A camera for everyday use
I have a couple of Canon 5D IVs and lenses for work. I purchased the Sony a7 III and some prime lenses for my personal work and play. I've used the Sony at work for the last couple of weeks, shooting more than 3000 frames, so I can get comfortable with the system. On the assignments when I used both systems, I can't readily tell which camera shot which frame. The color and sharpness are virtually identical. I would feel very confident shooting wi... Show More

Love it so far
Amazing camera. I bought the Sigma Art 85mm f1.4 and the Sigma MC-11 for my Canon L Series Lenes and I couldn't be happier.

Camera
Everything is good so far. I dislike the fact that there's no separate charger for the battery. I'm glad i switched over from Nikon to Sony. Big difference.

flickering screen
I upgraded from a Nikon D700 as my main camera, plus a Sony alpha 6000 as my "pocket" camera, to the D700 plus a Sony a7m3, so I am not new to the Sony menu. I had ordered it with the Sony 24-105 mm, but since that never came in I bought a Sony f 2.8/90 mm, and a Sony/Zeiss f 1.8/55 mm. The camera is probably too much for me. There are endless options which can be customized into astronomical possibilities. I settled on simple stuff, ISO, exposur... Show More

Absolutely Amazing !
I'm using Sony A7 M3 + Canon 24-70/2.8 L II with Metabones MK-V last week. it's perfect association, but surely update firmware after purchase for Metabones MK-V. Absolutely amazing body !

Great!
One of the best mirrorles. AF is surreal, excellent body construction and low light performance on the same level of the A7SII.

Well done Sony
The specs and price point of this camera are amazing. Entry level price but not an entry level camera. Sony hit a home run with this. Ergonomically sound and performs as expected of a Sony camera these days. Top marks all around.

Worth the price of admission
Stepped up from the A6500. Rugged feel, awesome low light, full frame at a reasonable cost. So glad I made the jump.

Worth the wait!
Took almost 2 weeks for shipment. This camera has some amazing low light capabilites. I am overall very impressed. Will be hard for Nikon to beat this with its upcoming mirrorless.

Canera was used
Very disappointed. Waited a long time for the camera. Paid more than two thousand dollars and received a used product.

owned a a6300, a7sii, and now this
I own a fs7 and am often in need of a good B cam. Prior to that I had a 5dmkiii. When I got rid of my 5d I kind of regretted it, because it took such great photos compared to the a7sii and a6300. Well, now all of that has changed. I finally found a camera that can both shoot great photos and video!

Sophisticated
Full-featured camera that suits my needs well. Extremely sharp images, especially in low light. Moved from an older Canon DLSR with a 24-105 mm lens. Takes some experimentation to figure out the difference in color space and compensation parameters. Many more parameters and levels of control. Look carefully for instructional YouTube videos, a big help. Much customization flexibility, another big plus.

Finally Sony!!
after using an a7i and a7rii, everything is drastically improved. Write speed and image processing is up to canikon standards. exterior material is also greatly improved (no more paint chips). Battery life is also greatly improved and although its a little bigger than I would like, I can now travel without extra batteries. Attached is the first image I captured with it.

Qaulity
I love the build qaulity and features of this camera. To me, this is the best pound for pound fighter in the camera market.

Amazing camera
Like everything about this piece. Came from an A7ii that I had for a couple years and this is an impressive upgrade. A mild unhappiness however it seems to have a rather large collection of dust on the sensor right out of the box. Adds an additional 10 mins to post time to get rid of them. I'm not a pro so there is no hurry for me, only frustration. Never had such a problem with the A7ii. I realize it's not a camera issue, just a dust issue.

Excellent Camera with one gripe
This is an excellent camera in many ways. My only gripe is where video recording button is placed. I am using metabone with Canon and Sigma lenses so far with absolute no issues. I do want to try with Sony lenses at some point. The price is right. The IQ is the better than Fujifilm XH1 and Olympus EM1 Mark 11. I have not shot much video as yet so I cannot comment on it. The autofocus is amazing and probably its best feature. If Fujifilm xt3 canno... Show More

Made the switch from DSLR and couldn't be happier
Been shooting Nikon for years and made the jump mirrorless. Do not regret the decision at all. The technology in this camera is amazing.

Still Playing with the Camera
I just upgraded from my previous Sony and I can say there is a lot of good things about this camera. The photo quality is outstanding and the video is excellent.. You really have to get use to a lot of the features being I shoot inside a studio you have to make sure your whites and colors are projected correctly.. So I am still learning a couple of my own tricks.. I did a couple of shows outside and everything was WONDERFUL...

Stunning video and picture quality
I've been shooting for more than 12 years with Nikon and Canon cameras and I gotta tell you that this camera is a must-have for videographers and photographers. What really shines about this camera is the build quality, and high ISO low noise capability, not to mention the continuous focus it has that most cameras can't achieve. Gone with those days of blinding people with lights when shooting video. The best part is the price and feature for you... Show More

Additional Comments Sony A7iii
Don't be discouraged by the pre-order notice. I ordered on Jun 5 and got mine on the 28th. While waiting, I played with the one at Best Buy. I wanted a mirrorless but none previously matched my Canon 5D III, 5D IV, or 5Ds until this one. This camera IQ is comparable to all of them and I wasn't disappointed. The other day, I blew up a waterfall picture and all was still sharp. Keep in mind that the 50 megapixel Canon would probably be a bit sharpe... Show More

Amazing Camera
Amazing camera, best in class performance at an awesome price. Not including a charger knocks down 2 stars. That is incredibly cheap, but these things sell like crazy so Sony probably doesn't care...

SONY
very sharp pictures. fast & accurate focusing with 93% of screen sharp. The lens is very good and imo sharper than 24-70mm L lens from another brand. Switch from the other brand cause pics are sharper. Using an adapter, all the other brand lens work find. Lots of options to customize menu and most used items on menu to the 4 custom buttons. Would recommend highly.
