Great all around travel lens.
Wonderful lens. Sharp and contrasty. Well built, solid. My only gripe is that it is a bit large and heavy for my Olympus Pen F and is not well balanced on this camera. I have a (JB wood) grip on order and hope that will help. I suspect it is nicely paired with the omd em1 MKII.

Absolutely stunning!
This is an absolutely stunning super wide angle zoom! Honestly the only thing I REALLY care about is the lack of coma and other aberrations across the field, especially the edges, at 7mm. I use super wide lenses for photographing auroras and the corners are super important. The 7-14 is a stellar performer, so to speak, in this regard. More mundane aspects: Build quality is superb, the lens is reasonably compact and not particularly heavy, and the... Show More

Love this lens
Really love this lens. Very sharp and I love the f2.8 aperture for taking indoor shots (where it excels). I have the Panasonic (Lumix) f4.0 7-14mm lens also but am planning on selling it (the Lumix) because of the larger aperture on the Oly. Only downside of the Oly, as you can probably guess, are size and weight. It is a big lens so being unobtrusive while using it is something of a problem.

I would buy this product again and again.
This is one heck of a lens. I had the 7-14 f4 lens and did not know how this lens would stack up. Wow, not only is it cheaper but the f stop opens to f 2.8. It's more than I expected. And it's lighter too. Al

An Excellent Lens - You Get What you pay for!
This lens is another in the stellar line up of Olympus Pro Series lenses. Build Quality is excellent. Focus and zoom are very smooth. Gotta love the focus clutch on these lenses. The image quality is exactly as I expected, excellent. This is obviously a very wide lens. You do have to be careful to keep things level if you want to minimize / eliminate edge distortion and/or keystoning, but that is true of every super wide, not just the Olympus 7-1... Show More

7 -14mm is a keeper!
Used it once so far for shooting Christmas lights - worked great! The image quality is excellent, the build quality of the lens is outstanding. Really worked well for getting and entire house with the lights.

Best Ultra Wide for MFT
This lens is as sharp as it gets for ultra-wides. And also the fastest. Those are the knowns. I've used this lens for wedding videos and it really makes great images, especially useful in tight rooms or for a nice wide shot of the ceremony, or for overhead dancing shots. I've used a couple other M. Zuiko Pro lenses, and they all work flawlessly.

Almost perfect
'Excellent'. f2.8 is very useable and by f4 it's pretty much as good as it gets at this wide of a zoom. My one negative is the flare when including the sun in the frame that is hard to avoid with such a big front element. All other aspects of the lens are first class.

Excellent sharp wide angle lens
I use this lens for wide angle landscapes, star images and even closeup work on flowers for example. Lens builde is solid. Focus is fast. Sharpness is right up there with my best lens I have had including Zeiss primes. No reservations. Highly recommended!

Excellent image quality. A fast and compact Ultra Wide.
It's less than half the weight and size of my old 4:3 7x14 and it's a stop faster! It's razor sharp edge to edge at every focal length I've observed. I do not find this an easy lens to use as it really does take a certain kind of vision to get the best from it. I'm learning. Great fun to use and the build and quality are IMHO true PRO level.

Professional quality all the way!
OMG! What an awesome lens! This thing is massive, weighty, and extremely well built. Operation is silky smooth. Images are tack-sharp across the frame. Handling is excellent. I'm using it primarily on a Panasonic Lumix GX8 body. It was a toss-up between this lens and the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4. The difference in price was only $300 so it seemed a no-brainer to opt for the faster aperture. And the push-pull manual focus ring is just ic... Show More

Excellent Lens
Nice sharp lens albeit pricey. One of the things I like about it is the ability to focus so close. The lens is not a macro but will focus to about 8 inches which is helpful for focus stacking if you're so inclined.

Nice!
Solid build. Does not appear to distort as much as other similar 7-14's, and the f2.8 throughout the zoom range is a welcomed upgrade. Very sharp.

My First Olympus Wide Angle...
I learned I need to make sure that the lens is absolutely level with the horizon to avoid fish eye like distortion. So far, I have made only test shots to get the feel of the lens. I believe it suits my needs very well. Not too heavy, easy to handle. Images sharp as a tack!

Great Lens
A little heavy, but great if you need the 7 - 14 focal length. Hardly needed the 12 - 40 pro lens on a recent trip. Good sale on currently.

really don't know
Haven't used it much-- it produces a lot of flare if you are not careful

A second opinion
My second review after I've had time to work with this lens has made it the number one lens in my kit. A 20 mm gives me an ultra light compact that keeps the camera always around my neck and a 40-200 mm as backup but I can shoot all day with this zoom and just love the close up into distance effects. Starting to think wide is a great concept and as a young photo student I was forced to do just one lens for a full semester, back when zooms were ra... Show More

I Love This Lens!
Little did I know I would be using the M. Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO lens by Olympus almost the entire time of my first shoot with it and the 14-40 f/2.8 and 40-150 Olympus Pro lenses! Thought I would definitely be using the other two lenses more, but the 7-14 was just perfect and the pictures are truly awesome! Highly recommend it for the perfect ultra wide and also a plus that it is rain/dust proof like my OMD DM-1 and other lenses.

Primo Lens!
Outstanding ultra wide focal range lens. Excellent optics in terms of clarity and sharpness. Shooting in the sun will yield some lens flare which may be desirable for effect on some compositions, but not others. Very fast on focusing and produces exceptional close-up results with nice bokeh. My only gripe is that it doesn't offer an option for attaching filters such as ND for long-exposure shooting. Granted, it's a super wide angle lens, so the s... Show More

Fantasic
This lens gives me an extra-wide field on my GH4 without distortion. I produce for a family lifestyle website, and we've used this overhead for food and craft how-to videos, as well as for interview and on-camera talent set ups. Renders excellent, sharp footage in all situations. The constant 2.8 aperture is nice for low-light situations as well. I love this lens. The front element precludes screw-on ND filters, though, so you'll need a matte-box for outdoor shoots with this one.

Amazing piece of glass for your MFT Camera
This is one bad to the bone wide angle lens. I had major reservations about buying such an expensive piece of equipment but this bad boy really delivered some amazing shots. I always hesitated thinking I have a GoPro to go wide when I want to... but this gives you depth of field and wide open aperature to allow for some really cool landscape photos. I'm glad I gulped and spent the money, this lens is made really well and will last a long time.
