Mostly great.
This lens is sharp at virtually all apertures. It is light and feels well made. My only complaints is that lens flare is rather bad (in my hands anyway) and that it cannot take screw-on filters. I may invest in a Nisi 150mm filter holder, but it is not available at B&H to date and I'm not entirely comfortable buying from other vendors. I may have been happier with the 16-35 F2.8 GM, but this lens complements my 24-70 2.8 GM quite well.

Used excessively already and I love it
I ordered this lens before a shoot where I expected to shoot about 5,000 images over four days. I used to shoot Nikon and had the 14-4 but doubt I took more than 20 shots with it. I debated how much of this I would use but I knew I needed wider than 24mm. All I can say is....wow. No. WOW. I used this lens a heck of a lot! The 12mm is extremely attractive. I debated the 10mm 5.6 lens but it was manual focus and very slow. I found a guy who had bot... Show More

Just about perfect for my needs
I shoot architectural photography. I need wide angle. My previous cameras were Canon and Nikon but switched to Sony about 2 years ago. Now that I'm almost 80, I needed something light weight and the A7RII fit the bill. My first lens was the 16-35 F4. It was an acceptable zoom but the sharpness at times was just a little off and bothered me. I sold the lens and went with the wonderful Zeiss Batis 18mm F2.8. FABULOUS...but I needed more flexibility... Show More

Sharp but not flare resistant
For its size, weight and sharpness, it is an amazing value. However it doesn't handle flare all that well. But if you want a compact, ultra-wide zoom in an E Mount, this is the one. It is very sharp corner to corner. Distortion is well corrected in Adobe lens profiles for Lightroom. This lens requires the more expensive 150mm filters.

Great Wide Angle Lens
Sony's widest full frame FE lens at 12-24mm. Lens is well made. Images are very sharp.

Great Wide Angle Lens
I went on a trip recently and discovered when I got home how much I needed a good wide angle option for my Sony A7R II. This lens was announced and I had to pre-order it because I didn't want to miss another great photo due to not having a wide angle option. I couldn't be happier with the results. The lens is a quality build with great results in the photos.

Great Lens
This is a great lens. The images are sharp. I have been hoping for a wide angle E-mount full frame lens for quite a long time, and this is the one! There's almost no vignetting. The only problem right now is distortion, but this is a new lens, and I'm sure it will be fixed with a firmware update.

Excellent lens
This replaced my Zeiss 16-35mm. I use it primarily for video. Sharp as hell. I love it.

The performance is fantastic edge to edge!
I did a comparison review vs the Canon 11-24mm and Tamron 15-30 and was blown away at how impressive this small lens is with edge to edge sharpness that was superior to either of the other lenses tested. The size and weight alongside this level of performance makes it a fantastic package! Sure you need to get an adapter for filters but that goes for many super wide lenses so no big deal. Sony could have called this a GM lens easily based on its performance! Here is a comparison review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5CjlAEYL7U

WOW!!!! SUPERB!!! Light!!!
I put it on my A7RM2 and is AWESOME handheld or on tripod. No softness at sides or vignetting even in dim to dark light like a sunset or city night shot. I have been using the SEL1018 in full frame mode for two years (great lens but some corrections in post are needed) and this lens is a great buy and native and lighter than any other. It allows for a two lens bag SEL1224G and SEL24240 to keep it light and small. I did a full moon shot (HDR type) @ 24mm over a beach and stars across the frame were also sharp.
