Superlux HD-660
Very good for the price!
I purchased these headphones because I needed an extra pair for recording/monitoring in my studio. No matter how much I try to avoid it musicians always manage to destroy headphones sooner or later so I wanted something cheap. I've tried several other cheap Superlux headphones in the past but although most of them have sounded surprisingly good there has always been one big problem: The cable has always been so fragile that they ALWAYS break wher... Inexpensive impedance
Never heard about high impedance headphones? May be not, because they often cost too much and are not normally suited for small, battery operated portable equipment, but a higher impedance can be useful in some setups. The HD-660 are the only 150 Ohm headphones I have found at this price. The saving against other similar products was suspect, but the generally positive reviews that guided me to the purchase were right: the HD-660 are a very goo... Show More

The only headphones you will ever need
Superlux have once again produced a benchmark product which would be astonishingly good at any price. First of all, the HD-660, is light in weight and extremely comfortable, even for long periods of use. Furthermore, the build quality is rugged and would withstand the rigours of professional use. The sound quality is extraordinary by any standards, with a flat and wide frequency response which provides real accuracy and finesse. In addition, the ... Show More

Superlux HD-660
I bought these, alongside a pair of Superlux HD-669's, to replace a pair of Sennheiser HD-25's. A tall order for anyone that knows those headphones BUT I had read some very convincing reviews and so I took a chance. Obviously a pair of EUR30ish headphone can not be expected to be on par with a pair of headphones costing almost ten times the price so that has to be taken into consideration. Where I feel these headphones really excel is that th... Show More

Great sound for a great price
The reason i bought these headphones is because a friend of mine has these and I really liked them. Now I have been using them for over 3 months and I love them. I mostly used them with my Asus Xonar DGX, but they also sound great with my phone (on phone you only won't be able to get them REALLY loud). They are a little bit tight on your head (especially if you have a big head like me) but this helps to get a great bass experience. The bass ... Show More

I was looking for a set of headphones that provided good insulation for when tracking in the studio. There headphones are quite comfortable and do retain the sound and prevent the microphones from picking up the click track or the backing track. You would probably need a headphone extension cable to anele the user more freedom. Now in terms of sounds don't expect to be amazed. As with many headphones at this price range they have a smile EQ ... Show More

nice headphone
regarding the price, this headphone was a nice deal, although there are some things i want to mention: the cable is way too short. Also, the spiral-shape is not a good idea at all! It makes it impossible to sing a few steps away from your interface or whatever. The headphone itself is too "short": I you have a big head and maybe a lot of hairs, that this is definitely not a good buy. It wont be sitting nicely on your ears. But all in all i... Show More

incredible sound!!! Comfort a littlebit upgreadeble
Hello everyone, i nearly got the whole range of superlux-headphones for testing at home and this one is the best of the closed ones. In my opinion all superlux headphone got two problems, the high frequenzes are too loud and too screachy and the mid-frequenzes are a littlebit too quiet. Focusing at these poblems, the HD-660 is the best choice of the Superlux Headphones. Because of the simlar design, you could think that the wearing comfor... Show More

Nice sound!
I bought these headphones for my digital piano, because I wanted to practise playing just around the clock. Therefore they do a great job. They are very comfortabel to wear (perfect size for me, the smallest. But you can also change the size into a bigger one) and there are no disturbing noises from outside. The piano sound is very clear and so it's real fun playing the digital piano when using these headphones. The only thing that might be a... Show More

great for the price!
The headphones are great for the price. In comparison with other 5-6 times more expensive headphones their feel is quite "plastic" and their sound is more brilliant and having less bass. I use them in the studio alongside BD DT770 and singer have no complain. I aslo get a very low leakage concerning the metronome when recording. If you can afford the extra cost consider buying beyerdynamic DT770 earpads which are compatible and have a more profes... Show More

I love these headphones really much! Very cheap headphones for such a high quality sound. You could get like 5 of these for the price of one DT-770, and these area essentially copy of those headphones. Build quality seems absolutely fantastic, Has some kind of metallic finish. If you buy these you should also get the DT-770 earpads for these headphones, they make it very very comfortable to wear, and the texture feels very good on your ear. Only ... Show More

Great for tracking
I needed a few sets of 100ohm+ cans for tracking and did not want to dish out £££s on them, as they would only be used for monitoring purposes. These things look like they're exact copies of the Beyerdynamic DT770s, and thats pretty much what they are. But you can feel how much cheaper they are, the plastic feels cheap, the cable feels cheap, and the ear pads feel cheap. Despite this they are exactly what I was looking for! My headphone amp can drive these loud enough for me to hear while tracking drums, and I wouldn't mind if they were to get damaged or became faulty.

