I own horses that are in large pastures; this lens is perfect for captuing their beauty from afar. The photos are alawys amazingly clear.

Excellent All-Purpose Lens
I really wanted a lens in the 16-80mm or 18-100mm range but that lens is not currently available for the NEX system. I studied every review and comment available on the three 18-200mm lenses, and this lens received by far the best ratings. It is also the most expensive and the largest. an excellent all-round lens
I have had this lens for about 3 weeks and have been using it on my Sony NEX-7 camera. It is an all-round lens and works very well. It seems likely that for almost all purposes, this is the only lens you need on a Sony NEX camera.

Very Poor Lens
This lens has many major flaws. First, the exposure shift between wide and tight is extreme. It makes zooming just about impossible under any kind of low light. Second, the focus ring seems to barely communicate with the lens internals. You turn the ring and wait and see what happens. Maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't. You try again. And again. Excellent performer
One great all around lens, well built and solid. Had purchased the LE version first and did not like it. It was soft at 200, not usable for even casual photography. Not sure if it was a bad copy but there was a difference in performance both optically and focusing in very low light. For just two ounces more and a bit fatter, don't seems make a difference. If you want the LE might as well save money and buy the Tamron. They seem to be one and the same? Can recommend this lens with no reservations.

You Get What You Pay For
For years I've photographed birds and wild animals and have been handicapped by inexpensive zoom lenses. . especially shooting white birds. . but not so with this wonderful new lens. . it is clear, clean, detailed, focuses easily. . and combined with the NEX-7s 23+ megapixel resolution takes incredible images. . .it isn't too heavy for this photographer. . it definitely is almost as expensive as the camera body on its own. . but worth every penny based on the comments on my shots.

love it
i have this mounted on an nex 5n and it has been a blast. this is the first lens i have ever bought, so i have nothing to compare it to, but the quality seems great when you hold it solid doest feel cheap at all. i did a lot of comparing this lens to the tamron 18-200 and i fell like this was a good buy i have not had any problems with the lens falling in or out like a lot of people complained about i tested it a few times to to get it to do it on its own and it as not, maybe sony has fixed that problem. this lens has opened up a new world of photographing for me and recommend it to anybody.

smooth operation, performs as advertised

Lens takes the picture photog creates
This lens rivals almost anything out there, it is what you do with it to make it a great lens. The kids out there think if the camera doesn't do all it has to be bad, most out there don't even know the sunny 16 rule.

Awesome
I use this lens for everything now on my NEX-7. It was a little pricey but I guess that is to be expected with the quality. I was a little hesitant but I'm super happy with my purchase now. I live in Hawaii, currently out in Colorado though taking some amazing pics and getting used to it before I head to Alaska soon. The lens is pretty heavy but doesn't affect my use. It takes great pictures, love this lens.

Telephoto review
I just got this lens and haven't had too many opportunities to use it fully. I like the feel and build quality. The photos I've taken so far have been sharp and clear and have good color range. It'll take quite a bit more use to give a full review, which is why I've rated the lens a 4 star and not higher or lower, but I anticipate that the current rating is going to be on target.

Great All-Around Lens
Seriously, if you are looking to buy an 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens, expect that it is going to be large. There is just no way around that. This is a great lens. I have used it for fast action sports (10 FPS), portraits and general use photography. It takes great indoor basketball and volleyball action pictures. It focuses fast and accurate. Super lens for super camera
A versatile lens for the flagship NEX camera. Effectively a 28mm lens equivalent it does a good job for most indoor work and of course with the steady shot facility works very well in the outdoors. One gripe, the lens and NEX7 inbuilt flash don't work below say 50mm for indoors. A huge smudge shows itself in the lower left corner.

Great Addition to my NEX 7
Seems to be an excellent lens in my first couple of weeks with it. Very good built quality, reasonably fast focus and excellent photos. It is a bit large (diameter), especially on a NEX camera, but it is still smaller and lighter than the equivalent Nikon 18-200mm on my Nikon D7000 DSLR. This lens is now my standard walking around lens, and the combination with the NEX 7 is excellent.

Sony e-mount 18-200. Fantastic Lens!
Purchased the Sony e-mount 18-200mm f3.5/6.3 lens for my NEX 5n. The 18-200mm focal length is ideal for almost all conditions and therefore this lens stays on my camera 95% of the time. You can travel with this lens and can do wide and zoom shooting without having to carry anything else except for maybe a fast prime. Mixed bag
I bought it to be on Nex-7 camera most of the time; It's pretty heavy and bulky, but the most annoing feature is a very slow focusing, and sometimes no focusing at all, especially at low light or closeups.

Video use ONLY
No OSS switch; no distance scale. The work around according to the PDF furnished with the NEX 7 Measure it ! Unacceptable for a still photographer. If used on a tripod, a menu trip is necessary to turn off the OSS

Not the greatest
Heavy, large and expensive. Tried to go portable and small with an Nex-7 but having this lens on makes the sytem so big that I might as well bring my Nikon D800 with my 28-300.

all purpose lens
This is my first and at this time only lens. It works great as an all purpose lens. The range of focal lengths covers all my needs, and the lens is pretty sharp. I don't like the size and weight of the lens.

perfect all around lens
This is the lens that stays on my Sony NEX3 most of the time. It delivers a great shot every time. I bought this lens when it was first released. The price has since then creeped up, but overall, I use it for everything.
