Perfect replacement for slow laptop drives!
My fiancee purchased a new HP laptop less than a year ago and it seemed to be really slow from the get go. When I finally looked at the specs it was what I expected. A 1 TB Western Digital Blue 5400 RPM drive was in it. I bought one of these for her and used the Samsung Migration tool and cloned her drive. Popped this sucker in and it was like a totally new laptop all over again. About 3 seconds from power on to login screen. These things smoke!

the best brand of SSD
longevity is amazing, the data migration tool is amazing (you have to do an internet search for it but it's very helpful!) and SSDs are amazing. Samsung SSD
The drive works great. Took maybe 10 minutes to clone the old drive OS and data to the new drive and it runs flawlessly. It installed in the case in another 10 minutes. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to replace an existing drive in their computer.

Solid Drive
Using this for an internal desktop backup drive. Operating system is on a 1TB SSD Samsung drive. Backing up large volumes of data on this drive going SSD to SSD is twice as fast as going from my old SSD to a mechanical disc drive. Pretty slick. I'm counting on some long term longevity out of this drive.

Good SSD
Grabbed it on BH with discount. Installed to my work Lenovo X230 laptop with no problems. Installed samsung magician ssd utility. Booting to W10 takes about 12 secs. Very good SSD everyday use (SQL 2016, KALI, office apps).

So much faster
Installation was quick and the Samsung migration software worked like a charm. My startup and overall performance has skyrocketed. The time it takes for me to start up, login, and use my computer takes the same time just to go from the locked screen to type in my password on my old HDD.

For those of us that can't wait for the prices to fall
We all know the prices for the older tech will eventually go lower, but some of us are impatient. The Samsung 1TB EVO 860 is working great so far and it was cheaper at B&H that my normal supplier Tiger Direct, who is still 50 dollars more. 15 second boot time, wow!
I bought the Intel NUC7PJYH Mini PC and 8Gb Crucial kit and installed Win 10 64bit Home, it's really nice, I didn't need much storage, so far so good, excellent for light duty work or play

Very Fast
I have a Lenovo 520 notebook with HDD. It is a good notebook, but very slow, especially at boot. With the HDD swapping through this SDD the boot was wonderful.

Straightforward add-on for Macbook Pro
My 2011 Macbook Pro was starting to feel very slow and the thought of upgrading from El Capitan 10.11 to High Sierra 10.13 pushed me to replace my internal hard drive. The installation and set up were easy and the performance is superb. Boot times now take half a minute instead of waiting for several minutes. Very pleased with the 860 EVO.

Super fast and reliable
I have 2 laptops with 1TB Samsung EVO SSDs so when the hard drive failed in my iMac I wanted one of these drives 2TB to replace it. I researched it and big difference I found between the 850 EVO and the newer 860 EVO is the number of write cycle they are rated for. The 860 EVO should last at least twice as long as the older model which I have been using for years. They are super fast and reliable.

Perfect replacement for my old HDD!
After doing days of research on the internet on the best SSD that costs less than $150, I purchased the Samsung 500GB 860 EVO. I've been using this for a couple of weeks and can safely say that I couldn't be happier with my decision. My 6 year old laptop (I have an ASUS U47A) is now as good as new! Installation was a breeze (just screwed the new drive in place of the old HDD in its caddy). I used the windows media creation tool to create a bootable USB drive and windows installation took just minutes. You can download Samsung Magician separately to monitor the health of your SSD.
