Superlux HD-662 B
Impressive sound for the price but designed to fail.
Certainly not the best headphones out there but very nice for the price. I can't think of anything in the same price range that's even close as far as sound quality. The sound is surprisingly good. I've owned another pair of this model and I know a bit of breaking in helps a lot. When broken in they still sound a bit harsh in the highs but still pretty impressive for the price. The closed back design does feel VERY closed though. More s... Show More

Clarity!
I bought these for two purposes: Playing digital piano and for tracking vocals and guitar. For both purposes these do very well. They are comfortable to wear, although they can feel a bit warm and clammy if you are wearing them for hours at a time. They are very isolating, shutting out external sounds as good as hearing protectors - you could probably use them when playing/recording drums. The sound leakage to the surroundings is also very good, ... Show More

How to improve product lifespan
I am writing as an addendum to another reviewer's comments on the cheap build quality of the cable/plug. I agree that these headphones are excellent except for this one issue. The cable on my previous pair failed at the connection to actual headphones/earpiece. Possible solution: there is a product marketed in the UK under the brand name 'Sugru' that can be used to reinforce/support cables at points where strain causes failure. In the case o... Show More

Great for recording guitar
I was looking for a pair of closed back headphones to help me with recording an amped guitar. Closed-back headphones, while giving a more 'natural' sound, tend to have some leakage, which is a trade-off for that clarity. So for recording with a microphone it's best to use closed-back headphones. I find these excellent at blocking out the sound of my amp; this helps me to really hear what's being recorded. As a result, I feel my guitar recordings ... Show More

Excellent sound
Excellent sound and very comfortable to wear... But you also get pretty sweaty ears. They also are good at blocking outside noise, can't really hear the doorbell, phone or noisy neighbours when using these. I guess these headphones could really use an amplifier, my computers soundcards headphone connector doesn't have enough power to drive them, but the pre-amplified speaker connector seems to be just enough. The "self-adjusting" -part of... Show More

Great sounds from some great headphones - these really can't be beaten for the price! I've had other headphones before where my ears don't quite fit inside each 'can', so this was a concern (even though my ears aren't that big). These measure about 5.5cm inbetween the padding which was great for me. The padding itself is quite comfy, even with glasses on. The springiness of the headband gives a good seal around your ears which helps iso... Show More

Great entry level headphones
I received these at part of a bundle with a digital studio set up expecting them to be average in performance. I now use them quite a lot even though i have far more expensive phones. They are actually quite good and certainly suit me for recording. Great value for little money and certainly worth consideration instead of spending huge amounts of money thinking more cash means better quality.

Very good for the price, but don't expect budget Sennies.
Overall a pretty good set of monitoring/tracking cans, but can become quite uncomfortable during prolonged use. I would recommend them for up to one hour continuous use, any longer than that and you'll want to fire them at a wall. You should take regular breaks anyway. I've had them for 3 years and they have not let me down, the price/quality ratio is favourable.

Fun bass-boosted headphones. They are closed, but have almost negligible noise attenuation from outside noises (esp. compared to any of 3M ear muffs that I use). Buying them for outside noise attenuation is probably a bad idea. Good for everything else at the price.

For the price
For the price, amazing to hear how far we've come... Maybe there's others around this price but I haven't worn them. They aren't expensive headphones, but they are what they are, which is good. I plugged them into my guitar amp after bedtime last night and woke nobody.

very good for the price
really good and honest sound for the price. comfortable and seem durable for a sensible use. I surprised very good friends - "selling" them as high end headphones;,when they tried them, they wouldn't believe when I revealed the real price point!

Best phones I've owned
Used them daily for a few years. The only problem is that it gets hot inside after a few hours, but they are closed so no big surprise there. Good isolation, good sound, strong bass. Very good build quality.

Quality without the price
Been using these a while and I must say how happy I am. Great Isolation and the sound quality is way beyond the price paid. Dont think twice Just get a set. Solid build and comfortable.

A great headphone for beginners
Cover frequency range from 10hz to 30,000hz, one foot step in the world of professionals. But a little bit too tied for my head, my ears get pain after hours of use.

Very pleased
I'd heard these before I bought them and had to gave a pair big bass, recessed mids, great for gaming, movies TV etc, not bad for bass guitar either.
