Good all-rounder
The Google Home device works well in it's simplicity. Very easy to set-up through the downloadable app The functionality is good and generally listens and responds to questions accurately. I think that this kind of technology is a little gimmicky, however there are some useful features. Hopefully overtime, more features will be added to make this technology more useful for everyday tasks Overall, happy with the product. Saying "OK Google" to initiate the Google Home does get repetitive

Is this the new iPad?
Blends in nicely as it looks like an ornament or an air freshener. Very easy set up using an app on your phone. Decent sound to play music. Mic can pick up your voice even playing music loudly. Great fun asking it questions but keep them simple in structure. Quiz game is a laugh with friends and singing you happy birthday on your big day is a nice feature. Make sure you have chrome cast of you want it to play youtube and Netflix on your TV. Streams radio, spotify and even times our cooking!

Google Home is amazing
I wasn't sure at first thnking it would either be a two minute wonder or a great asset. Its absolutely brilliant. Very easy to set up, sound quality is good. I do a lot of crosowords so its easy to say 'Hey Google, what is the capital of ' and so on, though you do have to be careful how to phrase thngs. It gives the weather forecast, news etc and when the next bus is, what time a store opens etc. Even a joke. Its not perfet yet but well worth the money and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Google Now at Home
Google Home has pretty much replaced my Echo Dot since I use it most for voice controlled multi-room audio (Spotify, Tunein, Podcasts and phone audio) and YouTube, Netflix TV. The purchase was a no brainer having a few Chromecast Audio dongles. It works great but like the Echo Dot voice detection can be hit and miss. I'd say it fails to detect every 1 in 5 times which sounds terrible no worse than the Echo but it's worth it to me for a voice controlled home since I also have Hue lights.

Google home is amazing
I bought this a month ago after my brother showed me his. To my surprise it was extremely easy to installl which was good cos i'm rubbish with Technology. I bought it for the music, which is brilliant cos you can ask it anything and it plays it. But it does so much more. I set timers for my cooking. I ask her questions. She tells me jokes etc. My grandchildren love her. And i've promised both my children one for christmas so there families can experience the joy of Google Home like me.

Google Home
I wondered if we would use this as we are able to ask questions on other devices. However, after the easyset up we have found a new friend in the house. Not only is the quality of the speaker much better than I had imagined I am pleased I can listen to Spotify by using this device. We are asking a lot more questions than we usually would and we start the day by asking for the weather and latest news. We shall continue to make good use of it even if it’s only as a great speaker for music.

Pretty good but a few shortcomings
The setup was pretty easy, and it connected to most of my other devices immediately. I do find it a little clunky with the phrases you've got to use for it to cast to the TV, but I hope that will get better. It plays music immediately when asked and the speaker on it is impressive for its size. I haven't compared it to Amazon's Alexa but I'd imagine it'd be much the same. If Google supports integrating online purchases and a few other things then it'll be a good step in the right direction.

fun and easy to use, sound is very good family loved it over Xmas. download tunein and play any radio station. connect it to Google's play music (free trial, then subscription £9.99) or use Spotify free version it works but it's limited for example you can't request a certain artist or album, you ask for Rock music or pop music etc and it'll play a list of that music still free though. (you can't use Spotify free version on the Amazon echo or dot) so in my opinion Google is the way to go.

Excellent device
The Google Home is fantastic device for helping you answer questions, making you more productive and playing, a podcast or even casting a Netflix show using only your voice. However, the Google Home's prowess aside, we were a bit disappointed to see when we opened the box that it was clearly a return. The packaging had obviously been opened and repackaged. To confirm our suspicions, we noticed that someone else's account was already connected to the device and it hadn't bene factory reset.

Love my Google Home
Absolutely love my Google Home. The good thing is that it's forever improving because Google are working hard on adding new features all the time. The microphone is amazing because it can pick you up from another room. You can also have music playing rather loud and it can still here you say 'OK Google'. Also it works really well with Google Play and also has the option to work well with Spotify. Also good sound, but can also cast to chromecast enabled hifi for better sound if you want.

Nice assistant, but lack many features
I liked the product, it has basic features of an assistant. However, I expected it to be fully integrated with my google services, and it does little regarding this. It cannot access my contants and send emails, it reads (only) my main calender. I managed to do some more things integrating it with IFTTT, but I excepted it to do at least what Google now does. The sound quality is ok, but not better than normal bluetooth speakers. I kept it hoping that feature software releases are better.

