Great pocket camera to carry with you at all times
Great digital compact camera with a outstanding Leica zoom lense! What I love about this digital camera is that it is small enough to keep in your packet and have it with you at all times. The electronic features give the user more options than they can imagine with a compact camera. I am just getting into photographing birds and wanted a zoom lense that would provide great up close shots. This camera provides that need and much much more. I've u... Show More

Great Camera Overall but NOT FOR LOW LIGHT
This is a great camera that I bring everywhere because it gives me DSLR quality photos, 4k video and fits in my pocket. The only place I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDbringing it to is the beach: So, if you happen to bring this camera to the beach, tiny grains of sand will get stuck in the lens and cause it to malfunction. Luckily, I bought the warranty and got my money back, but if you did not buy the warranty, you're screwed. Also, low light photos look s... Show More

Fantastic
This camera was bought as an upgrade to my Sony HX-90v. It's a great upgrade as advancements in technology have made this camera extremely fast, even in raw mode. It's so fast that I don't even notice the writing difference to the memory card while shooting raw. Photos are crisp and the colors are accurate. Shooting in JPG yields a file that is about 1/3 the size of raw but very, very good nonetheless. Focus mode is quick and concise and battery ... Show More

Amazing tech
I've been limping along with a Canon SX160 because I like it uses AA batteries. The cameras went so much further with a bigger range of zoom and higher resolution I finally had to break down and get another. I trust B&H not to send me out refurbished or used as new and it was as expected all sealed up in new packaging. I haven't made a dent in learning everything this can do in just a couple weeks. I don't expect it to replace a full format c... Show More

Video is great. Photos not so much
I purchased the DC-ZS 40 several years ago. Loved the video but the picture quality was not the best. Lots of noise even at low ISO (200). It stopped working twice, a focus issue inside the camera. First time it was under warranty, second time, out of warranty so it was not worth it to fix. I decided on the DC-ZS70 hoping the photo part was better being a much newer camera. Wrong!!! Same issues. Should have sent it back but I didnt, now Im stuck ... Show More

Fabulous Compact Travel 30x Zoom with 4k
I bought this to replace its previous model which I damaged. While it's slightly more bulky and heavy than its predecessor, I think its 4K video and photo abilities make up for it. It still fits in my pocket. The Leica zoom lens is still fabulous especially for traveling. Macro is perfect. 4k MP4 video is a new treat that will future proof your videos. The 4k photo feature is a bit misleading; it actually takes a variable length video from which ... Show More

Excellent camera and so easy to buy from B&H Photo
The B&H Photo price and extras were better than the choices on a huge shopping website that has deals from vendors with questionable reputations. I trust B&H Photo with good reason: My camera was delivered overnight for free and came in perfect condition. The controls on the Lumix ZS70 are obvious and easy. I really like having the option to peer through the viewfinder or flip out the screen and hold the camera at waist level where it is less d... Show More

A point and shoot with all the extras
I was looking for a newer point and shoot; one with a viewfinder. Bright sunny days looking at the LCD screen is impossible with most smaller point and shoot cameras. My previous Sony camera took excellent pictures but I could not see the screen. This new Panasonic not only has a electronic viewfinder, but you can also shoot in manual mode just like my Nikon D5500. You have control over shutter speed, aperture and ISO. A terrific zoom lens and a ... Show More

Much better than expected
I already owned the ZS100 and ZS50, both purchased from B&H. Wonderful results from such small cameras. I read a preliminary report on the ZS70, and the photos were impressive. My initial thoughts that increasing the megapixels from 12 mp on the ZS50 to 20 would create a lot of noise on such a small sensor. Not so, at least with decent lighting. I am delighted by the results thus far. The ZS70 is the best shirt pocket camera I have ever encounter... Show More

Awesome and Easy
This camera is not only stylish, it has a comfortable heft and has a thorough compact ability for a point and shoot camera. The Menu and Set-Up was not difficult. I am an amateur photographer; I use this camera for family and Internet images, my neighbor, a professional photographer raved about this camera over all others and suggested I purchase this for its high-quality photograph results. Does well for what it is
Camera zoom is great and there are more features in this camera than anyone actually needs. So you should be able to get what you want from it. Takes time to get up to speed with it for sure. Handy dandy for carrying around - beats a bigger camera there. Focus speed is pretty good but not good enough for birds in flight. Main thing - it has a tiny sensor - part of the small package to get that big zoom. You can't pixel peek or crop very much at all (so you really don't need all those pixels). Probably would be better with fewer pixels, but the people have spoken and more is better.

Way to complicated & WiFi to PC Does NOT work
Way to complicated, way too many options, some like that, I do not (do not have the time to memorize a bunch of new menu stuff). The Main reason I purchased it was to link it to PC via WiFi, but I could never get the WiFi to connect to the network and get images from the Camera directly on my PC. I could get it to connect to my SmartPhone, but what real use is that (none by the way). One professional review stated this camera had the best WiFi interface of them all, rubbish. I going to have to resell at a loss on eBay. P.S. never to got the see if the images it took were any good.

