Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Silver)
Great Camera
I've always had a good eye for photos but always was too cheap to buy a nice camera. I decided that I was going to finally get one and after a lot of research, decided to go with the Sony a6000. I've only had it about two weeks and still a lot to learn but loving the quality photos so far. The online seminar by Gary Fong that B&H put on was a big help with learning the camera too! I had been checking all of the competitors prices for the camera f... Show More

Beats my latest DSLR!
Just bought this over the holiday weekend, so I don't have too much time with it, but all I can say is WOW! I shoot both stills and video and both in similar modes and with similar lenses outperforms my old Canon 60D with ease. The video quality is exquisite and taking photos at ISO3200 shows little to no grain in my opinion. There are also many crazy technology improvements over other cameras in this body. Amazing Camera for the price
This camera is fantastic, especially for the price point. I have been using an A7 since January, and then bought this as a second body. The camera preforms in a very similar fashion to the a7, with a much faster motor which allows you take photos at 11fps. I would recommend this over an A7 for anyone who shoots sports, or is interested in having a very high quality compact camera. The only reason in my opinion to get the a7 over the a6000 is for ... excellent camera
I still use full frame larger DSLRs for in-studio portraiture, but for travel, I've moved completely to the Sony mirrorless E-Mount system. I use the A7; this a6000 replaced an NEX-7 (which I gave to a son for his trip). I've used in now for about a month. It is very quick focusing and somewhat better high ISO than the NEX-7. It's a pleasure to use. The menus are the same as the A7; the camera is totally customizable. Images are excellent. Video ... Show More

Very Gratifed
Have been a Nikon devotee for many years. I own the Nikon D3, 7000, and 800E. I was wary of getting a Sony camera at this time. However, I was gifted an a6000 and couldn't be more pleased. I have 9 Nikkor lenses, including several primes but plan on purchasing a Metabones adaptor for Nikon F lenses to use them on the a6000. The a6000 possesses all of the features that I want in any camera and its portability will be appreciated when my wife and I... Show More

After my NEX 7 body died....
Bought the Alpha a6000 after my NEX 7 body died (after 52,000 images--I'm not complaining)--with a little trepidation--the price of the 6000 is about half of what I paid for the NEX7--so I worried that the quality would be a step down-- Fortunately, this does not seem to be the case--the camera feels familiar, even though some of the controls are in different places--the double thumb wheels on the NEX 7 have been replaced--but I like the mode whe... An Amazing Little Camera!
I wanted a light, small backup camera for my heavy full-frame DSLR. After doing extensive research I decided to get the Alpha A6000. For the price, I can't imagine a better camera. It suits my needs perfectly for street photography, portraits, and travel. The video capability is exceptional for a still cameraof course, I would have expected that from Sony, with their years of building high-quality camcorders. The audio quality for videotaping exc... How Cheap Can Sony Get?
Sony doesnt even include a separate battery charger. It must help their bottom line when you order a separate charger so you dont have to tether your phone to an adapter to recharge the battery. What a disappointment when a person opens the gift and has to wait hours to get it usable. Without the charger, you will be out of commission until the camera which is tied up charging the battery internally gets enough charge to make it usable. No other ... Show More

Fantastic camera
I have always struggled with indoor and action shots. This camera has virtually eliminated those problem areas for me. The coloring for indoor shots is great and the camera has a bunch of options to adjust for different indoor conditions that actually work. With the 11 fps (which is just a blast to shoot with) I have not really missed a moment with action shots and have also been able to get a bunch of images in shooting bursts that I would have ... Size doesn't matter, it's how you use it
I replaced my Canon 7d MKII with this little beast and I have absolutely no regrets. Smaller, lighter, cheaper with extra features such as zebras, better wifi, and a tilt screen just to name a few. The continuous autofocus system on each camera is quite impressive and robust so I say Why not go for the lighter option! Of course it all depends on how rugged of a rig you need. For me, the a6000 fits the bill since I'm not out in the jungle or on th... Show More

Great compact w/ pro potential!
Camera is a secondary to a primary Canon DSLR system. Upgraded from NEX 5T and addition of viewfinder alone makes all the difference. Camera has potential to be a game changer to the shooter growing tired of their bulky DSLR. The A6000 responds well with color and focus---much more like what you'd expect out of a pro level camera. It's fast and not too awkward on the interface. Noise at high ISO is noticeable but not too annoying. Body feels good... Show More

COMPACT AND CAPABLE COMPANION
Since my main digital camera is a Sony A7, this was a logical choice for something lighter (boy, has the mirrorless revolution spoiled me!) and more inconspicuous as a go-everywhere camera. Controls and functions are nearly identical, which is to say that they are logical and intuitive. Great finder, almost the equal of its big cousin. Excellent image quality, solid construction considering it isn't a pro model. Paired with the 20mm pancake lens,... Show More

Outstanding camera
I bought my wife an A6000 when they first came out. I was impressed by the quality of photos it took. My main camera is a Sony A99ii with several lenses that range from 17-400 mm. that I use for RAW landscape photography. I have all of it in a Think Tank roll case that is fairly large. I wanted a small camera that I could leave in jpeg and treat as as a point and shoot for travels that space was limited and I knew wasn't going to involve lan... Show More

Excellent body and lenses in a small package
Despite not being the latest model of mirrorless camera, this small package doesn't lack in performance. Great shooting modes, the lenses are awesome, and I didn't have to break the bank to get performance that rivals my older DSLR system, which I spent much more on. Plus the Sony a6000 is a very lightweight camera body. The wireless transfer on the Sony can be a bit hokey, especially since they are transitioning to their new Imaging Edge apps ... Show More

I am very impressed with my A6000
B & H Photo is a very go company to do business with. I like their service and how fast they ship your items. This is the first mirrorless camera I have bought and it is taking me some time to get used to it. I like the pictures it takes plus the video pictures. The kit lens that comes with it (16-50mm) is a very good lens for the money. I am not a pro photography but I think the pictures taken with it are very sharp with alot of detail. The came... Great Camera!
Bought this camera for my wife. She loves it and is attending classes and really learning how to use it. I also bought the Sony A-Mount to E-Mount lens adapter so she could use my A-Mount lenses (the adapter is great) but that is for the future. Now, she's pretty busy learning the camera and using the a6000 book by David D. Busch. This camera has every feature we wanted except for GPS. The silver color is a nice change. Great piece of equipment!
I've been thrilled with this camera body so far. I've been using a pretty ancient DSLR for years now, and had always assumed that my next camera would be another DSLR, but came to realize that the smaller size and weight of a mirrorless platform would probably make it more likely that I'd actually take my equipment with me (rather than leaving it at home due to weight / bulk and missing many shooting opportunities). That has definitely been the c... Show More

I love this camera
I love this camera. I was looking for a smaller camera to replace my Canon 5D Mark III for vacations and general walk-around. I've been a Canon shooter for over 15 years but I feel (at the moment) they just don't have anything worth owning in the mirrorless (I've owned and sold my EOS M). I started reading reviews of Sony mirrorless cams and saw the stats of this camera so I had to give it a shot. This camera is great, fast and accurate (auto foc... Show More
