An Amp to take anywhere
I wanted a little more power than my Fiio M9 could provide, especially the bottom end. Bought the A5 and tried it (very carefully) with my Shure Earphones. The sound was deeper, with a deeper soundstage, no noise, just black silence and super clear music. (sorry, not a srereophile when it comes to descriptions). portable bliss
Nice size considering the power and battery life. Quality feel and build. Teamed with the amazing sound quality of my new LG-V30 smartphone and full size Hifiman HE 400i, pure bliss!!! The bass boost adds just enough fun when desired. And as always a great experience buying from B&H!

A great addition
Hello. If you are in to high res audio or you want your mobile device sound improved and have great set headphones, you need an amplifier. There are many out there and thill one will do the task as well. It goes great with my Fiio X5 (3rd gen) player. I was impressed when I first heard the pair together they cannot live without each other. Simple to use and fairly inexpensive you will be happy with it.

Excellent mobile headphone amp
This is a fantastic headphone amp. Solid build quality, and lots of very clean power. Its got enough juice to get a full sized set of cans going, and sound great doing it. The battery life seems to be great as well. For the money I dont think this unit can be beat, highly recommended.

Very good mobile headphone amp for the money.
This is a very solidly built, clean sounding, and impressively powerful mobile headphone amp. If you want a mobile headphone amp that can power up many full sized headphones to impressive volume levels yet stay very clean, and still have a good battery life, then this is a outstanding unit for the money.

I would buy this product again
I am using this with my FiiO X5 Gen II and it has met my expectations. I use it with my Audio Technica, Sennheiser, and shure headphone and it works well with all of them. Plenty of clear accurate audio power.

I use this amplifier with my iPhone or an ancient iTouch to push volume into my Hifiman HE-400i headphones. Being older and a little deaf already, I needed extra volume, particularly with these headphones, and the amplifier works beautifully. I set the amplifier to low gain usually. A5 Amp is Excellent and Perfect for the New X5-lll DAP
Having purchased the E12A and FiiO X5-ii DAP from B&H awhile ago, I ordered the A5 Amp in anticipation of the release of the new X5-lll DAP, which I had pre-ordered and now have received from B&H. The A5 worked wonders with the previous X5 version, but the A5 Amp paired with the new X5-lll is nothing short of Remarkable. This combination of DAP / AMP is extraordinary in its ability to bring new musicality and depth to every Hi-Res recording I have listened to. Very Highly Recommended.

Transparent, powerful, and sounds better than my DX80's amp
Transparent. Great amp, works very well for me. Powerful. The battery lasts long enough for me (it lasts longer than my DAP's so I charge them at the same time). I have a DX80 & everything I play sounds better through the the A5 than through the DX80's built-in amp. I listen mostly to classical. The added Bass feature is nice for some music too. I am very happy with this amp. :)

Product Not As Expected
I Had The Fiio E12, & Thought This Would Be An Upgrade/Replacement ( My E12 Had Gotten Lost ) Though The A5 Seems Less Of An Upgrade & More Of A Step Back In Amplification Power. I Had Looked At Both The E12 & A5 Specs, & This Is Supposed To Be A Mix Of The E12 & The E12A.
