Good camera for the money
I had previously used the GH2, but after 5 years of use I was beginning to experience problems with it that weren't worth the cost of repair. I bought the GH4 because it was $300 off and had a $150 gift card thrown in. The GH5 will be released in a few months and should be worth the wait for anyone seriously interested in video, which I'm not. I use the GH primarily as a carry around camera for street photography and travel, and I didn't want to ... Show More

GH-4 - for Gimbal use
I purchased the GH-4 to Fly it. Matched it with a Came-TV Mini 3 Gimbal, and a Panny 7-14 lens. Mounted on the Mini-3 this is the ultimate pocket super light weight wide angler flyer with the incredible video capability you already are well aware of.

Great All-Around Camera
Watch reviews om YouTube; pretty accurate. Great on-the-go camera for video. Not great in low light, but that's what you're buying.

Almost Perfect. Best Bang for Your Buck
Obviously no camera is perfect, but this one is close to it. You really do get the best bang for your buck. The internal 4k is beautiful. The image is so sharp I actually had to turn the sharpness down -5 in the settings. This camera is capable of VFR (Variable Frame Rate), but I wouldn't shoot at anything less than 60fps. The image quality does drop significantly at 96fps. Rolling shutter sucks, but that's every still body camera. The flip out t... Show More

Nice Camera, Good for Video as well as Stills
I use the GH4 for primarily personal use and few unpaid productions (I'm retired). It serves half the time as a 2nd camera and half the time as the primary 1st camera (or only camera). Although it holds up to it's reputation for filming 4K video, I have found it quite capable for taking stills. I have mounted the GH4 cage, and attached is an Atomos Ninja Flame 4K recorder, shotgun mic and sometimes a Zoom H4n audio recorder. I have the V-Log L up... Show More

I love this camera.
I got this to use on trips and as a day-to-day camera. While the photos are not quite as nice as those from my Canon 6D and the video not as quite nice as that from my Blackmagic Production Cinema 4k, I would say this camera is much more portable, easier to use, and almost as good. I really like the two dials which makes it easy to use manual mode. The peaking works (surprised me). The ISO and other buttons are well placed allowing for quick chan... Show More

Amazing Camera
So many things make this camera an incredible value! The camera body has a comfortable grib, is light weight, and really good battery life. Loaded with a ton of features, the video quality is what really makes this camera a must.

Returned because has no gps
Lovely camera -- but it doesn't have a gps. I will wait for the next generation Lumix and hope it has a gps. If it's not important to you to have a gps, definitely a great camera.

Innovative Video Camera that Still Holds Up Today
I have owned 2 GH4's for about 2 1/2 years now. Primarily, I am an event/wedding videographer that, at the time, was looking for an alternative to the elderly Canon DSLR video line up. Fast forward to today, and the 4K video and 96 fps slow motion in 1080p are still great features at the price point. I'm not a huge fan of MFT and have used a Metabones speed booster and Canon EF mount lenses since I started using the camera. I'm not sure I could h... Show More

Lumix DMC-GH4 -Great Cam!
I purchased the camera specifically for video! Used it for the first time to film the women's cycling land speed record on the 12th of Sept, 2016 at the Bonneville Speed Week in Utah(which was 147mph!--mind you that's on a bicycle). I'll say it was really hard to use the viewfinder on the bright salt flats of Bonneville--either had to be covered with a blackout cloth or preset and shoot at f8 or f11 to make sure everything was in focus--I used it... I have 3 GH4 cameras and love them, even in low light
I shoot weddings and some commercial work. I've been working with DSLR and BMD cameras for years, and I still shoot with my Production Camera all the time (It's 100% the best camera in it's price range for video work), but my M-F job calls for Product Photos and this lead me to the GH4, which I originally only got for Product Photos and then ended up buying two more for filming weddings with. Luckily I have not had any issues with the GH4, and al... Show More

WORKHORSE
22 Days in the Amazon Forest, 3 Days in the California Sun, 2 Snow storms in DC. This camera has earned its place in my heart. Add a speedbooster and it makes up for the ISO performance. I have never had it overheat, Never Shut down, never failed to record. I have used the YAGH to live stream via SDI to a Blackmagic Mixer for over 4 hours. This camera alone has made me reconsider my canon loyalty. I will definitely get the GH5.

Fabulous Camera & Videographic device
I am really impressed with this big little camera. I shoot stills and video equally often, but sometimes wait too infrequently between photographic bouts. I expected a steep learning curve and worried, thus, about how capable I would be using this camera when I must fulfill some need, quickly. But Lumix GH4 has an easy to understand menu, and there is much free information on the internet and youtube to help with easy operation. In fact, even wit... Show More

Killer Sweet!
This is such a slick camera! Love the lightweight durability of this came & all the small features that make it so valuable - all the custom function buttons, and even that little knob lock on top is sick! These small, but useful characteristics make me want to buy a second.

So excited about the camera!
I purchased for use with video. I tried buying at a different place for less money, but it wound up being way too much hassle. I canceled my purchase with the other company because I know B&H always delivers a fair price for the item they say they have, unlike other companies.

Great camera
I've had a Gh1 and Gh2 and they've always been my favorite cameras to use. Even though I've had other brands of cameras the Panasonics have always been my favorites. So far I'm very happy with the GH4 and have been very happy with the video. Even the photo function for the Gh4 rocks.

Be aware of...
What's with the PINK highlights? We have been using the camera for about seven months in a variety of settings (studio to landscape). Overall the performance of the camera has been very good. However, when in ISO 100 and taking a shot with strong highlights, they come into Adobe Bridge and/or Lightroom as a flat pink color. The images are basically garbage at this point. I've seen that several others note the same issue. I can't give it a 1 as it is a very nice camera. I can't recommend it to others with such a serious flaw (see attached image).

Unbelievable
The best camera I ever owned. Simple to adapt to and use. Everything at your fingertips where you expect it to be. I shoot mostly documentary film and stills. The quality is unbelievable. I love using the manual settings for custom exposures and the auto focus (when I need it) is awesomely accurate and fast.

Amazing camera in a compact body
Its basically a shrunken down DSLR. m43 sensor and EVF allows a lightweight camera body and very lightweight high quality lenses. Image quality and dynamic range (highlight/shadow recovery) are simply fantastic. The physical layout is very comfortable with dials and switches in very convenient places. The face recognition focus works wonderfully well. Battery life is also excellent. The other side of this camera is the video capabilities. IT IS A... Show More

Perfection
I love this camera. I've been watching Panasonic for years through the GH2 and 3. The GH4 is fun to use, and incredibly user friendly. Caleb has a great 4 hour tutorial that I highly recommend. A friend showed me his new Sony and I so prefer the image of the GH4 to it. Panasonic comes through.

Great 4K camera for the price
I'm used to Canon camera so this Panasonic offering takes a bit to get used to. The M4/3 sensor and lenses kind of throw me, but I'll figure it out. It's not as good in low light as I would like, but the controls and long battery life more than make up for it.
