A necessity for my laptop
This is a drive I probably wont use a great deal except to load software, Im not much of a movie buff. It is a basic manual drive that hogs 2 USB ports which is a bit bothersome. It is very slim and doesnt take up much room in my case. M-disc support is a nice touch and it did come with 2 M-discs.

Excellent external writer/player
Just used the ASUS on a long train trip; played two movies. When I returned, burned a DVD. Works great. I had another brand that broke the third time I used it; good to have bought the ASUS.

Lightweight. Works well.
I needed this because my notebook has no built-in optical drive. The ZenDrive U7M is working perfectly for me. It is very lightweight and just as small as it can be.

Useful adjunct device for an ultrabook.
It allows me to have a DVD reader or writer when I need it but leave the computer light and portable. On a trip it can handle being in checked bags while my ultrabook leaves my camera bag a couple of pounds lighter than the average laptop.

Perfect match for my Asus Zen Pro Laptop
Needed to get some old programs (on disc) loaded and my new zen laptop has no disc drive. This did the job. Looks good, thin and most important it works well. Also got a 10.00 rebate.

Amazing such a small light weight tool is so powerful!

Perfect for my application.
I bought this DVD Drive to go along with an ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501VW DS71T laptop which doesn't include an internal DVD drive. This DVD drive is barely the size of a DVD disk.
