top quality
This 12mm MFT f1.4 has been an excellent lens for wide gimbal work in low light. I use for filming wedding receptions.

Dissapointed and suprised
I've been using m43 on and off for 2 years, and have been impressed at how good the best m43 lenses are, and how poor some of the other m43 lenses are. Not suprisingly, the more expensive lenses tend to be the better ones, except for the simple lenses like the pancakes. My usual m43 wide angle is the excellent Panasonic 8-18 but I wanted something faster. The Olympus 12mm was good but not great unless stopped down--at which point there was n... Show More

perfect addition to my GX8
I already had a 20mm and 45mm for my micro four thirds camera. This high quality wide angle lens makes this collection more complete. It has already come in handy for its first job. Great optics with very little distortion.

Amazing Lens
This lens is a pleasure to use, incredibly sharp, great contrast, no distortion that I can perceive. It feels solidly built, operates smoothly and quietly and is beautifully finished as one would expect from a Leica labeled lens. I am addicted to the Lumix/Leica line and this is one of the best in that line, along with the 42.5mm.

Sharpness and Stars Come at a Price
I have recently been able to use this lens while filming in the midwest and it did not let me down. The stills were as sharp as I have seen with my GH4, even out to the edges while shooting wide open, and the video was clean as could be (it cleaned up the VFR 96fps a lot). The aperture could be change manually or with the camera dials by simply changing the iris ring to the "A" setting or by rotating the ring to the desired aperture. As mentioned... Show More

Beautiful Optics for Stills but BEWARE for video users!
I got this lens and literally used it for 1 hour and returned it. The optics are fantastic, sharp all through the aperture ranges. Corners are excellent even wide open. The build quality is awesome, very high quality lens for still photography. However,....the aperture ring clicks in partial stop increments. The ring cannot be de-clicked. This is fine unless you want to run it with an auto IRIS setting. Selecting auto aperture mode for video does... Show More

great but
Amazing in photos. What i don't understand is for 1300 why couldn't they add OIS

Amazing lens BUT
This lens to me is a life saver. Amazing photos, and beautiful video. i wish they could of added OIS for such an expensive price. https://vimeo.com/219774697 in this demo reel a lot of the shots wouldn't have been obtainable without the f/1.4 i believe its really amazing, but mostly for slowmotion. This could be the best lens panasonic sell for photo and video, but no OIS :/

Unbelievably Sharp
Whether wide open at 1.4, or stomped down, this lens is incredibly sharp. I mainly shoot landscape and this is really the only lens I pack. Bokeh is beautiful, too. And macro! All around a great lens. Could be a tad bit cheaper considering the 50 1.4 is a fraction of the price. Overall though, build quality is top notch. It pairs really well with the GH5.

Fast and fabulous
This paired with my new GH5 is great! Love the aperture ring... It really extends the low light capabilities.

My favorite MFT lens
Just purchased the GH5 with the 12-35mm, 12mm and 20mm to start my kit. This lens stands out among the three to me in hybrid shooting situations. Super fast, sharp and very pleased with build quality. Looking forward to exploring the pro lens lineup from Panasonic.

Fantastic Glass for stills or video
I bought this one elsewhere, because of a promotion (sorry, B&H), and I could not be happier with it. Edge to edge sharpness is near perfect. It's a very substantial piece of kit, as well. The amount of light it lets in seems impossible. It's also the fastest focusing lens I've encountered. It's a perfect fit for aerial video (my main purpose), but will fit into other niches well, IMO. Yes, it's expensive. It costs more than the body I'm using it... Show More

smooth & crisp
The missing lens with my 25, 42,5, 100-400 and 7-14, 12-32 and 75 awesome set. Great bokeh, colorimetry, fast AF!

This lens has changed my perception of the mft platform
I always shot photos separately with a Canon because the mft cameras have always not cut it when it came to low light performance, shallow DOF, and color. But somehow, this lens addresses all of that in a big way. Video and photos with beautiful colors, bokeh, no noise, shallow DOF in very low light conditions. I'm still taking it in. I actually like using my mft camera for photos now. I can shoot video in situations where it was inconceivable before. The beautiful shallow DOF for closeup shots of people and objects just encourage you to shoot.
