Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens (Silver)

Great camera, HUGE DESIGN FLAW
The camera is basically perfect......except that when you record for over 5 minutes, it splits your clip up in segments on the memory card.....so you have to go back and make all the clips one if you are syncing audio from another source. Really disappointing. Really big flaw. Canons rcord up to 12 minutes but will do it in one clip, this one records up the 30min in 4k mode but splits the clips into 6 clips on the memory card.

Nice camera. Very versatile and great photos.
I've had this for a couple of months and am really enjoying not having to carry my Nikon DSLR anymore. For what I do it's almost perfect. It would be absolutely spot on if it had a motorized zoom, and GPS receiver. There is the ability to use an App to record and upload location information, but it's not easy to use and a few times the location information has not transferred and then wiped from my phone, losing it.

Everything I need in a camera
I purchased this with a Rode Videomic Go, and I am very happy with the results. It is quite a bit lighter that my previous camera, a Canon Rebel XT. I do wish it was water resistant, like the GH3 and GH4, but that is not a major problem. The body is plastic, but feels solid and well built. I probably would've gone with the GH3, before I saw that the G7 shoots 4K. Great camera overall, definitely would recommend.

Awesome video monster
I've been an editor and animator for 20+ and this is my first attempt at shooting video. I've been on countless sets and involved with production all around. This little baby is really nice. Easy to use, plenty of help and support. Got a used SLR Magic 25mm 0.95 lens which makes it even that much better. No complaints at all so far. Highly recommended for video work, haven't even shot a single still with it yet.

This camera is a great buy!
I purchased this camera in June of 2016 and since then is has performed flawlessly. It out-performs my Olympus EM-10 and Canon 60d, and is way lighter than the 60d. Pros: lightweight, mic port, flip out LCD, 4k recording, fast auto-focus Cons: my only gripe is with the 14-140mm lens, not the camera body. The lens performance in moderately low light conditions is less than stellar. Other than that, epic camera!

Very Pleased!
Truly a great camera. I shoot local TV commercials, and this is now my goto camera for just about all of them. Even the kit lens produces decent images and video. I have bought a few prime lenses to get even better quality out of the camera. The color quality is great, the image quality is very good. With the proper settings, you can get terrific low light images that are clean with no to very little grain.

Disappointed
I purchased this camera because it received good ratings. The intended use is for video. The video quality is great, even in low light. My biggest disappointment is that the lens is sticky and jerky when zooming. Also, the optical stabilization is limit so you have to be very still when shooting handheld. A motorized zoom that one can control using the remote app would have been better for my application.

Too Impressed
I'm a somewhat novice wedding filmmaker. From Ghana, West Africa. Passive Youtube student of Lord Kraig Adams basically.lol Switched to this from a 7D and that choice, i'll never regret. The intense crop factor almost put me off but the Rokinon12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens i got with this was honestly my dealbreaker. Get this if you're not very bothered about the competition. This thing is honestly a TOP underdog.

My initial impression of the Lumix DMC-G7
I am a CG Generalist who uses Blender. I needed a camera that could deliver crystal clear images for camera tracking and matte placements. I was thrilled with the HDR capture, time lapse, stop action and RAW capabilities of this camera. Not to mention the WiFi and panorama abilities. I wish I could have afforded a camera with a higher frame rate at 4k, but this little beauty is hard to beat for the price.

Excellent for the price
This camera might not have all the features the GH4 has but it does add a lot of features for the price. I took some excellent pictures yesterday with my Nocticron 42.5 mm lens and the quality and speed of this camera amazing. The only negative thing I have to say about this camera is that the door to the battery feels very cheap and loose and I am wondering if someday I might break it by just closing it.

Great little camera!
Great little camera! I was initially shocked by how light it was but after some practical use I realized that it is perfect for daily use. It never feels like a burden to carry around but the image quality that this little camera produces is amazing! I was also pleased to get it at a good deal and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to film high quality videos on a budget or just in general. 5/5!

