I researched by reading the negative reviews on Amazon to see the shortcomings. Most of them centered on the TV forcing u to use the smart apps every time u turn it on and it just becomes annoying. Also I wasnt sure if 4K at only 50 inches is noticeable. And I was pleasantly surprised that the smart features are easy to disable. I did not even set up wifi for the tv. Great TV for DJs / Monograms.
Great TV for DJs and VJs who like to present monogram or video mixing to there setup. Mount racked on Glo Totems and it looks beautiful yet light.

Great TV for the price, One possible issue
For barely over $300, this is a perfect TV for a bedroom. I upgraded to this Smart tv from a non-smart and have Samsung Bluray players and a Samsung 75 TV in the Living room. Part of the reason I went from a 32 to this 43 is my bad eyesight. I'm happy with the picture and couldn't expect much better again for the price. Ads cut off/ cut in
Sooo I've had this TV for 5 days. The second I plugged it in I noticed that the ads cut off the last few seconds of the show- EVERY TIME a commercial break comes on! Awful. Then something else started happening- 4 times already the ads themselves have gotten stuck mid-ad and are not responsive to any of the buttons, there's no way to restart. Good - but somewhat disappointing
I'm satisfied but not thrilled with this Samsung. It is replacing a 9 yr old Samsung. This is first Smart TV & I have found it difficult, especially working with a TV provider. As others have noted, the stand is disappointing. The color seems dark & so far I haven't been able to correct that. The best view has to be straight on as from the side, the color fades & the picture is just not as good. The sound is ok, but not great. I may need a sound bar.

Wonderful picture clarity
Very happy with my decision to purchase the Samsung 700 series 43 inch TV. The picture clarity is amazing. My only negative (slightly) comment is voice quality with the set which I find is common in these flat screen TVs

Very Narrow Viewing Angle
The viewing angle is not suitably wide for our living area. Our older Samsung TV has an excellent viewing angle. We are giving the new one to our son and keeping our old one.

Unable to stream content from NAS drive
Picture quality is great. However when streaming content from my NAS the picture freezes after about 20 minutes. Checked the bandwidth and it was 59.6 Mbps which is an order of magnitude more than what should be needed for the HD content I was streaming. The same content streams flawlessly to my 7150 series TV. Tried resetting the TV but the problem persists. This one will be going back if I can't get the streaming to work.

Multi-plus, mini-minus, and a suggestion
I just bought this as a second TV, so I can have one upstairs and one downstairs. Image is awesome, and I love the line. However ... we HATE the remote that comes with it. It's powerful, perhaps too powerful. We probably need one of our 10 year old grandsons to use it for us. Our solution (discovered by accident) was to use a somewhat old-school Samsung remote (it uses the same code, but has LOTS of buttons for us Boomers), and is still available as an accessory (we stocked up on several, from Amazon). You might also consider a universal remote, but you have to find the code yourself.

I know that there are several that have left not so favorable reviews, but I decided to buy this TV anyway just because it was a very reasonable price and had all of the options that I needed in a TV. less than i had hoped for
the picture and the sound are good. however there are not any options to make any screen size adjustments as i have and my other TVs. while watching football for example the banner info at the bottom of the screen is hidden and you can't make any up or down adjustments to the screen size to improve the situation. (you can't see the score, time clock etc.) the only real screen option is 16:9 and what you see is what you've got. no zoom, wide screen or anything. i probably would have looked elsewhere if i had known this. i really don't know what the deal is with all this.

The picture on this TV (55 RU7100) is bright and clear even from wide viewing angles and the black levels are nice and dark.
