love love love my new RX100 V
i took my new camera on a 4 day trip through colorado. i took some of the best pics ever! i love this camera big time. the selfie mode is really awesome. changing settings is easy. love that i can wifi a pic to my phone for easy posting to social media. love this camera.

Great Pocket Travel Camera
The thing I like best about this camera is its small, fit in your pocket design and the fact that is shoots 4K. The auto focus is amazing and is actually better than advertised. Love the 4K image quality from the 1 inch sensor. The footage blends well with my GH5 main camera video. Now here is what I don't like: #1 Battery life is awful. Serious Quality Small Camera
I was looking for the overall best quality small camera for my wife to carry in her purse. We wanted photo quality near to an SLR but with the have it with you potential of a Smart Phone. The RX100 V delivers especially on low light conditions where other small form cameras come up short.

Great Pocket Camera
I bought this camera in May 2017 because I did not want to take my DSLR on a European tour. When I got home I was very impressed at the quality of the pictures it took. I don't do video, so I can't comment on that, but the stills were very good. I did some comparison shots between it and my full frame DSLR and was amazed at how close the RX100 V came to the DSLR. Great for a Rookie
The whole point of me buying a camera is to capture better photos and videos on the go and be less dependent on a smartphone camera. After a couple of weeks with the camera, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and the quality. I really do like the clarity, the raw photos, and the features it has. Camera exceeded my expectations. Many great features
This camera was originally purchased due to its ability to shoot quality video. I was absolutely blown away by the auto focus ability on it and never thought that a camera would shoot video as well as it does. I have read about the camera getting hot while shooting videos of 5 minutes or more, however, I did not experience this myself. It is a powerhouse of a camera in a very small package. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something portable without giving up on so many options.

My Third RX100
This is the third one of the RX100 series I have owned. I guess I like them! My wife uses the original and the M3 went missing on our return from SE Asia. I replaced it immediately with the M5 because there is nothing else on the market that can do what these cameras do in a small package with exceptional build quality. Terrific compact camera
We just completed a tour of Ireland where I was nearly ambivalent whether I had my Canon 7D Mark 5 or the Sony DSC-RX100 V along. Terrific picture quality including outstanding depth of field. I will always make room for this camera on all trips including business trips were I might find a few interesting photos.

Big camera in a small package
I purchased this camera for everyday video use (vlogging). It's easily small enough to fit in a coat pocket, but still shoots beautiful video. Really does everything I need it to.

Amazing so far
I went from the Sony A7 to this and it's not much of a downgrade. Full frame photos offer, obviously, another degree of resolution and light-capturing ability but the difference is not that big. For a camera/lens combo that's less than half the price and fits in my pocket, that's an amazing trade off.

Outstanding little camera
I have looked for the best smallest camera available at any price as I am hiking - motorcycling and walking in my work in rural Africa and need a great camera quickly accessible off my belt. The semirigid case is the best!
Has the essentials to get started. I like the ability to fit a spare battery in the semirigid case., and the case protects the camera well. The soft case I actually use to store the charge cables and a battery charger

A great camera for my pocket or palm
I never leave home without a camera, which makes this the perfect pocket, or palm-size camera. My favorite Sony a6000 and a6500 cameras are a little bulky to carry every day, but they are my first choice for other shots,and alll of my customizable items are the same on all cameras. That is a great feature for me as converted Sony user. I'm sorry this camera was not around a few years ago when I was a cameraman with CBS News. In those days I carried my 35mm Leica. Best compact camera
So far, I love this camera even though there are limits to the capability. I am aware of the overheat problem with this camera and still think it's ok for my need, but I did not expect it to overheat when I record 4k video at 30 sec at a time for 10 or more times.

Little marvel
This is a little marvel. I am particularly impressed by its continuous focus in video -- fast, smooth, doesn't hunt. Only wish it could do more than 5 min 4K clips. On the other hand, HD video is stunning enough.

Great carry around camera to capture every moment!
Tons of pros with this camera!! I love it! I've had it for a week now. Takes great pics, video, slow motion, etc....awesome auto focus and easy to pack around. I mostly keep this camera on my PIXI Mini Table Top Tripod which make for a great combo. I purchased this for its size, auto focus ability, and image quality. Love This Camera!
Probably the best point and shoot camera I've had the pleasure of using. I only give 4 stars because of issues with overheating when shooting 4K video, which will also drain the battery very quickly. Do not expect to shoot lengthy 4K video. The only other issue was slow focus speeds. I found the setting to change it to fast, but thought that it would have been set to fast by default.

Exactly What I Was Looking For, And A Bit Too Much
I've had this camera for about a month now, and just to add to the chorus... this thing is incredible. I bought it for the express purpose of wanting DSLR quality pictures without lugging around my DSLR and its lenses. I am *stunned* at the results. Works well, but...now in for repairs
Had this camera for 1 month, liked the quality of the photos, IS worked very well and the low light photo and video was a much welcomed improvement over my older canon S-100. However, I just had it sent in for repair as the viewfinder pops up at random times turning the camera on (in its case or just sitting there...running down the battery, which unfortunately is as poor as described). They think the mechanical catch is not positioned correctly and is slipping. We shall see. Bought this in anticipation of a trip coming up soon and now it is a race between the repair and departure times.

Awesome Camera
I had a Fuji XT-1 and many of their top lens. But this little guy takes as good a picture as my Fuji camera and oh so, convenient. This will definitely go with me everywhere I go now. I still love my XT-1, but this Sony DSC V is my new love. A must have if you do a lot of hiking, traveling. Buy and you will absolutely love it.
