Good low cost lens for general use
I plan to upgrade to higher quality lens in this range soon, but for the money, it is a good lens.

Much Better then Expected
I received this lens with the purchase of the GX-8. I was quite surprised of the sharpness of this lens. It has an excellent range. I will use this lens for street photography and portraits. The main purpose for the GX-8 is to be nature photography, using the 100-400mm lens. This lens rounds out the camera's range. It's a keeper.

Great Travel Lens
Great for travel and outdoor use!!! Shot extensively with this on a GX8 for two weeks in New Zealand and I was very satisfied. Obviously, if it were f2.8 I'd like it even more, but for daylight traveling, this f3.5 is a must have if you're going on a trip.

great starter lens
This seemed like a good compromise between getting a zoom lens in the wide-field range, and cost (I just dumped over $1200 to get started in DSLM photography/videography). I like the crispness of my images, at a variety of f-stops and focal lengths. Although I expect that I may run into limitations eventually (I am already finding that I like shooting in manual mode as I learn more about my DMC-G85), I know I will grow with this lens for a long time!

Great Lens for the Price
I got this as part of the package with the Lumix DMC-G85 camera body and I'm quite happy with it so far. So far the glass quality has proven to be excellent for my purposes.

great all around lens
i bought it for my bike rides to be paired with my Olympus EM5II. It is weather sealed, light, small, and the range 12-60 is fantastic. image quality is good, as good as the 14-45 i had, i guess. it is not a first class lens, it is a second class lens, but thats what i needed to carry in my bag without worrying to get it wet or dusty and still get good images.

Great All-around Lens
Great for wide street photography and also for up close portraits. Used this as an all around travel lens and really liked the sharpness and the versatility of the lens. The auto focus could be a little faster and consistent with shooting in video, but that also could be the camera firmware. For the price, it's not a bad lens at all.

Great all around camera
I used this lens in combination with the GX-8 and was very satisfied with the picture quality and the Dual image stabilization. Worked great for taking videos too. The low light capability for the range of 12-60 was descent, but in good light the image quality was amazing. In low light, it still worked great. Especially since I did not carry a tripod.

Solution to a problem I didn't know I had.
This 12-60mm lens is fast, small, and clean. Since the vast majority of the use I got out of my old 14-140mm telephoto lens was mainly framing a shot the great depth of it was being wasted. And it was large, often getting in the way and vulnerable for carrying around in action. This new 12-60 is a terrific lens for general use.

Nice lens.
Shot some photos with this lens and was pleasantly surprised by how sharp the photos were. It is a nice compact sized lens which is great when you want something more versatile than a fixed focal length as it gives one the equivalent focal length of a 24-120mm range on a full frame camera.

Great general purpose zoom lens
I will preface this review by saying I already have Panasonic's two f/2.8 Pro lenses (12-35 and 35-100), as well as an assortment of other prime and ultra-wide and long zoom lenses. So why did I pursue their new 12-60? Primarily because of its versatility. It has both wide angle and long reach in one lens, and its weather sealed, all without the fumbling around needed to change lenses. There are plenty of situations where it's just not practical ... Surprisingly Good Lens
Truthfully, I was a little frustrated when I bought the camera GX8 and came this lens included, I just wanted the body and had in mind another lens, but by making several photos I was amazed at how fast it is in focus and the great zoom has, I personally worked well for me day and night with good results, judge prematurely and if doubt is a good lens to come in a kit.

so far so good
I was leery about buying this lens because of some bad reviews but I am glad I did buy it--nice shots with it and for me it is the perfect zoom for what I use it for-- I use it on my Panasonic GX85 and for me it is the perfect combo

Surprisingly Decent
After reading quite a number of negative reviews, I decided to take the plunge after B&H sent me some Panasonic lens promotions (thank you B&H!). I figured that the initial tests were probably pre-productions samples and that Panasonic would have probably fixed it by now. The MTF Chart looks pretty good (though not the only consideration) so could it be really that bad? I was debating between this and the 12-35 f2.8 as both are weather-sealed to ... Show More

A Fine Lens
Up to now the core default lens on my Panasonic GX7 was the G Vario 1:3.5-5.6/14-42. I like it for being sharp, small and light. I was pleased to see Panasonic come out with an alternative of much increased 1:5 zoom range, the G Vario 1:3.5-5.6/12-60. While 20mm longer physically, it almost replaces three lenses. So there is less need for a gadget bag or change of lenses in mid action. The performance is easily on the level of the respectable 14-... Show More

Nearly Perfect
This is my favorite walk-around lens zoom range. Wide enough and almost long enough for my needs. I like the 14-150 Olympus f/3.5-5.6 II, but it's just not wide enough. I know I can't have everything. The image quality of this lens has impressed me with sharp edge to edge at all focal lengths, with a minimum of chromatic aberration that Lightroom/Adobe Camera RAW and DxO Optics Pro 11 could easily correct. Barrel and pincushion distortion was als... Show More

Great lens
I have heard people complain about the price of this lens compared to other standard zooms that have been around for years. Their complaints are well grounded if some of the features this lens has don't appeal to you. For me, weather sealing is essential as is image stabilisation. This lens was the only one that had these two features in this price range that I could find. Would have been nice if it was a fixed f/2.8, but the price would have sky... Show More

Great light weight zoom
After I preordered this lens I saw reviews at ephotozine and photographyblog that indicated less than ideal performance. When I received the lens, I set up a lens test chart to compare the Lumix G Vario 12-60mm to my Sigma 60 mm and Lumix 42.5 mm. I expected to see poor results and to return the lens. To my surprise the Lumix G 12-60mm performance was excellent, very close to the prime lenses. I don't know if I have an exceptional copy or the published tests were done with pre-production samples, but I'm very pleased with this lens. Sample photos are included below.
