Nice camera, but lack of touchscreen is a big disadvantage.

May 16, 2017

Nice camera, but lack of touchscreen is a big disadvantage. You spend too much time scrolling through the menu to get your settings right. If you shoot auto then you will be fine with it. I shoot manual, so it is extremely frustrating, and for sports action I reverted to my dslr, because I was missing the action, concentrating on getting my settings right became a nightmare

Great camera for indie movies

May 12, 2016

Best camera in the price range. Good value for money. Battery life is not good. No overheating. Did some tests with shogun and video devices. Didn't find any major change in image quality with an external recorder. Graded the footage and tested on a professional 4K monitor 8 bit Xavc s will be adequate for short films etc Get good glass Overall a decent camera for the price

Wow!

May 19, 2016

What a piece of equipment! My first mirrorless. I was looking for a viewfinder, RAW capability and the option of using a Macro lens for photographing flowers. Although I am sorry the A6300 does not have GPS the other features more then make up for it- especially the electronic viewfinder and its diopter adjustment that personalizes the setting to my eyeglass correction.

It's worth the upgrade and love it

May 4, 2016

I have been a hapoy camper with the A6000 so upgrading to the a6300 was well worth it. This camera is a 2nd body along with the primary a7rII. I used each camera based on their primary design, but love the feel and fast response of the A6300. Sharp and quick focus. Battery lasts longer, focus is much quicker and more responsive the its predecessor. I would recommend it.

A6300 Shoots My FF A-Mount SSM Lenses

Mar 22, 2016

I purchased the A6300 mainly for still photography. I plan to use my FF A-Mount SSM Lenses w/LA-EA3 adapter and find the focusing quick and accurate (I usually shoot in manual with AF-C and Flexible Spot L). I have successfully been shooting BIF and find the tracking amazing. I will purchase only a couple native e-mount APS-C lenses. I may purchase a second A6300.

Great Camera Kit

Jun 10, 2018

I'm in love with my new camera. I'm used to DSLRs and this is my first time using a mirrorless. I can say that I wouldn't be happier. Small, light weight and great quality. The only con on that kit is the camera bag. It won't fit the camera body and the 2 lenses. I was a little bit disappointed with the bag, but maybe they will change the package in the future.

Solid Product

Jun 21, 2016

Working within the limitations of the product will really help with expectation management. We bought this product knowing that it had bad issues with jello, but the 4K with Slog was too hard to pass up. It proved to be worth it and I'm blown away every time I look at the quality. I have no regrets. Best purchase of the year coming from a Canon videographer.

Great place to shop for camera gear!

Nov 8, 2017

I was initially hesitant about ordering from B&H only because I have never ordered from them before but this experience has sold me on their reliable and fast service. Everything came quickly and on time through UPS (ordered in Canada). The camera works flawlessly and the free accessories were an added bonus + they got me out shooting day one! Thanks B&H!

Sony a6300

Aug 16, 2016

Great crop sensor camera. The quality of the photos and the minimal noise at high ISO is amazing. The camera is so light that I can walk around with it for hours without any problem. The menu is somewhat challenging at first but with a few YouTube videos, I was able to get the best setting for my type of photography (street, landscape and architectural).

A compromise, but great quality with the right lenses.

May 4, 2017

Great in low light, but maddening menu/button layout, mic input, but no headphone jack yet, and some heating issues reported still. Good viewfinder with very useful leveling indicator. Still the most bang for the buck in the compact 4K mirrorless division. I would skip the kit lens, except that its very small and has OSS. Get plenty of batteries.

Big step-up from my NEX-7

Mar 23, 2016

I've been waiting for an upgrade for the past couple years - wasn't satisfied with the flimsy feel of the a6000. The a6300 has improved image quality and very good tracking auto-focus. Coupled with face registration, I can keep my grandson in focus as he races around a playground filled with other kids. This is the upgrade I've been waiting for.

Excellent buy!