Stylish google home device
Google home is stylish in design with good sound quality. Set up was easy, you need download the google home app onto your phone to get started. It has a quick response to answering questions, you need to say "ok google" before each question which can get a bit trying if asking lots of questions. It is disappointing that it will not play music direct from your phone without going through chromecast or spotify which is an extra cost. Overall a great device and would recommend this product

The smart speaker is more than what I expected
It is a great product. It provides more than what we thought. Originally, we just plan to use it to stream music and get some information for the forecast. Once we open the box, we found that it can also stream radio station, translate words to other language, recognise the user difference and provide associated service, tell you calendar and set timer. All functions can be done by voice command. The response is pretty good in a large room as long as there is only one user speak at once.

Good but still learning
Google Home gives decent, if not great sound, for listening to music by voice search which is a great experience. It's great for fact checking and playing general knowledge quiz games for a bit of a laugh. However if, like me, you have more than one calendar in the Google Calendar app/service it won't read any appointments when you ask it about your schedule. This in turn effects your daily briefing. I also found it a little perplexing that Google Home can not work with Android TV?

Google Home!
Bought for my 75year old mum to bring her into the 21st century. She loves it, thinks it's magic! She can call family and friends without touching her phone, play music and radio stations she wants to listen to just by saying "hey google". She plays general knowledge quizzes and even conducts her own google searches which she couldn't get the hang of on her phone. All by just speaking to her google home. Definitely a great purchase for older generations to increase their knowledge base.

Prefer Alexa
Better than Alexa at answering questions and interpreting my voice. Alexa is better at everything else. In particular: Hearing me from a long distance and hearing me over music / talk eminating from the speaker (as opposed to noise from a different source, in which case both are poor). Have to move up close to Google home and shout for it to hear me over any music it is playing - very annoying. Disappointed to find that the free version of You Tube music is not available on Google Home.

I think Amazon Echo is better
Most professional reviews would disagree but I think the Amazon Echo is better overall. Google Home sounds more human in the choice of words but it still cannot find a decent playlist and it does not have support for as many services as Amazons Echo. Mine also frequently disconnects so you'll ask it something and get the response "something went wrong, try again in a couple of seconds" or the "there has been a hitch, try again in a couple of seconds". It does like nice though.

Happy husband
I brought this as a present for my husband and he wasn't disappointed. He absolutely love it and does everything with it from to do list to setting the timer when cooking there's no end to what you can do. When we was trying her out she was close to the tv, I would advise not to do that as she picks up on the talking and starts taking back answering question that I haven't asked lol. My husband is now excited a out getting the add on extras to control the lights etc. Hight recommend

Great for Google Assistant fans
If you like the Google Assistant on your phone then this is a perfect way to bring it into your living room. Great for setting timers, checking the weather before you go out, looking up quick facts, sums or conversions, and loads more you might not realise. Plus, the sound quality is obviously not as good as a full on hi-fi/speaker system but it's surprisingly good for such a small package, delivering plenty of volume and bass, so it's perfect for casual listening when at home.

Sorry google - it's not ready yet
One day I'm sure this will be a great product - but it's not yet ready in my view. It does OK on some questions, but I couldn't get it to do things like tell me if the london underground was working OK, which should be pretty basic. I mainly got it to control music by voice and that just doesn't work smoothly enough. Sometimes it's great - but othertimes it just doesn't play or stutters. And they don't tell you that you need to subscribe even to play your own music. That's not on.

Doesn't mix well with iPhone
For any iOS users thinking of buying this product, Google Home is next to useless if you don't use Google's services. It only supports playing music from Google Play and Spotify Premium - it won't work with a free Spotify account. Google Home doesn't support bluetooth connection at all. It only plays music via Google Cast, something with only a handful of iOS apps have. So if you use iTunes or iOS podcast or Apple Music service, there is no way you can listen to them on this speaker.

Starting to feel at home with Home
Having marked Home down a star for sound quality, (far too much bass which currently cannot be corrected, making the speaker sound a little muffled - although I would expect that a software correction for this will be provided soon), I am otherwise very impressed with the results you can get from the Google Assistant that powers the device. There are quite a few questions that Google Home simply cannot answer but it can only improve with time. A cute design and unobtrusive footprint.

Nice little helper!
Great device, simple set-up and easily integrated with some other products I use for home automation from LightwaveRF. It's so simple to set reminders, timers and get all sorts of information; news, weather, traffic etc. just by talking to it. I decided to subscribe to a music service and now just have to ask for my favorite tunes to be played....... the sound is quite remarkable for such a small device. So simple I'm going to get one for my mother who has trouble using a TV remote!

Couldn't be without it now!
Having been researching this and the Alexa, I decided to go for the Google Home. The assistant is more intelligent and I have no doubt in time Google Home is going to race ahead. Personally for the price I think the speaker is excellent! I've since signed up to Spotify which I am loving and play my music and radio through this now. In fact my digital radio has now become obsolete! I've now also purchased a Google Home mini for the bedroom and will be buying another for the kitchen.