Faantastic camera, for me as a intermeditate photo freak!
BH has so far never let me down. This camera was the next step up from a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS,. Didn't want the bigger DLS camera's... this one still fits in a small purse but, gives me the best of all worlds!! I'm still going thru options and experimenting, still have things to learn!! It has been easy so far, like my Canon. Pic's are great. Will take a trip soon, then will know more! I'd imagine a experienced Photographer might want and expect more... for me an intermediate photographer it's perfect!!! It's taking me to the next level, with lots of options to help me grow!!!

The best!
I had the same camera for 7 years and it stopped working. I really debated on spending the $$ since it was twice the price of the previous model. However, after using it a few times (I'm a point & shoot picture taker), I am so impressed. The most important thing to me was zoom and clarity without complicated settings. It takes amazing 30x zoom pictures of birds and wildlife. And, getting it from B&B was a bonus with the battery pack and the extended warranty which I didn't know about until after I purchased. Hope it lasts at least as long as the last one, Panasonic is great!

Nice Travel Camera!
I recently replaced my old ZS25 Lumix (stolen) with the DC-ZS70. In limited use thus far, the ZS70 has been easier to use and very high quality. I like the manual controls that give me a little more "old school" photography --- much like my old Nikon F 35mm. Telephot range is more useful than the old ZS25. While the telephoto range on the ZS25 was longer, the sharpness and quality dimished greatly at high magnifications. The built-in flash is a little annoying since it can easily get blocked by your hand. Overall--- very happy with the ZS70!

More complicated than I expected
I skimmed over the owners manual but the camera has a lot more going on than is clearly explained. Sometimes there are overlays in the display that obscure my subject during a photo attempt. The camera does appear to capture an image when the shutter button is pressed, and the delay in recording occurs after this. This is an improvement from my old digital cameral that was incapable of capturing an image at the time of the click. This is a very important feature so the camera is certainly an improvement. and 20mb is a big step up from 5 MB.

Very impressive
I was skeptical that a small sensor could handle 20 megs. It does so very well with adequate light. It is the best shirt pocket sized camera I know of with an enormous zoom range. I also have the ZS100 which is more effective in low light given its 1 inch sensor, and has a very useful 25-250 mm zoom range, but smaller than the 24-720 mm range of the ZS70. At age 80, I find the large zooms to be burdensome, but the small cameras like the ZS70 and 100 to be absolute joys for an enthusiastic amateur like. I definitely recommend both cameras.

Good Camera - While It Lasted
Had this camera for a couple years & pretty well satisfied with it. Recently started acting up when turning on with the lens getting stuck halfway extended & system error on the screen. Well out of warranty, a check of the web forums advised to give it a tap on the left side. It worked & behaved itself for a month or so then same problem. I took this camera hiking in some fairly remote places - that I will not be going back to - and cannot afford to have an unreliable piece of gear like this. I would not recommed it.

Nice, but a couple of issues
The camera is nice and takes outstanding pictures. In the automatic settings mode it is simple to use. However, the on/off button is not recessed sufficiently. As a result the camera should be carried in a case rather than a jacket pocket to prevent it from being accidentally turned on. The camera has WiFi capabilities. However, it will not connect to a WiFi network so that the picture files can be easily downloaded to a PC. There is an Android program (App) to download to and control the camera by a SmartPhone.

Overall disappointment
Coming from a Fuji X10, I was looking for a wider zoom. Well, that this camera has but results are lacking unless the conditions are ideal. Forget about shooting in low light, or anything approaching. It simply cannot handle it. I could not figure out manual overrides, made especially so by the absence of a manual. OK, its online but do I have to dial it up every time I have a question? I dont recommend this camera. For scenes around my daughters recent wedding, I returned to my old Fuji and was quite pleased.

Nice upgrade for me
I owned the Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS60. It was damaged by a fall and had to be replaced. This model is an upgrade from my previous model but as it is not the most recent model, it was sold at a discounted price that included an accessory kit. I am very pleased to have the included Travel Charger and extra battery so that I am not limited to only charging the battery in the camera. In addition, I appreciate theTilting Touchscreen, View Finder, and included option to extend the warranty to 3 years.

Lumix
Not impressed, too many setting options , uses way too much battery and requires multiple batteries no matter how I set it up. Slowed shutter for most applications require shutter preference for many images. That being said color balance is quite good, scene selections work for many possibilities with reasonable results. Sharp image. Difficult to tell where buttons are at night, would be good if they were easier to feel. Slow to auto focus. Adequate to have as a handy purse camera.

Nice upgrade from my old LUMIX
H I had a lumix camera for many years and was happy with the product. It dropped two years ago and I replaced the broken screen myself because it was very cost effective. It was never the same after replacing the screen so I elected to purchase a new camera with the newer features. So far so good although there are many more features that didn't exist in the old version and there is much more to try to understand and figure out which mode is better suited for the best results.

Great Little Walk Around Camera with 720mm (equivalent) zoom
It has a small sensor as found in many compacts plus a very long zoom. Might not be be a low light monster but grabs decent shots in daytime and lit rooms; a reasonable trade off for a super zoom in a pocket-size camera. When not using it as a coat pocket walk around camera, It sits in my bag's lens compartment next to a D750 for occasions when I need the equivalent of a 720mm lens. It has a load of features If you want to dig in, or just set it on IA and grab a quick shot.
