Love it so far
Just bought this to use in our office in our small business conference room. So easy to set up and so quiet. I considered getting one of those tiny windows computers but opted to spend a few hundred more on this. The ease at which Macs connect to displays and get the font size right is reason enough. It starts up incredibly fast and is very quiet. Considering I bought the cheapest mac mini I'm surprised at how fast it seems....seems fast than my $4,000 windows desktop PC.

Good workstation choice
Great workhorses for general workstation work for graphic design, development, and light-weight rendering. This unit was purchased because we needed 16GB of memory for use on a workstation running VMware fusion. Since most of our storage is network based (NSF and iSCSI), the limited 128 GB SSD was not too crippling. Would not work for one of our workstations that require bigger disks that synch iPhones with 128 GB or more memory. They require at least 1TB to store the photos, movies, and iTunes phone backups.

Historically Reliable
These Mac Mini units are good if you pay extra to double the base ram, and you use an external SSD to use for additional applications and storage as the base SSD is too limited. If you are running local backups and have 128 GB of photos and a couple iTunes phone backups, you'll need to greatly increase the disk space, as well. Except for one Mac Mini, all of our Mac Mini's we've purchased last until they are just too slow for the current software and we retire/rotate them out of our production workstations.

great machine for desktop computing (light duty)
I've had Mac Minis since they first came out in 2006. This machine is fast and stable and does everything it is asked to do. the only complaint i have is that I loose bluetooth connection to my apple magic mouse II sporadically. Never had this problem with my macbook pro.

Powerful little boy!
Can't be more satisfied with purchase. (I7, 32GB, 1TB). Keeping few virtual machines on and all other regular stuff. Except a bit excessive temperatures that I've been seeing (fan speed can be regulated through 3rd party software) everything else is just amazing. Yes you can build PC for less money, yes you can get other mini options on the marker for less money but this thing is just all in one and it works (and you can't hear it :) ).

Great Mac!
I bought the 3.2Ghz 6 core i7, 8GB, 256GB SSD. My only regret is that I didnt spend just a bit more and get the 512GB SSD. Otherwise, this is a great replacement for my 2011 iMac. State of the art
This Mac mini is a beast. It suits my needs and more. A major upgrade from my 2008 iMac that didnt take the last two up os upgrades . It is very fast due to the SSD hard drive . Connect to 4K monitor and wow.

Nice basic package, but 128 GB SSD is too small
This is a nice basic Mac Mini computer with lots of thunderbolt 3 ports, but a 128 GB SSD drive is too small to be practical for this computer. I added a 500 GB thunderbolt 3 raid 1 SSD system to and store all my data on that drive. About the only thing stored on the Mac are the application programs and OS.

The 2018 Mac Mini I purchased is working great. I chose the 3.2Ghz i7 6 core, 8GB 256GB Gigibit Ethernet model. I replaced the 8GB of RAM with 32GB. The system is very fast, in some cases so fast you dont realize the function has been done. I've been happy with the performance of this i7 Mac Mini in terms of editing photos. I already had an external GPU, so the lack of a dedicated gpu in the Mac Mini wasn't an issue for me.

Pro for cheap
This is by far the cheapest way to get an i7 six-core in an official Mac. I probably didn't need the 512SSD, but I wanted to make sure I had plenty of onboard storage. 32GB of Crucial RAM $150. Razer Core X and Radeon RX580 $500. Speed Designs cooler $160. Blazing fast Mac, priceless.

The 2018 Mac mini is not as robust all around in some ways as an iMac or Pro machine is... There are issues with the two USB ports along with Bluetooth / Wi-fi connectivity that need to be addressed accommodated for, but once you research these problems the solutions make them much more reliable to handle for studio use, for instance using ethernet instead of wifi and getting a shielded usb cable to plug in an external bluetooth stick. USB devices cause loss of internet
This is a pretty nice computer and BH did a wonderful job installing the extra ram. However if you connect usb devices to the USB ports it causes loss of Bluetooth connectivity and internet connection. I totally lost internet until I disconnected the USB devices. (Even Apple tech support couldnt find a fix.) USB hub and a USB hard drive. This is really sad that you cant use the USB ports and internet at the same time. This is a wide spread issue. Just look into it online. My guess is the WIFi antenna is too close to the USB ports. Apple doesnt think anyone use this ancient technology anymore.

Worth it/Good Value
Most Apple products are overpriced these days, so if you want to buy a new Apple computer you're going to pay more than it's worth...except with the Mac Mini series. No, it doesn't come with a screen, but it is loaded with everything else. I got a 32gb of ram/1TB ssd drive/3.2ghz model, and if I wanted a macbook pro with the same specs I would've spent nearly double. Thus, to me, it's definitely your best bet if you want a new apple computer.

Loving it!
So far so good. I upgraded the memory to 32G. It was a little tricky but it worked. You need special tools Using an external 1TB SSD to augment the storage. Using two 4K 27 monitors. It's fast!

Fast, small, best bang for the buck in CPU horsepower
I bought this specifically to process a lot of high resolution files - in terms of bang/buck these are great. The only weakness is GPU, but you can get an eGPU after the fact if you need to. Very happy with it.

Best bargain in computers
The Mac mini is a replacement for our old 2011 Mac mini. We use it as a standalone server for a variety of jobs: DNS, DHCP, file server and a backup server. We have two OWC Thunderbays connected with 16TB each that we use for backup using Carbon Copy Cloner and for file sharing for all of our Macs and Linux machines. We could not be happier with this configuration. The previous mini worked continuously and flawlessly for over seven years. We expect no less from this one.
