Sony 16-50 f/2.8 Lens is Fantastic!!
I have owned my SonyA700 for four years and have used the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 with that camera for most of that time. I was really hesitant to purchase this Sony lens because it was almost the same as I already had. There is NO comparison! The lens is sharp, sharp....and the colors are super! I have no regrets.

Just Okay
I am a hobbyist, so it's recreational. The pics were comparable with a much cheaper camera that I have. The quality was also not even near a lens that I had tried that was slightly more expensive. It was also heavy and the auto/manual switch on the lens was not in sync with the camera.

You will love this lens.
I use this as my primary zoom lens. At 24-70 equivilant I get nice wedding shots, as well as awesome low light band photos. It is curious that Sony chose not to advertise the SSM motor, as it is near silent, fast and accurate. Regardless, if you are a Sony user you'll want this lens.

Worth every penny!
I was looking for a great wide angle addition and I found it! Try the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 and I was very disappointed. I took the chance to pay more $ for this Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 and it pays off. It's a bit too big to handle easily, but nothing that you couldn't manage.

Extreemely versatile lens
I needed a lens that could do wide-angle as well as telephoto in a low light setting. It works well when shooting indoor real-estate. It's not a real performer if you need to shoot close-up from a long way off, but it is absolutly perfect for most of my needs.

Excellent Lens
I have used this lens in low light situations in air craft museums. The images are razor sharp with fantastic color. This lens sees every detail. I have used it on my A65 and A77 in other situations and the results are the same sharp detail and color.

Wish I'd bought it sooner
This is to replace my kit lens for my A57. I can not belive the difference its mades. Images come out sharp and clean. I also have a Tamron 18-270 which i just love but decided to go with Sony Brand on this one and I am very pleased .

GREAT all around lens!
I LOVE this lens! It works perfectly for everything I've thrown it's way! I mostly use it for shooting mountain biking which usually is in challenging light situations. It's my go to lens for almost everything!

Fast and crisp
Great taking pics at grandkids high school basketball games, indoor natural light pictures are superb. No flash shadow. Fast focusing,love the lens. Compact and light enough for my use. Use with A77.

Excellent all around lens.
I bought this lens together with the A57. It's a great combination. The sweet spot is at f4.0 at any focal length. Excellent colours and bokeh. Very fast AF but quite. It is the G DT lens from Sony.

A great alpha mount lens!
I needed a wide angle zoom for my Sony FS-100 and this one is perfect. It's fast, and relatively light. And mounts onto my Alpha LA-EA1 adapter.

This lens is amazing!

16-50mm f/2.8 Standard Zoom Lens by Sony
