What a GREAT camera
This camera is so easy to use and is packed with so many tools! I purchased this to replace my aging Sony Cyber-shot. That one had a 12x zoom. This one has a 50x optical zoom. What a difference. The controls are easy to access and the pictures are outstanding! It is slightly larger, but so much better! It has built in Wifi so you can transfer images without a wire if you wish. The LCD screen is bright and you can pull it out from the camera so it... Show More

very good camera
Bought this to have in the car in case I saw something notable. I run across widelife frequently and didn't want to drag the slr and all the gear. Camera takes very good pics, not as good as the slr but very suitable for the purpose. Pros: inexpensive, has viewfinder to help framing picture especially in very bright sunlight and helps hold steady during long zooms, has good zoom range, acepts filters. Cons: slow picture processing-have to wait between shots, electronic viewfinder not good for manual focusing. Overall I'm satisfied considering the value.

This is a good upgrade for my old Sony camera.
I use this product to take photos and videos for posting in Facebook. I like its high zooming capabilities.

Hx400v is a middle class cam
Not the best photography but good for everything specially wildlife as it has a very long zoom.

Exceptional camera
I bought this camera after much research between different brands due in large part to the functions it offers over the others. I shoot mostly wildlife/nature and this camera has not disappointed. The only con so far is this camera offers so many features, it has been quite a learning curve. However, the ease of use, the superior quality of the camera and the photos that come from it override that.

Sony needs to fix E62:10 problem
I bought this camera twice. First time I went to East Africa, on the way back it started to show E62:10. Then I got busy forgot about it. When I had time to look at it, it was already out of warranty. Second time I thought maybe I had bad luck the first time. With all the extra batteries, charges, I ordered another one for my trip to UK. It arrived a day before my departure. Out of the box, when I turned on for the first time, it showed E62:10. L... Nice Camera
I have only had the camera for a short time but so far l like it. I have had other Cyber-Shot Cameras in the past and loved them. This one has a bit of a learning curve that I am working on now. The only thing I cant figure out is how to get the photos onto my computer. I am sure I will get it all figured out.

I returned back and exchange the A6000.
Something wrong on the lens. I feel shameful of taking 2 events pictures. Turn out not clear/blurred.

Its quality and value far exceeds its cost!
I have used the camera for both macro and distance shots. It is easy to use, light in weight and has a great vibration reduction system. See attached photo.

Picture Quality not what I expected
I went out and shot a few pictures and loaded them into my computer. When I blew them up to a 1:1 there was a lot of noise in the colors. Also, to move the flexible focus point, one has to go into the menu. Not convenient at all.

Exactly what it says it is
Read a lot of reviews while looking for a point and shoot with great zoom and settled on this one. They call it a bridge camera but it's really a fancy point and shoot, and that's fine. I'm not a photography enthusiast, I'm a guy who likes to take good photos while traveling. I've figured out most of the settings, and the camera is user friendly. Connects to the phone easily but having trouble connecting it wirelessly to my laptop.

Sony D.SC.-HX400V Cyber-shot Camera
This is my second Sony as had the 300 before and there are both great due to the size and weight so I don't have to pack my large Canon. The clarity is excellent and the 50x zoom worlks great. I do not have any complaints so far!

Excellent Choice
Easy to use with great results. Like its flexibility. There are times when I want simplicity and other times when I want to make all the decisions myself; it's easy to have it both ways with this camera without sacrificing quality.

Completely Useless
I do not understand how this camera got 1 good review. You can take about 10 pictures before battery dies. Trying to take pictures in low light is completely useless. Worst of all the camera cant focus. I bought it to take picture of my sons graduation. I missed shot of him slowly walking down isle because camera would not focus. All controls are very sluggish. Next I tried to take pictures of my daughters gymnastics championships. The sports mod... Show More

A Great Camera
I had an expensive 35mm camera with a number of lenses for years. Moving into the digital world, I wanted a simpler system that produced better quality pictures. The wide array of choices and continual innovation was making a purchase decision difficult. Bridge cameras seemed to be an obvious choice and, with the assistance of the B&H professionals, I decided on the Sony DSC-HX400 several months ago. The camera has a 24 - 1200mm zoom lens (one wi... Great Camera / Great Price / Great Customer Servive
I bought this camera to take product shots for my business. The shots I took are very good. I'm glad the B&H rep sold me on this camera. The zoom is a fantastic added bonus.

Great wide angle picture from my dsx400V
I took these pictures rescently. One is probably the best I have ever taken. The pictures show the ability of the 24 megapixel sensor and the Carl Zeiss lens. Alley shot on tripod at f6 and 80 iso. Look closely at detail in shadowy walls near camera. This camera can resolve great pictures even though it has a large zoom range lens!

My experience with this camera
I bought this camera 16 months ago and up until 3/25 I was thrilled with it. On 3/25 it suddenly started an odd lens shift and wobbling every time I depressed the shutter button, eventually bringing up the dreaded E62:10 error flashing on the screen. Come to find out that I am not even close to the only person this has happened to shortly after the warranty has run out. I'm taking it in tomorrow to be looked at, but from what I have researched Sony will want $200 to fix it. Won't buy again.

I'm glad I bought this camera!
I photograph deer, birds, and squirrels from my deck. It makes it easy to get sharp closeup's that are in sharp focus. Also I like the fact that you can print the date on the photo so you can remember when it was taken!

Love it
Bought this camera mainly to use the 1200 zoom, so I took it to swamp to test it out...I was amazed but the results. Decided to have a 20x30 print made just to see, up close it looks soft but from a foot away it' looks good...will be hanging print in my home.

Great first Real camera for my teenager
This is a very easy camera to learn to use. It takes great pictures though the macro pictures are not as good as we had hoped. It is lightweight and the deal came with a bag and an SD card which was terrific. Would highly recommend for an entry level camera.

I love this camera!
I've use Sony point-and-shoot cameras for years. The CMOS sensor chip Sony uses in these cameras is fantastic - excellent low-light capabilities. Also, the user interface is very easy to understand and use. My new HX400V continues this trend plus adds a well-designed, ergonomic design. Bravo Sony!
