Excellent value for money
I strongly recommend the product. Excelent photos and videos by a good price. Does not record 4K videos, but records full HD and, let's be honest, 4K is not important. Comes with a good case a reasanable memory card.

Great camera
This was a gift for our 10 year old grandson who is very into photography. It does everything and takes excellent quality photos.

I am a photography enthusiast and this is a really easy and complete camera with an incredible zoom

Good for what it is, but it's not enough for me....
I bought this camera two years ago as a way of dipping my feet in the digital waters -- until this camera, I'd shot on film cameras and my cell phones' built-in cameras. My available time for darkroom activities was evaporating, though, so I wanted something more capable in the digital realm, and I picked this model because it offered more in the way of manual overrides than most in its class, without the cost of going all-in on a DSLR or mirrorl... Right out of the box
Even though I'm no tech wizard or pro-foto aspirant, it took only a few minutes to go from opening the box to taking satisfying photographs. I look forward to exploring the relevant features over the coming weeks and months. As well, it was obvious (and appreciated) that the case that came with the kit was sized just right for the camera. Thank you!

Definitely a good choice for long zoom and light weight
Geared up for the wildebeest migration in Masi Mara and gorilla stalking in Rwanda. Excellent choice for easy to carry camera that still get great shots. The nits that Sony could/should fix: (1) no way to connect the lens cap -it'll be lost in ten minutes! (2) need better how to use manual. The downloaded version contains lots of lists and tech specs -- but no where does it really explain how to use all the wonderful settings. I am certain that I... Show More

Absolutely in love
I bought this camera after months of preparation and inquiries into the best kind of camera to get for two upcoming overseas trips and to get me started in the world of photography. This one is perfect. The zoom is incredible, the detail phenomenal, and the image-stabilization is near perfection. I've taken it to baseball games, along walks in Manhattan, and I'm excited to see what it does while traveling. It's lightweight and powerful, and gets ... Show More

Many nice features but...
I like the pano feature, the macro shots it takes, and the video. All good. But to be fair, the ultra-zoom shots are not very good. And isn't that why people want an ultra-zoom? I've tested several brands and they all come up short. So I've decided I will keep this one for the features I do like, and realize I will not get the zoom shots I want without attaching a big lens to my DSLR.

A back up beauty
I'm always ready for that unusual moment when you need a camera. This Sony will cover all the bases with fantastic zoom, great glass (Zeiss) and all the fundamentals that Sony incorporates into cameras.

This camera is better than expected.
This camera was purchased as a supplement to my Sony A560 digital SLR. To be used specifically for travel when I don't want to carry all of my DSLR equipment.

Best All-Purpose Camera For Its Price
I am very impressed with my Cybershot HX-400V. It's definitely worth buying. I especially love the apps and smart features it has. The camera can also zoom in very well and has great image stabilisation.

Sony Camera easy to use and lots of features
Nice features are the wireless transfer, tilting screen, extra range telephoto lens, fits in my hand very nicely. I like that the kit came with the bag and a memory card, making it a ready to go system.

Great camera, poor manufacture support for manual.
It's fine BUT I'm waiting for the printed instruction manual that costs $19 from another merchant. Sony only offers a download. Cheap!

Great portability for great pictures.
Super camera with great 50X optical telescopic range and excellent optics. The extreme detail shown on the high resolution LCD screen really aids in allowing you to tailor your results to satisfy your aims. Since I never use the digital addition to the telescopic range, having part of the viewfinder bar graph of the telescopic extent include it all the time is not appreciated. The 20 MP resolution combined with the excellent optics makes for great detail in my pictures. I could even count the hairs in my cat's ears when I took its picture.

Disappointing camera
Somewhat disappointing. The only reason to buy this camera at this price is for the very long lens. The picture quality is not great, the camera does not focus well on automatic at times, doesn't do well in low light, etc.

Nice Camera
Pros: The Zeiss zoom is sharp and photo quality is good. Cons: the view finder is small and not very useful.

I am amazed with this camera after 60 years as a shutterbug
I have been using cameras for over 60 years. My equipment range from top end SLRs to compact point and shoot. I own lenses from 10mm to 600mm. I have been shooting with this camera exclusively for the past 2 weeks. I am amazed by the quality of my photos. For many years the generally accepted concept that only a large sensor and a prime lens were worthy work tools. The advance of the photo camera and lens technology has shortened that distance be... A Good Point-and-Shoot
This is a good point-and-shoot camera for the novice or even as a backup for a serious photographer. Compared to prior Sony models, this camera is quite responsive. It allows for good manual control but also does a good job in program mode. It is certainly worth considering at this price point.

DSC-HX400V for birding
Great camera, I moved from an aging Nikon D90 to this. I mainly use it for birding. Autofocus is accurate and quick, with a intuitive manual focus over-ride. I think the quality is good - certainly not to the level of a FX DSLR, but for the money and portability this is tough to beat. I'd definitely recommend it. The wifi link to my phone works well to transfer pictures, but like all apps in the industry are moderately useful (I find no reason fo... Show More

Cyber-shot DSC-HX400V
Excellent step up from my Panasonic Lumix which is a top pocket-sized camera. The Cyber-shot gives me a much sharper image, the ability to photo burst, an incredible hand-held zoom, and all comes in a convenient sized unit.

Undecided
I have a Sony Cyber-shot from 8 years ago that just wasn't performing as it used to. I'm not a professional, nor do I know much about photography, but I do love taking pictures and I've been asked REPEATEDLY what kind of camera I have from pictures I have posted on social media sites. So it was easy for me to decide to upgrade with yet another Sony Cyber-shot. I can't say that I love the HX400V as much as my other one so far. My quirks are minor,... Show More

I've purchased this HX400 a couple days ago, its a very friendly user gadget...one thing that i'm concern is the camera shake warning and steady shot. You really need to use a tripod or monopod to use this camera.
