Great Product and would buy again.
I had an old tape that was made in 1952 on a reel to reel tape player then converted to a cassette player. It was a tape of my grandmother singing and speaking a reel to reel tape player had been used. I was concerned about losing family history. This UCA202 USB/Audio Interface by Behringer was the answer. The sound with the finished CD product had a very clear sound. So happy I found this product. Problem solved!

Simple to use and works great!
I have used this audio interface for nearly 5 years and love it. Basically it is simple to use and inexpensive. With regard to performance it makes good quality recordings and allows good quality playback. I recommend this for entry level and budget pro level audio technicians. The one difficulty I had was with a buzz from one PC I used for recording. This was solved by a ground wire from the UCA202 to the computer case...no more buzz.

Best $ I've ever spent
I bought this in order to play music from my laptop through my audio system, via the USB port. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, without any fuss whatsoever. The sound quality is vastly superior to what I was getting via the headphone jack on my laptop. Very small and portable, and the UCA202's own headphone jack is a great bonus, sounding a lot better than the built-in one on my laptop. Highly recommended. I haven't used it to record mus... Awesome
Its amazing what this little $30 thing can do! It works everywhere, no matter if its vista or win7, 32 or 64 bit - great sound, ultra-low ASIO latency in VST and absolutely no problems in use. Survives hibernation/sleep just fine. Highly recommended if you have tight budget.

Works well
I've got this behind a USB 2.0 hub and a USB 1.1 hub, and it talks fine. The audio performance is good enough that it makes my OK-ish system sound as good as it possibly can. Worked on my MacBook running Mac OS 10.5.8 immediately. No need for drivers or extra software. One oddity is that the name it presents to the Mac is USB Audio CODEC (note the space at the end). This has not been a problem at all, though. The Mac sees the audio input section (sound - Mac) but I have not tested its performance.

Does what I need it to.
This was simple to set up. I use it primarily to convert USB to Toslink which feeds my DAC. You can't beat this for the price.

Not As Quiet As It Should Be
The UCA202 is a breeze to set up, is compact and easy to use, and is useful for amateur-level input and output to a laptop or desktop computer. I have been using it to digitize audio cassette tapes, and overall the quality is acceptable for spoken-word recordings, with the line out from my cassette deck connected directly to the RCA-in plugs. I would not use it for music, however, as there is a large amount of noise in the low range that is difficult to filter without losing the low end of the material.

Does what is says pretty well
I used this to convert analog LPs (off a high-end turntable) to digital mp3s for my iPod. Works well for this application. I appreciate the gold plated female RCA connectors. A gold plated male USB connector would've been much appreciated, but for the price you can't complain. Additionally, I appreciate that it doesn't fiddle with the superb RIAA equalization that is already produced coming out my high end phono pre-amp to the input of this unit.... Show More

Excellent Value
I bought this in order to be able to record high-quality audio on a laptop, and it performs this basic function well. It is very small and light and easy to travel with. It is not really a professional product, however, unlike much that Behringer produces. It lacks balanced XLR or jack connectors (RCA phono ins and outs instead). There is no microphone input, so you will need to pack a mic amplifier or a field mixer in addition to this interface. It's good value for money and great for laptops that do not have high quality line-in and line-out connectors.

Amazingly Simple and Inexpensive Answer
I searched the internet for ways to convert my cassettes and LP's to digital, and even wasted $90 on a turntable with a USB port. This UCA202 is all you need. Just plug the red and white output jacks from the cassette or record player into the input on the UCA202, plug the USB port into the computer and you're ready to record. Elegant in it's simplicity, and works beautifully. Other devices that do the same thing cost hundreds. Go figure. You'll ... Show More

Adaquate
While not the top quality of interface and with certanly not the widest feature set, this interface is just that adaquate. It is important to note that the headphone jack seems unnecesary, but doesn't get in the way. Overall it does what i bought it for, to use the rca tape jacks on my mixer to connect to the computer.

Works Great
Right out of the box I recorded some old 30 yrs home cassette tape productions to my HD - worked perfectly. Machined Metal shell would have been nice.

Great Product! A Must Have! A+
This product is amazing. It does what it does, it does it for the right price, and it's incredibly compact and light, which makes it great for mobile situations. If I want to capture a certain event in progress, it's great that I don't have to worry about batteries, because it is USB powered. As well, the preamp in the component is top notch. Sometimes, though, it will pick some electrical interference, so you have to make sure of where you are r... Show More

Just what I needed!
This is a must for those who want to digitize their tapes or vinyl collection. It is so user friendly and together with the AUDACITY software that you can download online, it works perfectly. I really love the fact that you can equalize, amplify and even boost the bass on your captured track. It even has the noise reduction in it that really makes the music sound clean. I'll be using this piece of technology a lot I'm sure!

It does not that very good sound quality like my I imagine, but not bad. However, look at the price, very worth it!

Exactly what I was hoping for!
The Behringer Audio Interface works great with my Windows Vista laptop. Just plugged it in and was ready to go. The only thing that took some figuring was that I had to route the output to my speakers in order to monitor what I was recording as I couldn't get the sound to play from my PC speaker. I have been using it with no problems to easily digitize a lot of old cassette recordings.

Good product at a great price
Used to port audio from Intel iMac to television. Installed SoundSource utility to switch signal. Much better sound quality than using the low-level headphone output on the computer.

Does everything I needed
This is a very good product if you are looking to put audio onto your computer at a reasonable price. It was easy to set up and has worked great ever since. Very portable if that is something you desire.

Excellent way to copy those LP's to CD
I had several classic 60s/70s LP's, and wanted to copy them to a more modern format. My laptop lacked the common 'line-in' port, thus requiring a USB solution. This USB interface is an excellent low-cost way for connecting the turntable to the computer. It is small, extremely easy to setup, and is a breeze to use. Many archival audio sources are not digital, such as cassette tape, reel-to-reel tape, LP, etc. I would highly recommend the UCA202 to anyone such as myself, that needs a way to capture those old analog memories.

Exactly what I needed at a great price!
I use this product to connect my computer to a pair of self powewered PA speakers. It works great and the sound quality is good. The plastic casing and volume knob could use an upgrade, but for the price of this unit, I am very satisfied.

Works well but would like a gain control
This unit was purchased to make CD's and MP3's from old cassette tapes. It does that well in combination with the Audiology program (downloaded from the internet). I only wish there were a gain control on the unit since the output seems to be down about 3 db from other MP3's I have downloaded from the internet.

it was perfect for me
i use to take the audio from my iMac to my surround system through the headphone port (as most of people do) . after buying this audio interface i recognized that headphones port is designed for headphones :). the deference in sound quality and volume was clear after using digital output from UCA202. now i can switch between the internal speakers (or headphones) and my surround system with a click of mouse (but i could not run them together).

You get what you pay for
This works OK, but it is limited by not having input gain control. I'm mostly using this to digitize LP records. I have it hooked up to the tape monitor loop of an NAD receiver, and a Lenovo T61p running XP. The test sources are a B&O turntable and Technics CD changer. I'm using Audacity software. The first time I hooked it up, the Lenovo wouldn't power it up. So I hooked it up via a powered hub, and it is powered up fine. But after that, I can h... Show More

Very Useful Tool - Does What It Claims
I have a lot of audio interfaces, all nominally better than this one. I purchased it for a specific purpose - to use for making acoustic measurements with an older laptop computer that I keep in my shop. I needed a stereo line level interface that worked with RightMark Audio Analyzer @ and a few other measurement programs that I had, and that I could tuck out of the way rather than haul out a rack mount box. Given what I was measuring, I didn't n... Show More
