses cannot capture the breadth of buildings, monuments and other large subjects; 2) for shots of rooms and other interior spaces... Ok, but easily creates lens flair
Sharpness was good; however I found lens flair to show its ugly face when there was any light source in the frame or just outside of it. Drove me nuts.

Beautiful Micro 4/3 lens for Video and Photos
While I initially felt that the price was somewhat high for such a small, compact lens, now that I've had a chance to put it to work, it was worth every penny. With Micro 4/3 (Panasonic GH series), the kit lens just doesn't give you a wide enough perspective at 14-42mm, equating to 28-84mm. While this 7-14 mm is equivalent to 14-28mm. It's perfect for what I needed it for. Mostly to shoot video of people working on projects with the camera positi... Show More

Took the lens out for a test walk in the city as soon as it was delivered, and was very pleased with the results. Great solution for urban photography. Looking forward to taking it with me on my next trip.

Not what I expected
Lens took a wide picture but too distorted with the center of the image too small. In even mild sunlight, I had too must bleaching of the top of the photo. I am returning item on next trip to NY.
