Fast, Small, and Light...But...
Ok I bought one of these the other day and for the most part so I'm impressed with how fast this little thing is. My only complaint is that it heats up fairly quickly. I transferred images off a portable hard drive I've been using and the T5 heated up fairly quickly. It was noticeably warm. This isn't a NoGo for me but I'm be watching this as the months go. Great SSD, not enough memory.
Its small, well built and a really valuable piece of equipment to have. My only "complaint" is the storage size, 500gb is good but when you are working on multiple projects and need the space it might be a bit of a problem but in a way thats what we signed up for when we got it right? Can't Be Trusted
Received the drive, tested it several times before taking it on the road. First time trying to backup all my photos, the drive became unresponsive. Verified the drive was defective by trying it access it on a variety of devices, including Windows, Mac and Android. (Was able to backup my photos to my spinning drive which I hoped to replace with the SSD.) Called Samsung and they exchanged the drive. The exchanged drive is apparently a refurbis... Show More

Poor documentation but great performance
Let me start out by saying that I probably use this SSD differently than what it was designed for. I use my 2017 IMac primarily for photography. I shoot primarily RAW files and I try and keep my iMac's internal SSD relatively uncluttered. I import my files to my Samsung T5 SSD, manage and process in LightRoom and backup automatically to an external hard drive using Time Machine. So far so good. Only one problem that I haven't figured out. Wanted to use the cable from my LEXAR 512GB SSD but the T5 was having nothing of that! I thought all USB to USB-C's were all alike. Go Figure.

Worthy Purchase
This reasonably priced SSD is a fast performer. I purchased three of them to replace my conventional HHDs, which house my image archives. After migrating about 2TB of data to the new drives (at agonizing HDD speeds), I can now access my archives in a jiffy. Fast and compact
Transferring large images to and from this drive are a breeze. I am happy that both USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables were included. A very dependable drive as are my other Samsung SS drives.

A great drive for music storage
I use this drive to feed my Oppo Universal Player music files. I have been very surprised that the quality of the audio has improved using the SSD based drive over the previous mechanical based disk drive used. The drive is all that I expected it to be except that it was formatted under the exFat file system. The drive is much faster under the HPFS file system.

Very compact, fast, and reasonably priced
This is a great little drive to carry with you on the go. It is fast, and is such a small size. I don't have to worry about dropping it, as it has no moving parts. I have it encrypted and carry all my important documents with me on it, that I may need if I am ever out. Well worth the price!

Great for travelling with my Surface Pro
I purchased this ssd to use with a 8gb ram Surface Pro to back up raw photos when travelling and photo shoots. So far, so good. It is fairly fast and small enough to pack in pouch with small mouse and power cord.

using as the start up drive for my mac mini
I used carbon copy cloner to transfer the apps and files from my slow internal drive to the T5, which is connected through a USB 3 port, and now using that as the start up. Much faster.

External iMac '17 Boot Drive
I'm using this drive as my primary iMac boot drive with macOS High Sierra (formatted HSF+) connected via the usb c cable. Its way faster than the internal 1 TB fusion drive, Word opens in 2 seconds vs 15 seconds before, and much easier to install than opening the iMac.

Small Size with lots of room for data
The size of this drive is so small i can put it into my pocket and not even know it is there, easy to transport anywhere. the price is good (because who would want something for free, lol). USB type C so transfer is fast. Definitely recommend if you need portable memory space!

Good but used more power than expected.
I purchased this particular external SSD because it works with Android, and I don't currently bother with having a PC and I use only Android devices. My two devices with USB 2.0 had a write speed of about 35MBps, which is about as fast as those ports are going to do. My Essential Phone PH-1 Wrote at over 100MBps. FAILED AFTER 6 MONTHS !!! BEWARE !!!
Failed after 6 months of minimal usage. Samsung warranty team is a joke and actually is some 3rd party company with lame and slow customer service. There are better drives on the market than this.

Compact and fast