Awesome camera for the price
I mostly use it for filmmaking and it looks great. Great camera to start learning with. The kit lens is nice, too. Minimal noise at ISO 1600. Ive even pushed it to 3200 and the picture quality was still great. Granted, I was filming on a smartphone before and couldnt push my phone past 400, so in comparison, its night and day. Battery life kinda sucks when recording 4k. Other than that, im very happy

Compliments the GH4 Almost Perfectly
The G7 is light, compact, and powerful. The 4K modes match the GH4 almost perfectly and provides for a great b-camera if the other, more powerful Panasonic mirrorless camera is your main camera. The only downside so far is no 1080 ALL-I 24p recording mode and no way to monitor audio through headphones, if you need it. Great price for a powerful camera. If you're just starting out, go for it.

The Lumix DMC-G7 is a great camera for starters
I use this product for video and love the 4k features. I went from a T3i body and pancake lens to the G7 and Canon FD prime lenses using the Roxsen focal reducer mount. For this cheap you can't beat the price. I eventually want to upgrade to the GH4, or GH5 if it's out by then. If I had a complaint it'd be the 2x crop factor. It stinks, but I knew what I was getting before I got it.

Great Bang for the Buck (no headphone output)
I've been trying these out for Video II students- I think this camera (paired with a prime lens) provides a great value. We are recording audio to a separate device and synching in post. However, it would occasionally be handy to plug a mic directly into the camera- which you can do and set a level (via a menu)- but there is no headphone jack to monitor live- kind of a shame.

nice little camera
my go to camera--when I go for my morning walk and when I hike in the mountains this is my go to camera Have given up on the heavy DSLRs love the lightweight M4/3rds EVF could have been a little larger but it does work fine for me--in fact I think I am starting to prefer the EVF over the OVF--out here in the sunny desert you do need a viewfinder whether it be a OVF or a EVF

Stunning 4K, Super affordable.
I tried Samsung NX500, very nice camera, sunning image quality but video features were missing, crippled 4K, H265 codec. I came across Panasonic G7, what a camera, 4K,Digital viewfinder, touchscreen, great ergonomics. It is a complete package in my view. I love this camera. Best bang for the buck. Only problem i see is the back top and front dials are too easy to change.

Fine Camera, lens cap falls off and camera pouch too small.
The camera is meeting my expectations of sharp focusing and shorter learning curve than similar cameras. Lens cap will fall off if not carefully snapped on. I've already had to buy a new one. Pouch camera bag provided in kit is too small for the camera and lens. B&H should provide bigger bag. Please consider providing a lens cap holder (e.g. Sensei) with Accessory Kit.

Best purchase in years!!
I have been a DLSR Nikon user for 8 years. Over time, I have felt the weight in that camera and lenses that it had become harder and harder to carry around. It also began to hurt my back and shoulder. This Lumix G7 is perfect for me. So light weight, including the lens, that I can carry it with me in my purse. Outcome of the photos is outstanding!! Nikon who??????

The upgrade I was looking for
I decided it was time to upgrade my camera, I was using a canon t3i and was no longer happy with the low light quality. I shoot video semi-professionally and for fun so I was looking for a camera that had 4k shooting options and a great low light sensor. This surpassed my expectations and with a new fast lens I can now shoot in low light without much noise.

Glad I have this as 2nd Camera
I purchased this as a back up or additional camera along with my GH4. So I've only had for a week but I am happy with this. Anybody wanting something similar to the GH4 it would a good close... A few less features but uses the same lenses that I use on GH4 so when videoing whit two cameras I am happy. Shoots 4K if you have the right card in it.

Two defective products
I returned the first G7 I received after finding a foreign object inside the kit lens, the body was fine. I received the replacement last night to find a foreign object in the viewfinder. The camera takes nice photos but there is clearly a problem with quality control. I am currently deciding whether or not to send back this model as well.

Great for the nature enthusiast!
Price is amazing for the product you get. I'm upgrading from a point-and-shoot canon power-shot and this is exactly what I needed and more to continue my passion for nature photography. I might even consider doing portraits! I'm very excited to try out the video, but for now the photos come out amazing! I even love the preset scenes.
