Shure PGA98H-XLR Clip-On Cardioid Condenser Horn Mic with Inline Preamp and Cable (15')

XLR housing larger than standard size

I already own the step-up version of this, the Shure Beta 98h/c. It terminates to XLR and plugs directly into the stage snake/mixer/interface, etc. When I bought this, I assumed it would be the same, but it's not. The XLR attached at the end of this cable has such a thick metal wall that I can't plug it directly into any console or receiver - I have to connect it first to another XLR cable (included in the box). Other than that somewhat terrible ... Show Moredesign flaw, the mic feels solidly built. I bought this knowing that it's probably going to get more of a rough treatment, being on the road, than the one I take good care of at home. This feels like it will be able to take it.Show Less
