Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens Deluxe Kit (Graphite)
Great compact w/ pro potential!
Camera is a secondary to a primary Canon DSLR system. Upgraded from NEX 5T and addition of viewfinder alone makes all the difference. Camera has potential to be a game changer to the shooter growing tired of their bulky DSLR. The A6000 responds well with color and focus---much more like what you'd expect out of a pro level camera. It's fast and not too awkward on the interface. Noise at high ISO is noticeable but not too annoying. Body feels good... Show More

Meets/Exceeds All Expectations
I hate dragging my 7D and Canon gear on family outings and vacations. I experimented with a couple similarly priced m43 cameras. They always failed with action. I took the family to Disney and left the m43 at home and took the 7D because I didn't want to miss anything due to the camera. When the A6000 was announced, I had REALLY high hopes. Whether it is actually the world's fastest autofocus or not does not matter. This thing performs and does n... Show More

Solid, Responsive Camera
I just got the camera, so I am still comparing to my NEX-6. Paired with the Zeiss 16-70mm, I find the IQ of my shots is excellent. The auto focus speed is amazing. The camera also feels solid. In build it remind me a bit of the Fuji's. Still working through performance with my other lenses, and haven't done any low-light shooting yet, but so far so good!

Good Value
I've only had the camera for about a week now, but I've had enough chance to use many though not nearly all of its numerous features. I had pretty high expectations from this camera considering the top reviews it has received at its launch, and for the most part my expectations were met. The fast focus system works pretty much as hyped--very fast and pretty good at tracking. The photo quality is very good, even with the kit lens I've been using (... Show More

Perfect size
I love my Sony a6000 so far. I'm still getting use to it, but the camera is easy to figure out. I also have a Lumix (10MP) DMC-LX5 which started acting up right after the warranty went off. It changes settings in the auto mode to settings from the Scene mode. The Sony a6000 is nice because you don't have to dig into the menu as deep as some other cameras. I don't like the in camera battery charger, so I bought a charger and a extra battery. What's nice about buying a battery from B&H is you will get the original equipment (Sony battery) & not a knock off.

Beautiful pictures and a solid feel!
Bought this camera to use on safari in Africa. My wife and I are amateur enthusiasts and decided agains lugging a DSLR on a ten day hiking safari. The size is perfect and the feature sets match our needs. The menus are easy to get around the body feels really good in hand. The included lens is solid and will work well as a walk-around lens that requires little thought. I really like the view finder, it makes me feel closer to the shot. Images are stunning and image type option including RAW are stellar. -1 star for not including the external charger and having only one memory card slot.

AF and Focus Tracking Deliver
I purchased the a6000 primarily for the AF and focus-tracking promised by Sony's newest hybrid contrast/phase system. Works like a charm. Great for action photos.

the ideal hybrid camera
the ideal size and weigt, the quality of the images is top in jpeg and more in raw possibility to put others lenses like leica or zeiss with adaptable rings. the negative point is the battery , impossible to charge without camera.

Very nice camera package
I am just getting back into photography after a few decades of a hiatus. My last 'good' camera was a Pentax SP1000, so that's a relic. I stayed out of the digital world except for point and shoot cameras as prices were high and quality, so-so. I waited until the mirrorless cameras could do what the big Nikons and Canons can do. I'm older and didn't want to carry around a big, heavy camera so the A6000 is perfect for me. The quality is amazing. I ... Show More

Excellent DSLR substitute
When portability is paramount, this camera system is an excellent substitute for my big Nikon D4 and D800. It takes surprisingly excellent images and is very versatile as a travel and portrait camera. The din standard flash hot shoe is a key feature for me because I like being able to trigger lights with Pocket Wizards and getting off camera flash going. I took this to Hawaii and found it to be a great hiking companion. I took a lot more photos t... Show More

Powerful Lil Camera
Great mirrorless camera at a great price. Love it so far. Images are great. I shoot in Raw and JPG to see differences and the JPGs look pretty good. I tend to only edit Raw photos tho. A little more time consuming using Photoshop to edit Sony Raw files - you have to download the Adobe DNG coverter for it to open up in Adobe Camera Raw (I tend to use PS instead of Lightroom since I already have CS6 and don't want to get Lightroom right now). Oh, a... Show More

I Love my A6000!
Many years ago I was a sharp eyed, clear headed semi-pro photographer. I shot hundreds of images each week and developed them myself in my home darkroom- so I know my way around a camera. I understand shutter speed, f-stops and ISO (formerly ASA) and how they interact.Today, I'm a stressed out Senior with deteriorating eyes who simply wants a great camera that is small enough that I'm willing to take it with me when I go out.So far, the A6000 fit... great, light substitute for DSLR
I am taking a beginning DSLR course so I am not an expert on cameras. However, I had been using a Canon EOS40D and I had no trouble transitioning to this mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. The Sony a6000 is very compact. I am able to put it, a telephoto lens, an extra battery, and a charger in a small camera bag made for Sony Nex 7. The fact that they removed the level that was in the Sony Nex 7 is a disappointment as is the smaller yet quite bright EVF.

Sony A6000 with 16-70 lens
I made the transition to mirrorless, mainly due to the size of the camera. I find that the A6000 produces nice photos with sony 16-70 lens in most lighting. The hybrid focus very fast. Most important is, it's fun and easy to use. I highly recommend this camera,I still love my Canon 6D with 24-105 prime lens, don't sell your DSLR full frame camera- not now. Sony still my second camera with 16-70 lens as of today it works for me.

Excellent Camera, Get it Now!
This is an excellent camera, and one that I highly recommend. I bought the A6000 to use alongside my Nikon D800, and formerly my Canon 5D III (stolen). I wanted a system that was very capable, yet, very compact and small enough to carry around all day without regretting that I took it with me in the first place. To sit alongside the D800 and 5D III, the camera had to perform. I must say, now that I have been using the A6000 for the past couple of... Show More

Fast and light
I love this camera because of the super fast auto focus and fps capability. It's much lighter than my dslr also. I love the fact that all of my e-mount lens used on my sony video cam are interchangeable. This cuts down the amount of gear that I have to lug around dramatically. The video quality is great but the audio is limited. 2 improvements that are desperately needed to give this camera 5 stars are a 3.5 mm audio connection and a change of location for the video record button. The button is in an awkward spot. For the price this camera is great though.

Nice camera
Very nice. Solid upgrade to the NEX6. More precise highlight focus aid feature implementation when using Leica/Zeiss glass. Grip is slightly more robust than NEX. Makes the camera feel more substantial in hand without actually making the camera significantly bigger. Menu system is like A7--much more to my liking than the NEX6 menu. IQ is very nice. Very pleased so far. Fast focuser for mirrorless; however, it hunts in lower light where my EOS system would not have had any trouble. But, it is much easier on the back and neck than carrying an EOS system. Pairs nicely with the 16-70 zeiss.

Sony hits the sweet spot
I've been shooting for 40+ years mostly 35mm, but also some large format. My last film rig was a Leica M system. I bought the A6000 with the Sony/Zeiss 16-70, and have just looked at some photos taken with that lens and also with my M 50 Summilux and 35 Summicron. My results have been fabulous. The Zeiss compares favorably with the M primes, and although I'll leave the Zeiss on most of the time, its nice to have the ability to use the M glass. Th... Show More
