AKG K81 DJ On-Ear DJ Headphones (Black & Silver)
MPN's:
Just what I wanted
Ok, so first lemme tell you where I am coming from. I am a college student that has always loved music but has recently gotten into djing. I love house/techno/trance, club mixes, basically anything with a good beat. I bought myself an inexpensive beginner dj mixer with software but needed arguably the most important equipment, headphones. I wanted something with a good reputation, sturdy build, great sound, portable and not too expensive because ... Show More

Great product for the price!
I had been looking for a new set of cans for quite some time. Typically I tend to over-research a topic to death and arrive on one or two final solutions. This time I took a slightly different route. I consider myself an audiophile and love to pay attention to the clarity and little nuances in music. My last set of headphones (of this type) were Skullcandy Skullcrushers. Great for bass, and that's about it. Don't judge, it was an impulse purchase... Show More

Surprisingly good for the price
These were included as part of a bundle with some fairly pricey PA speakers, so I did not select them at all. When they arrived and I pulled them out of the package, they were so lightweight and small that I figured they were junk that could be tossed into a bundle as a freebie. As others have noted, they're not over-ear; they're on-ear, but I was shocked by how stellar the isolation from ambient noise is. They create a very good seal that blocks... Show More

Excellent DJ Headphone
For this price range, these headphones are great. They are designed though for more dance/electronic type music with an emphasis on bass. It has very strong and solid sounding bass, but only decent treble. But I think they still are good enough and work great. If you're looking for a relatively low price set of headphones, these are great regardless. The sound overall on these headphones for this price range for any music is still great but definitely a must if you're looking for headphones under 100 for bass heavy music. They fold so they are also very portable.

Great Product,!
I use the headphones to listen to house and trance music while I'm at home and when I'm walking around. The sound quality is excellent but a bit bass heavy when used on an ipod. Build quality is good, they feel solid. One downfall I've encountered is they tend to heat up after a few minutes of use. It actually makes them great for walking around during winter as the heat is nice. Another con is that they are a tight fit and hurt my ears after a while. Overall, they are excellent headphones for the price

Good Price, excellent headphones
They are whats promised and more. Very well made for the price. Excellent bass seperation (not boomy) and decent highs. As a DJ you want a durable product with decent cord length, and the K 81 DJ's are just that product. I imagine you would have to spend at least $100 dollars to get in the ball park of something that sounds so good and well made.

Very enjoyable headphones all in all
At the current street price the K81Dj provide an incredible combination of portability, durability, and isolation. They perform respectably in the sq area as well, providing a rich midrange, very strong bass, and accurate treble.A great set of phones that works extremely well at its price point (and makes me want to try the higher-end K181DJ).

Excellent Product
The band might not fit everyone, and it took some getting used to but I'm starting to really appreciate the fit. The sound isolation is excellent though, I haven't heard a closed back pair that sounds better. Other than that, this is a quality set of headphones, I would definitely recommend them.

Constructed like JUNK
The stereo plug bent the first time I used it. The phones no longer function. They sounded great for the first 5 minutes. I would not recommend these headphones if you actually use them. Leave them in the package. They look great. A Waste of $.

Near Audiophile sound
Amazingly clean and transparent sound from an inexpensive headphone set. The fit will be tight on a large head and the on-ear cushions are somewhat thin, but the compromises are well worth it for the amazingly accurate sound.

Awesome
You should definitely get this. It's so loud & sound is crystal clear. Once you have them on you can't hear anything else around you, just the music, which is just what I needed !

Great value
Great price for the sound quality, my only complaint is they aren't the most comfortable.... Even with that I am still very happy with them, so far they have been pretty durable.

Meh...
Good sound quality, but really uncomfortable. Headband is really thin. Feels worse than my old Sony studio monitor headphones that are probably 6+ years old.

great sound quality
great product, well finished and durable; the only thing is it presses on my ears and they begin to hurt after a while but i guess ill get used to that.

I would buy this product again and again.
I use it with my video camera. I like the sound and quality. I really like the long cord also let others use it with adapter and they like it as well.