Dec 12, 2016

Giving 4 stars only because I have had the camera for just a few days. I was in the market for a semi-pro or mid-range DSLR but was swayed by ratings and the actual size of the camera. I was skeptical, but now pleasantly surprised by the performance as well as the features. The camera also allows a level of autonomy to the serious photographers.

An amazing camera, coming from an Sony A65!

Jun 23, 2016

I absolutely love the 6300. I had the 6000 but I think the upgrades are certainly worth it. The AF system is very quick and it has allowed me to take some amazing action shots of my son's basketball and soccer games. I took it recently to the Cleveland Cavaliers victory parade and the shots I got out it with the Sony 70-200 G F/4 were amazing!

What a Pleasant Surprise

May 5, 2017

I bought this camera when my a7Rii was injured in an accident and sent off for repairs and have fallen in love with the a6300. This little gem has been incredibly useful for landscape, wildlife and night photography. I've been thrilled with the results I've gotten and am almost convinced that it may be true that accidents happen for a reason.

Good camera, but...

Dec 25, 2016

The camera is excellent; every strenght and weakness already widely described is true. The B&H service, perfect as usual, but.... SONY only sells the optional software to a small bunch of countries around the world, so, I can't use the camera to the full extent of its capabilities. RIDICULOUS !! I'll never buy another SONY product in my life.

Mar 24, 2016

Bought this camera to do some 4k interviews and music videos . I have not shot any music videos yet but did some shoots around the house and I am very happy I bought this camera . Pictures are crisp and to my surprise very decent in low light using the Sony 50mm 1.8 lens . The price is what grabs me the most under a grand wow very very nice.

a6300 is awesome

Apr 4, 2016

Being just a novice that loves to take photos, the new a6300 is performing beyond my expectations. I am still learning of all it can do and so far the photos are better than post card quality. I froze a hummingbird in flight and the details are so finite that every feather is perfect. The a6300 is simple to use and easy to understand so far.

The perfect camera for my needs!

Oct 13, 2016

Love this camera! The size is absolutely ideal, first of all. But I love that I can change the lens! (Although the kit lens isn't nearly as terrible as other online reviewers would have you believe - it totally gets the job done!) It's easy to use but still allows for a lot of decision making on the photographer's end with shooting manual!

Great images but overheats

Jun 7, 2016

Does a lot of great stuff. Great size and great images. Was thinking about getting a couple more for the current doc we're shooting but it overheats after about 20min of shooting video. The images are really great but not being able to rely on it 100% of the time is problematic. Will use it as a sometimes secondary camera and for photos.

Love the A6000, love A6300 more

May 30, 2016

Some will say that the upgrade to the A6300 isn't worth it but I have found a lot to love in this camera. It has a more solid feel than the 6000 and the lens mount is considerably more sturdy and tight. The focusing options and the EVF are big improvements for me. Focus speed is only slightly improved, but the A6000 was already quick.

Subtle but significant improvements over the A6000

Mar 23, 2016

I am an avid amateur photographer who uses the camera for both portraits and events as well as travel. It has the best autofocus system I have ever used. This is great for children. I do a small amount of video and it is excellent. Focus tracking, face recognition and 11 frames per second make this part of the essential family camera

Fantastic Camera

Jun 14, 2016

So far, I love this camera. I've used it pretty much exclusively for video, and have been thrilled with it's performance. The video looks great, it's low light performance has been everything I needed, and it's auto focusing features have really opened up use of a small 3-axis gimbal for me without having to hope the focus is okay.

Made the switch to mirrorless - glad I did.

Mar 30, 2017

Have been a Nikon DSLR shooter for years; big cameras, big lenses, flashes. Wanted something smaller for vacation travel and family events. Though it comes with a steep learning curve for Nikon shooters, it fills the requirement perfectly. Great quality pictures. Super performance at high ISOs. Very versatile. Learning to love it.

Muy satisfecho

Feb 17, 2017
