This product is really great for my everyday use. I'm a recording/mixing engineer I use pro tools 12.5 and this is great for my workflow. Whats great about this is that you can set the 4 buttons on this trackball to function how you want it to function. Not in just 1 application. Good hardware, software a bit weak
The unit itself is very nice, the ball action is a bit slippery - it can tend to overshoot but maybe Ill get used to it. Software-wise, for those of us who have disabled Windows updates during the course of an Avid editing project (a wise move Im told) I have problems with the drivers. Great for reducing repetitive stress

Good but not great
I want to like this thing. As others stated its greatest shortcoming is the scroll ring, it sucks really bad. It's almost like it was designed to suck, with regularly spaced detents that make it an unsmooth scrolling experience. The actual trackball is great. Great tool
Just bought my 4th one. No problems with any. All but one still operational, two after many years of use. Still, a lot better than a mouse
I'm a little ambivalent - I've owned this very thing before. Not worth the upgrade w/o drivers for Windows10
As a happy user of the Kensington Expert Mouse, I was excited to see this new wireless model available. Much to my disappointment, the supplied trackballworks software does not recognize the trackball for setup on Windows 10. This problem is present both over bluetooth (currently using microsoft universal HID-device driver), as well as the provided 2.4GHz USB dongle. Love the Kensington Expert Mouse
I've used the Kensington Expert Mouse for years now and won't do without it. I recently bought a new iMac with the new Magic Mouse. I did like the scrolling ability of the Magic Mouse but after a week I broke down and bought another Kensington Expert Mouse. It has much more accuracy and stability than the Magic Mouse. I've been a fan of Kensington trackballs since the mid-90s with the Turbo Mouse. Eventually they die and I buy another. This Expert Mouse adds the scroll ring which is useful. I use a MacBook Pro and process tons of pictures in Lightroom/Photoshop. Limited Mac Compatibility
I purchased this trackball along with a new Apple laptop. I also downloaded the Kensington trackball software for the Macintosh only to find that it does not recognize the trackball. According to Kensington support they have no plans on supporting this trackball for Mac users. With out sftware only 2 of the four buttons do work as does the scroll ring. I bought this trackball out of necessity because my older Kensington died. That was a Kensington Expert Pro Mouse with six additional DirectLaunch buttons. Durable and don't want to miss it
About 18 years ago I went into a @ and saw them use the first version of the Kensington trackball. It was extremely dirty and showed its continuous use and age. But it worked extremely well. Back then I was so impressed that I bought one. I love the extra buttons
No more pain using the Kensington Expert trackball. Before using this I had RSI when using a regular mouse and then horrible pain in the base of my thumb when using an ordinary thumb trackball. Now I mostly use the palm of my hand or multiple fingers to move the cursor. I bought this mouse because Microsoft discontinued the trackball explorer with program specific buttons. I've never used a trackball so I bought this because I needed more precise wheel movement on a professional video editing software. This is nice. I would have given it a 5 stars but the wheel has a slight rough turn and feels like sticking so I bumped it down to a 4. Kensington 4-Button USB Expert Pro Mouse - Best there is!
I've been a trackball user for over 15 years. Most of my day is spent doing graphic design, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. After learning to use a trackball I would never go back to a regular mouse. The efficiency this device provides is unparalleled, programmable buttons make repetitive actions/tasks easy. I actually bought this as a backup as my original Expert Mouse which is going on 7+ years, but still works perfect. Although now with lots of use some of the finish has worn off the buttons, etc. Kensington builds great products, hope they never stop making this mouse. Happy trackball user!

Excellent
I am an Architect that uses AutoCAD for design. Utilizing a trackball for design is nearly required with the control it allows within the software. I have been searching for a couple years for one that actually gives such precision control and still feels comfortable in your hand. After testing at least 10 other trackballs this one has fit the bill perfectly. Completely customizable. Completely comfortable. Offering complete precision control. As far as B&H goes, I ordered it on a Tuesday and it was at my door on Wednesday when I got home from work. What more can you ask for? Great job B&H!

Still the best trackball
While this model is operationally identical to my 20 year old 4 button, it has a more modern look. It also comes with a wrist rest and it has a scroll dial which can be useful but it isn't as smooth as I would expect. There is a small learning curve and a lot of getting used to, but well worth the effort. Be careful of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome - just find the most comfortable wrist position and stick with it. If you start feeling uncomfortable change your position. Often the slightest change makes a world of difference. Once you use a large format trackball, you'll never go back to a mouse.
