Really nice lens
This is a 200 mm lens f/2.8 that is very sharp and fast, even with the 1.4X teleconverter. This would be the equivalent of a 400 mm f/2.8 lens for a full frame camera (or equivalent to a 560 mm f/4 when the teleconverter is used) at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent full frame lens! There is also an optional 2X teleconverter available. Can lens be very easily hand held (providing a good technique) due to the internal stabilization sys... Show More

Wonderful lens
Pretty expensive lens, however the price drop to $2,500 is welcomed. Outstanding quality, build quality and photo quality are superb. This focal length works incredibly well at the zoo, alongside the included 1.4x teleconverter for the occasional times you need to reach just a bit further. I paired this lens with a GH5. Fast and accurate auto focus. Can't really think of anything bad to say about it, beautiful lens. Attached tiger photo was taken without the teleconverter at f/8.0. Cheetah is with 1.4 teleconverter at f/4.0.

There's a reason why it's not cheap
Yes this lens will take a chunk out of your retirement savings. And for good reasons. It focuses really fast and is razor sharp. I still don't like the hoods on pany telephotos (also have the 100-400) but they addressed the annoyance I had with the tripod collar not rotating 360*, because this one rotates all the way around. One minor gripe, which I won't mark it down for, is that the rattle (common with stabilized lenses when the camera power i... Show More

Top notch and so light!
I am coming from 20years of Nikkor 300 f/2.8 up to their 800mm. No more... This 200mm f/2.8 paired with the G9 is a high performance tool, at a fraction of the cost and weight. Sharpness is stellar, as well as stabilisation, way better than the good old Nikon VR. No tripod with a 400mm equivalent field, thats a reality. Thanks to Panasonic for re-inventing photography. Im with you guys.
