Don't Throw Away Your Money, here's what happened to me.
This is a terrible product, and I had the worst customer experience of my life, let me explain. I work in video and photo and I thought this would be a great product to meet my need for a low use, inexpensive IPS monitor. The display came pre-assembled and worked almost flawlessly for 6 months. I used it about 5 hours per week, never moved it, always kept clean and dry. About a week ago it stopped powering up entirely. I could hear a small electr... Show More

Good value for photo-editing
My old Samsung 2230 was becoming difficult to calibrate, so I decided to purchase a new monitor for photo-editing. Photography is a hobby for me; I wanted to stay well below the $1000+ price of top-notch dedicated photo-editing monitors. Photo-editing is demanding of monitor performance, so much of this review includes actual measurements using an X-Rite i1Pro Display monitor calibrator. I would have rated the PA248Q four stars as a general purpo... Show More

Great value & improved photo processing
I recently retired from my first career and started a one person photography service company focusing as much on digital processing, restoration, and custom printing as actual photography. It seems I am in Lightroom and Photoshop more than behind the camera these days. I have been using what was a great monitor in 2003 but drooling over a new IPS wide gambit backlit for several years. My target was on a much higher priced, albeit larger, new moni... Show More

Love this monitor
First, a bit of a negative start in that I am replacing my current PA246Q with this PA248Q because the former gave out after 4 years. Warranty expired after 3 and the American Express card I used to purchase it gave it only an additional year. I was over the warranty period by just a matter of months. I don't know how long a monitor is expected to last, but I assume more than 4 years. As far as the new monitor itself: it is bright, sharp, evenly ... Show More

Excellent monitor
This is a very nice monitor. Mechanically, it seems to be well built. The stand is sturdy and is stiff enough to completely avoid any flopping around. It has a smooth-operating vertical position shift with, apparently, a counterbalance spring. Tilt, swivel, and rotate movements are also smooth. The machine has a very nice on-screen menu system, with clearly-labeled, easy to operate controls (including a mini joystick) on the right-hand bezel. I c... Show More

PA248Q 24
I am a full-time Certified professional photographer with over 35 years experience and I call my own color on all of my photographs. I already own an ASUS PA246Q IPS monitor (for 18 months) and I believe it is an excellent monitor and a tremendous value. I wanted to purchase a new monitor for my assistant and it appeared that the PA248Q was the successor to my older monitor, however the PA248Q was even less expensive, so I was curious what had ch... Early positive results
Using it with another monitor, both of which are hooked up to the same two computers. Colours are reasonably accurate, and image detail in dark and light regions seems better. Black level is still high, but acceptable in a well-lit room. If the room is dark, then black appears the same as on most LCD monitors: dark grey with a distinct glow, instead of actual black. Some colours I thought were tolerably accurate with the other monitor (which is n... Show More

Nice
I spent quite a bit of time researching monitors before I selected this one. The ASUS PA248Q arrived really well packaged and provides value and performance that I'm very happy with. It even came with all required hookup cables which was a nice surprise. Well done. This is absolutely the perfect size monitor for an artist or designer that has some desktop space limitations. Text and images are nice and crisp. Its 1920 x 1200 native resolution pro... Show More

Good Bang For The Buck
I'm a retired professional photographer who's been in the business for 30+ years and I'm still doing a little freelance and contract work when I feel like it. I bought this to replace my old Dell 22" IPS monitor and the colors on this Asus were pretty close with the factory calibration right out of the box. I did however use my Spyder5 Pro to calibrate & color seems spot on now. I love the USB connections on the side, my computer sits beside the ... Show More

Unreliable; turns off and on at random intervals
When I bought this from B & H, I was quite excited about it. But it quickly began to go quirky on me. It would turn off, then on again in a few seconds. The more I used it, the more it did this, and the more it heated up, the worse the problem became. I finally returned it to B & H for a store credit and upgraded to an NEC for twice the money, but it's worth it. There were lots of reviews about this problem on @, but not on the B & H site. It see... Show More

Great Monitor with a glitch
First off if you have to connect this monitor to your computer with a DVI cable forget about buying this Asus monitor, it will flicker and shut on and off at times, if you have other means of cabling (VGA, HDMI)it seems that the flickering issue is solved sinply by pluging into these ports(at least it has for me) from what I gathered this is a continuing and inherent issue with this monitor but the fix is pretty easy if you have other cable ports... Great monitor, when it works
When it works, PA248Q is an excellent monitor. The picture is great, the numerous ports allow the monitor to be used with multiple computers and switch between them with a push of a button. I also like that it has 4 USB 3.0 ports, so you dont need to have a separate USB hub. In my set-up, I use two monitors, one set up horizontally, the other vertically, each on a DisplayPort. Works very well with LightRoom. So, why just 2-stars? In my experienc... Show More

A great upgrade
I am not a professional photographer by any means, but am looking to produce high quality photos for myself (and others)to enjoy. I think that this monitor is a great upgrade from a laptop computer screen! I can't believe the difference! The colors are so much better and the resolution as well. The monitor is easy to set up and comes with all the connecting cables except the HDMI. I have not done any color adjustments, but am using it straight ou... Show More

1920x1200 with USB3
Couldn't afford Apple's cinema display for my new MBP, so got this instead, based on reviews and bang for buck, and that I like non glossy screens. Wanted the versatility of all types of inputs, and thought that the UBS3 ports may eventually prove handy over USB2 (I do not currently own any USB3 peripherals). Really like the adjustability of the stand. To be honest, for my uses (mainly word processing and some video editing), it is probably overk... Show More

24 inches of fully adjustable IPS
Very happy with this unit. Non of the color inconsistencies reported on some other reviews. On the downside, the warranty is one that expects you to keep the original box. (According to the included pamphlet) Bought largely to make various IDE's more useful, but I'm also using it for casual photo and video work. If you're a movie buff, don't bother with a 16:10 screen. But if you do a lot of work on your desktop, you may find going beyond 1080p a... Show More

So far, very pleased
I was looking for a monitor for photography and thus needed something with good calibration. It comes out of the box calibrated and sure enough, it is in fact calibrated accurately. It's height is meaningfully adjustable which compares favorably to other monitors where you have to pivot the monitor to look at it dead on. And that affects how I perceive contrast. There are numerous plug in options available but only one HDMI (as far as I can tell)... Show More

Awesome Monitors
I bought two of these for convenience in editing pictures in photoshop, hd video in premiere pro, etc. They are great. They also have many options for cables, which was useful because my graphics card doesn't output two of the same dvi, hdmi, vga. They also come pre-calibrated color-wise. There is a slight difference in color between the two monitors, but they may be from not connecting them to my pc via the same kind of cable. I have one connecte... Show More

Excellent Monitor
Wanting an IPS monitor, I initially bought the Dell U2412M for my office already having the U2311H at home and pleased with it. After receiving the U2412M, I noticed that the build quality of this IPS is inferior to that of the previous generation Dell IPS monitors so I returned it. A big step up from consumer monitors
I have two high end Dell displays on my desk at work, and I was always amazed at how much better they looked than my 6-yea-old ViewSonic display at home. So I wasn't exactly disappointed when the ViewSonic bit the dust a couple of week ago.
