Excellent monitor for photo editing -- with limitations

I needed to upgrade my older, standard purpose monitor to one specifically suited to photo editing, debated between this and a similar BenQ unit, and chose Asus. This one has speakers, while the BenQ does not, important as I have precious little desk real estate for external speakers. This has its own calibration program, stated to work with Datacolor and other calibrators, storing the profile in the monitor, NOT in the computer. Now, I'm quite agitated by a limitation just discovered. Calibration is absolutely essential to my work. With my first attempt to calibrate, and after several support calls to Asus, it seems their software is incompatible with my brand new, latest model, Datacolor Spyder X calibrator! What am I to do? I could calibrate with the Datacolor software, however, the profile would be stored in the computer, not the monitor, plus the Asus calibration program also checks uniformity of illumination across 15 points on the screen, while the Datacolor program does not at all address this.Show Less
