Production Director's new iMac
We just ordered the iMac Pro 27/10C/64GB/2TB/RPV64 for our Production Director. The iMac that he was using in the past wasn't able to handle the large file formats that he has access to. This iMac is able to handle the large file formats with ease and has increased overall productivity. Couldn't be happier with it's overall performance!

Great Machine
Beautiful screen and excellent speed. Still migrating files and completing setups, but very impressed so far. Of course, I'm coming from a Mac Pro 2010. However, right now it's everything I expected and hoped for. Better be for the price though.

Crackerjack computer!
Got the base model for a great price from B&H - its a day and night difference from using my two year old i7 27 iMac, which was the highest end one at the time I could buy - it would crank up the fan for any serious work, the iMac Pro barely breaks a sweat at video processing and Xcode compiles. So far so great!

Truly remarkable
I came from an iMac desktop that was 6 years old, was slow, and needed upgrading. I create artwork so I am constantly on Photoshop and Illustrator, working with high resolution files. The speed of this computer is absolutely breath taking. It opens applications within about 3 seconds, almost hard to believe. No more sitting on my hands waiting for apps to open or seeing the color wheel spin when I try to save a new piece of artwork. Also shipping was perfect. Delivered quickly and was nicely protected. Awesome computer!
I bought the 8-core, 64GB, Vega 64 model because I was falling behind on a project with my old Mac Pro Trashcan. So far Ive been very happy. Some operations are only 50% faster, but many are 400% faster or more. Only gripe: the display is not as good as my 32 Dreamcolor. I wish they had a headless version. Will probably end up buying the new Mac Pro when it comes out later this year. I would have bought the 10 core version but this one was on sale. The important thing is that my project is back on schedule.

I bought it for gaming , its for everything but gaming
Okay so it might sound stupid that i bought it for gaming . i am a photographer and a gamer which made me think a lot before buying my one and only desktop solution. I have All the apple products which makes it a logical decision but as a gamer i wanted a strong performer for gaming as well. Good, but....
Awesome machine, but I take one star off because of the magic mouse. When I turn on the machine, the mouse will not wake up by itself. I have to rub the bottom of it with my finger, and press the buttons like crazy then it comes to life. Also, I have an Epson 3880 printer and its very difficult to select paper types. The printer worked great with a PC, but using the iMac, the printer dialog box is not friendly.

Silent and superfast
I need speed for running Adobe CC Suite apps and with 64Gb RAM this does a great job. Ive mixed 4K and HD footage and the processors didnt flinch. Plenty of ports for peripherals so I can expand as needed. Display is beautiful and the solid state hard drives are very, very quiet. When it arrived, I unpacked, loaded Adobe and Office suites and was fully operational by the end of the day.

iMac Pro 27
Awesome machine! Though replaced an aging 2008 Mac Pro so comparison is weak. But fast, free delivery from B&H and easy setup (Migration Assistant did not work, but large capacity external drive and cable adapters worked fine). I do nature and wildlife photography - increased workflow is excellent - highly recommend.

Great replacement for my old Mac Pro
I love my new iMac Pro as a replacement for my old Mac Pro which could no longer handle FCP & upgraded operating systems. The transition has been easier than expected. The only problems have been with downloading my old software packages. There is so much less cabling to deal with and the system is so much faster.

Apple 27 iMac Pro is Great - Microsoft Windows, not so much
Replaced a 27 iMac 3.3/32GM/2TB FU with this beast. Do video work mostly and this is does the job much much quicker and cleaner. Processes that employ a single processor seem to run a tad bit slower than on the old machine; however, anything that enjoys/employs multiple CPU usage fly. Looks great and seems fast
I replaced my late 2012 i7 iMac with the Late 2017 iMac Pro. I imported my data from Time Machine with only a couple of issues with specific applications needing to be reinstalled. Powerful, fast and beautiful
I bought the eight core cpu, 32 GB Ram, 2 TB SSD, 8 MB Radeon Pro Vega 56 graphics card. I don't do much video editing but I do a lot of multiple applications and virtual machines running all the time. High Sierra macOS is great at distributing the load across all the CPUs. The 2 terabyte solid state drive makes everything load fast and write fast to disk. The space grey screen, keyboard, and trackpad are beautiful. I make full use of the 4 USB 3.0 AND 3.1 ports with two external 2 TB WD - a Time Machine drive, and another backup drive.

Great Commercial Edit Suite
Finally we have a professional level offer from Apple. Our studio has mostly switched to PC builds for all of our 3D and composite workstations, but the editors were the last to let their macs go. Now they can stop complaining (lol). Thanks to B+H for having this build at the ready as it would have taken weeks to order it from Apple. Saving on the tax was pretty great too.

So far so good.
So far this thing is amazing. It handles most everything we can throw at it, including some pretty effects-heavy 4K. The biggest issue so far is networking a connection fast enough to handle what this machine can process.

Almost Perfect
I tried a 10 core with base everything else and it was a lemon. Very fast processing, but not stable at all. Apple let me trade that in for a top of the line i9. I thought 6 cores would work... Nope - Throttled before and after the update to around 2.2-2.5. This is an incredible machine. I just really hate Apples crazy price gouging when it comes to storage upgrades. I got 2 SanDisk Extreme SSDs here for $530 each so I have 1TB at 3000 mb/s and 4TB 550 mb/s... for a quarter of the price Apple charges.

not as advertised
I bought this system back in January, had been constantly crashing whenever it was given a normal encoding task plus it was heating a lot. I thought it was software so I deleted and re-installed the software, but still no luck, so I took it to apple they had to replace the logic board. It sill heats up a lot and slows any task given to it. There is a lot of hype as the iMac Pro is somehow a blazing fast machine but in reality I didn't see a big difference from my old 3.0 Mac Pro trashcan and iMac Pro, infact in running Premier CC Mac Pro was Faster than iMac Pro

Raw Power
I have been a Mac and Apple user since Apple II days. The iMac Pro is my fourth iMac. The one that it replaces is a late 2015, full house iMac. I use it for processing large still images (Nikon D850) and use it with Adobe CC and Topaz plug-ins. It's great when it works. Crashes all the time.
I am getting scores of kernel panics in the "Bridge OS". It's super fast, and very quiet when all is well. Customer Support has no experience with actual problems. I spent weeks reinstalling the OS and running as a new user and other silly things (for a month old computer). Still not fixed. Proceed with caution.

1st I will buy again from BH photo video. The Imac pro arrived in 3 days from NY to Miami as advertised and in excellent packaging conditions. I do videos for school plays, music videos, weddings and so on. This machine runs flawless with FCPX latest version editing your videos from 4k to 1080p projects fast enough to work on the next one. iMac Pro lives up to the hype
If you are a Mac user you will love this machine. I use Lightroom, Final Cut Pro x and Ableton Live 9. Replaced a 2011 27" i5 quad that still works.