Really nice sounding cans for the money.
I was looking for a reasonably priced set of phones to replace some Sennheisers that were dying. I had heard good things about these and thought I'd give them a shot. I figured at worst I could use them purely for monitoring while tracking. As it turns out the hype was pretty close to the truth. I really love these phones. At first they were a bit on the bright side but after a few weeks of burn in, they mellowed quite a bit and sound very even now. The bass response is good but not overwhelming. Overall I'd say they sound pretty flat. For the money you can't really go wrong.

Excellent
I've just done some A/B tests with these and my DT 770s. These are actually better than the 770s once you take the velour pads off the 770s and put them on the HD 660s. I was going to swap the drivers from my 770s to the 660s but now I'm not going to bother. They sound great. The velour pads, for some reason, attenuate the bass to an acceptable level. These also lack the excessive brilliance of the DT 770s. With this slight modification these are the best pair of headphones I've ever owned.

A steal
these are absolutely excellent, quality build and sound. feel and sound like they're worth 5 times the price. Audios best kept secret. BIG, ideal for studio usage or critical listening, A balanced flat-ish sound, but not too sterile, very good for rock/metal/classical/musicals/ not so much hiphop dance e.t.c, By no means bad for those genres, not at all, in fact far far better than most commercial high street headphones. Just have a nice punchy detailed sound. Love them.

Not sure about the hype
These are the superlux copys of the Beyer Dynamic DT770's. Interestingly, I bought these and the DT770's in the same order - so had the chance to A/B them both straight out of the box. I was quite dissappointed with the Superlux. After all the hype I expected to hear that they were a lot closer to the DT770 sound than they actually were. Perhaps in time, they will grow in. For the moment, I'm not so convinced by they'll work as some second purpose cans in the studio.

The open office monitor!
Love the sound, even straight out of the box! Nice build quality, wished the cable could come of though since sadly mine arrived glitchy. Different experience than with the hd668b's, more like being under a blanket reading a book late at night, than standing on an open field :) Perfect for monitoring at an open space kinda' office. Best value for money, ear pads need to be replaced for something a little bit durable though.

Excelent cans
Bought these for processing music on a DAW and for arranging and composing on Sibelius. Good quality and very clear, deep bass. Slight issue with the 3.5mm jack wiggling in the socket and losing connection. My other headphones don't do it so can only assume that there is minute difference in the size of the jack. It would be good if someone at the manufacturers could check this out. That said, really good cans.

OK for tracking
For the price these things are surprisingly good. They sound a bit boxy, but for tracking in the studio that's not always a bad thing. They are quite comfy too. I have two pairs. They sound nothing like the DT770, in case you were wondering! I also have the semi-open Superlux ones but they sound awful and aren't comfortable. If you want something cheap but useable, get these!

they're ok for the price
These headphones are very comfortable and they isolate most sound even without music playing. The sound quality isn't the best but it's really nice for the price. If you need professional headphones these aren't ideal but if you use them at home like me they're very nice. The built quality is poor, they're probably going to break in a year or so.

Good value headphones
The sound has very good presence, the cable is short (ca. 1m), but flexible, very convinient for handling. if needed can be extended ) The clamping force is quite strong, after an hour, it gets quite annoying. I guess this is the price for having el cheapo closed back headphones. Overall, a very good value for the headphones

The headphones are solid build quality. The cans are tight to the head, coupled with the closed design prevents bleed. The drivers are quite loud. I would advise buying a headphone extension lead as well with this product as the supplied lead is a little short. Apart from that for the money it's a bargain. Well impressed.
