Better than expected!!!
After reading several reviews I thought I would drop a few dollars on this nift fifty (by G7 standards). I am so glad I did and can't believe I didn't do it earlier. Magnificent clarity and very fast focus. No-brained purchase for those who don't have it yet.

Very fast AF on e-p3
My first mft lens and it has very fast auto focus on the Olympus e-p3. The negative is that it's too long to fit my camera and the lens in my pocket.

Sharpness and Len Speed a Real Asset
The kit lens with the G7 does a nice job when there's ample light. The Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 lens opens the door to new possibilties in less than idea conditions. I've been photographing time lapse of moonflowers which open just after the sun sets. The sharpness and speed of this lens allows me to use a reasonable ISO of 800 and have the ability to capture the entire process of the flower blossoming in fading light. It's speed allows me to use fast ... Show More

I LOVE THIS LENS
I love this paired with my lumix g7.I have been shooting with this and the 14-42mm kit lens and it's 1.7f comes in handy when creating lively perspectives.Great for low light.I shoot mostly indoors and portraits but I pushed it to do landscapes and I felt it was decent for what I was going for.

Gets the job done at 1.7
Great lens for the price. Just like everyone else says. Good auto focus and good build for the price.

Nice lens. Great price.
Nice lens. Great price. I've read some reviews indicating that the manual focus control is overly sensitive. I have not found this to be an issue. It's very intuitive and easy to adjust with one finger. That said the auto focus is fantastic so I don't use the manual very often.

Great lens at a great price.
it is a great lens for the price. I use it with my Lumix Camera to take photos indoors w/o a flash. good results even at F1.7.

Lives on my camera
Got this when i got an Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II.Lightweight, relatively compact, smooth quick precise auto-focus, VERY sharp. Coupled with the in-camera IS, fantastically sharp hand-held. Ran into another photographer one day; we both took snapshots of one another. Zoom in on the shot i took of him from about 5' and you can see the edges on his contact lenses. Hand held. That's pretty good, especially on a M4/3 16mp camera. (Don't want to post p... Show More

MFT now has TWO nifty-fifty's to choose from.
I bought my copy when it was released at introductory holiday pricing. I was considering the Oly 1.8 but at $99USD, the Panny was kind of a no-brainer. 25cm closest focusing distance and whisper-quiet AF. Comes with a lens hood, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm no measurebator and couldn't care less about MTF charts but in my experience, you rarely have to stop down past f/2.8 to achieve reasonable sharpness across the entire frame. Bokeh i... Show More

Super deal, super light, super focus, super sharp
This lens when first released was 60 percent off list price and I thought...hmmm maybe I'll wait. Price went back up to list for about a year and just recently it was offered for 40 percent off list. So this time...done! Had to have it. It is super light, focus is super quick and is super sharp. Did I mention it is a super deal? Nice to have a low light lens for those indoor family gatherings where you want to get nice shots of folks. Lens is great for indoor video too. Enjoy!

Great lens, a must have for anyone. Would buy again.
I love this thing. Small, light weight and buttery smooth shallow depth of field, (the reason I bought it). It is a fixed focal length, so it is limited in it's use. But I love it. Now I just need a long lens to round out the kit and I'm good. I purchased primarily for video, (4k with the Panasonic DMC G7), but I'm finding that I am shooting more stills than expected too.

Would certainly buy this again !
Used on my wife's Olympus E-PM2. She never uses the zooming capacity of its original kit lens. This lens is much more useful in that framework. Performs very nicely and the price was very good too.

My Secret Weapon
This is the Canon Nifty 50mm of Panasonic LUMIX! I don't know what took me so long to get it. A light-weight, small lens with beautiful bokeh. I've never been more satisfied with a lens before in all my life. You cannot beat the price for what you're getting with this guy.

Beyond of what I expected
Regarding its size and plastic material, this little lens does great imaging. Amazing sharpness. Fast focusing. I would recommend this lens as a must for any MFT enthusiast or emerging professional.

Fantastic Pictures but ....
Pictures were perfect - lens was not - build quality poor. Grinding noise in both AF and MF. Returned it within a few hours - (many thanks to B&H for such awesome service) - and bought the Panasonic Leica 25 1.4.

An OK lens.
I have a G7 and wanted an equivalent 50mm for a light weight carry around combo so I purchased this 25mm f1.7. I have the 14-140mm, the 30mm f2.8 macro, and the 42.5mm f1.7. All three have IS the 25mm does not. The sharpness and build quality of the 25mm is good enough for the price I paid but the other three lenses are better lenses. I would not pay full price for the 25mm. Panasonic could have done better on this one especially for the MSRP they are asking.

Great first prime.
What a fantastic lens! Makes 16MP photos on micro 4/3 platform look sharp! Plastic yes, but metal mount. Lens hood is a plus, I wear it all the time either backwards in storage mode or in use as it protects the lens. Would recommend as your very first prime. No IS though, so be careful not to set your expectations too high if you shoot handheld footage while shaking around in pitch darkness :)

The best
I bought this lens for low-light work, and it's simply superb. Fast focusing, and tack sharp edge to edge even wide open at f/1.7. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Images great but .....
Made a few test images - sharp, rich - very happy with the sharpness and quality. However the lens made to much noise (scraping sound) when focusing on both mf and af settings. So I returned the lens to B&H. And I want to thank B&H for making the return processes fast and easy. I could not ask for better service. Ended up purchasing the Leica DG 25 1.4.

great lens (on gh4)
it looks cheap and unappealing but it really is a great lens for the money, i shoot concerts and its a great addition. fast, great in low light. stills and video are clear and crisp. for 250 its an absolute steal of a lens. if i could change one thing about it it would simply be its physical design, it looks like you got it out of a happy meal because of the plastic but if it does the job, who cares.

Lovely lens
Great lens, very fast AF on LUMIX G7, great nice sharp results, lovely Bokeh, lightweight. On critical note I'd say that sometimes the 50mm FOV is too narrow for street photography and I'd revert to the 37.5mm prime.

Good Lens
Some people find this focal length boring, but I don't. It can be used on the street, zone focused with no hesitation, just frame quickly and shoot at F11-16 (yeah diffraction but it's OK 'cause to begin with the lens is sharp) Or to isolate background it focuses very fast on my Oly bodies at lower F stops, and to top it off it is great in low light, sharp wide open. I got it from B&H on sale, but to be honest the cost doesn't matter. It may not be the Panasonic Leica 25mm 1.4 but it's a darned good lens at any price.
