DPC Latency Makes Real Time Audio Applications Impossible

On paper, this device would seem like a powerful unit that can handle creative work. It is also the recommended unit by Avid for use with their Pro Tools recording software. In reality, the DPC latency on the device is so high that all audio applications have crackles and pops. You can't even play audio off of the built in speakers without crackles and pops, let alone any audio recording and mixing. I have spent countless hours troubleshooting ... Show Morewith various audio device manufacturers, BH Photo and HP to no avail. With the added RAM and hard drive upgrades, I have essentially spent $2500 on a word processor! This is the final draw for me ever trusting Windows computers for audio recordings. I will be a first-time Mac user the next time I am in the market for a 'workstation' computer. This machine does not live up to its description either on the BH Photo, Avid nor HP website. Stay away from this computer! My only regret is that I did not return this within 30 days and am now only able to rely on HP's one-year warranty, which still does not fix the fundamental flaw with this computer.Show Less
