Nothing low end about this

Feb 5, 2018

I got this when it went on sale...I am using a panasonic g7...I have the Olympus 40-150 but it focuses too slow on the panasonic...This lens focuses very quickly...my images are very sharp...I have used it to shoot cityscapes and wildlife and portraits...it is multitalented and will render spectacular images providing you have good light....Providing you get a good copy I guarantee you will like this

Great additional lens to have in your bag

Apr 19, 2019

Im very happy with the performance of this lens. I mainly use if for video, but the stills are decent. Its perfect mid length and lets you get nice close up shots from a distance. The O.I.S. works better than I anticipated with my GH5s for hand held. If youre looking for one lens to do everything, this is not the one, but it is definitely a nice option to have on hand. The price was right too!

Bad experience on open box item

Aug 31, 2017

Bought a used open box lens to save money but it came with front chipped. They offered refund but I needed lens & kept it since I was short on time & funds. Besides false statements that this was an open box item after looking at pictures they all have a blotch on them that ruined pictures that were a once in a lifetime experience. So buyer beware some things are not as presented.

A Handy Mid Length Tele

Feb 5, 2013

I wanted an HD lens for videos, and this lens does a good job for portraiture and near distance action shooting. It is light weight, only a tiny bit larger than the kit lens, and the focus and zoom are nice and smooth. I'd rather the zoom range was more like 40-120mm, but then that would make it too much like the Panny 35-100mm and thus probably disuade buyers of that lens.

Good lens but some focus issues with mine

Aug 7, 2017

This lens is affordably priced and takes good sharp photos, but I am having trouble with focus in the higher mm range. When using in the 75 to 150mm range, the lens wants to focus on the distant object in the background and I have great difficulty in getting the lens to auto focus on the object of interest. I have resorted to manual focus in the higher telephoto range.

Great lens for the price

Nov 5, 2013

Considering the good build quality, good sharpness, and price, this lens is a bargain. At all but the longest focal length (150mm) this lens is quite sharp. I'm not seeing issues with CA or too much distortion. It's really small considering the range it covers; much more so than the 45-200. I love that it comes with a lens hood. I'm really happy with my purchase.

A Good Entry Level Zoom for Micro 4/3s

Mar 8, 2013

This zoom is light weight and feels like it belongs in the m4/3s system. It doesn't have the best bokeh nor is it the sharpest lens in the box, but it IS capable of producing good images and for the price, it's a deal. P.S.- I can't overstate how light this lens is, it's less than half the weight of some of the other zooms in this range. That's huge!

Dependable Lens

Mar 17, 2015

Overall you can't lose with this lens.It has good image quality, long reach.I would keep it even as a walk around lens. The only complaint is it does not match the sharpness of a prime lens like the Olympus 45mm 1.8. But a zoom is not going to ever be as sharp as a prime. The Bokeh was quite good on this lens.I would recommend buying this lens

Sharp image, beautiful colors

Apr 8, 2013

I bought this fine lens bundled with Lumix G5 + 14-42 lenswith $ rebate from B&H, it's a mistake not to buy. took a sunset photo using this lens at F8 long exposure, the image is crisp and sharp detail + colorfull clouds. Off course I want the prime lenses for my lumix camera, but this lens gives satisfying results for the time being.

Compact size and decent sharpness

Oct 30, 2013

This is a very practical lens for the m4/3 system. It is reasonably priced, compact and gives very good image quality wide open. I also own the Panasonic 45-200mm lens and this lens is smaller and sharper. If I could change anything about this lens, I would put an OIS switch on it and include a lens pouch. This lens is a keeper!

Probably a great lens

Sep 2, 2014

I ordered this lens to use with my BMDPCC it has image stabilization but it's controlled by the camera which the Black Magic Design Pocket Cinema Camera cannot do. Using the BMDPCC hand held with this lens with the BMDPCC's 3X crop factor it was hard to get a steady shot when using the zoom with out a tripod.

small, sharp, well-built, and a bit slow

May 20, 2014

I have had this lens only for a month. Love it so far. I own many other long pro lenses from the DSLR days (mostly Nikon). This lens is impressively small and light weight, yet still quite sharp. The hard plastic body is solid. I wish it was a f/2.8 lens. But then it won't be as small even for a MFT lens.

A much nicer lens than I expected

Oct 20, 2014

I purchased this to go with my Gx7 , It matches the kit lens perfectly, , the plastic is a very nice chrome .It's very well made for the money. Focuses very quickly and the stabilization seems to work fine. It's really sharp, surprisingly,soVery compact, It's a great deal for under $.

Tiny, inexpensive 90-300mm (equivalent)

Jan 5, 2014

This lens is fabulous! It is very small, has a great zoom range, and costs way less than you'd expect. When I go out with my G5 and my 14-45 and 45-90 zooms I'm ready for most shooting situations with minimal bulk and weight. Panasonic has hit one out of the park with this combo!

Nice lens for the price.

Dec 27, 2013

I've only had the lens a couple of weeks and have enjoyed using it so far. It's a nice telephoto zoom and it's good to cover the longer end where my primes can't reach. I guess the only thing is it would be nice if it was a bit faster but at the price I understand why it's not.

good lens

Jun 16, 2015

I bought this lens for the specific zoom range, rear right cam for perfomances with GH3. Bought 2nd to match other GH3 on left rear. Works fine but you must have enough light as this is a slow lens. Also, the aperture moves with the zoom, an unfortunate but workable effect.

Nice Travel Lens

Jan 22, 2013

Great lens for the price (can not afford 35-100). It is slow, but very sharp in good light. I use mostly to bring not so far subjects closer, it is not a great infinity lens. It is great at the zoo or markets, that type of thing. Would have given it 4.5 stars if possible.

Great lens for the Lumix G5! A quality build with sturdy alloy materials, very light and easy to zoom.I haven't tested the Vario 45-200mm, but I believe this lens is just as good - just a small reduction in focal length.Great buy for the end of the Japanese fiscal year.

Very sharp & lightweight.

Jan 12, 2016

This lens emphasizes the beauty of mirrorless systems with its size. Nice & sharp. The pics I've uploaded are not good by any means but they show the sharpness at f5.6 at 45mm & 150mm, out of the camera jpegs, taken with a G7, ISO 800, bounce flash.

Wonderful Lens!

Mar 5, 2013

I've become very fond of this lens. It's a wonderful tool for photographing flowers close up -- the long focal length helps with background separation. Ideal also for certain types of landscapes where I'm isolating an area at a distance.

Super Portable Zoom

Jul 27, 2015

I haven't fully checked out this lens yet, but it does seem like a really good compromise between size and zoom range. I usually work with primes, but occasionally need a long reach lens. This one fits my bill and my camera bag.

A great value!

Aug 25, 2017

I just needed a longer zoom and thought for the money it was not much of a gamble. So far I have found it sharp and easily worth more then I paid! Sure its not the fastest but with appropriate light its a great little lens!

Good go to

Jul 19, 2017

I found the Lumix 45-150 a good value lens that can add great flexibility to a m4/3 setup. Focusing, low light and sharpness are acceptable as is the build quality. You get what you pay for and hope for with this lens.
