A real camera
Fantastic camera. Leica lenses are brilliant and can't be beat. Took it to Uganda and Rwanda recently and left the big guy with multiple lenses at home.

Love it so far!
I've only had the camera for about 10 days, so I'm just learning how to use it and the what all the features are. I am a very amateur photographer, so have not delved into a lot of the manual options. That said, there is a lot of control for an experienced photographer, as well as great pictures out of the gate on the automatic settings. Image quality is awesome. It connected easily to my MacBook Pro (wired or wireless) and my iPad (wireless). Bought it for the telephoto feature which was great at the Phillies-Braves game yesterday.

Perfect Travel Camera
I needed a small travel camera, and wanted at least a 1 sensor and long zoom. The ZS100 has both, and I was surprised at the excellent image quality in both still pics and videos. To learn all of its features takes some reading, but one can simply put it on Intelligent Auto and take great pics without any learning curve. I like this camera! Attached photo taken with ZS100, in low natural light, no flash.

Very difficult
Very confusing to navigate on line manual. No help available directly or tutorial either through B&H or Panasonic. They just say look on U Tube.

Defective product with terrible service
I bought this camera in May and it immediately had problems: it would seize up when the zoom was extended..I foolishly thought this was a glitch that would correct with new firmware. Two days into my vacation in Europe it seized permanently and that was that! Since then it's been in service in Texas and it's now almost September and it's about to miss another trip...after it was fixed it was shipped to the wrong address (they didn't realize Canad... Top Dog
I settled on the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 after weeks of research on the incredible number and varieties of cameras available. My choice came down to portability, features, reviews, and price. I also love the weight and color of silver-red. I am so pleased by my selection. The camera is above my beginner level but with the additional assistance of an Amazon photographer's guide book on this camera I am on my road to fabulous shots and fun. This was a gift to myself for my 65th birthday.

Better Than I Expected
I would describe myself as an amateur enthusiast. I have owned many cameras from intsamatics to DSLRs over the many years I have enjoyed this hobby. I also have the Panasonic FZ1000 but I wanted something smaller to carry around on a daily basis or to use as a supplement when I travel. The ZS 100 fits the bill perfectly: 1 sensor, same menu structure, same features, excellent 10x zoom. I have used the camera extensively since receiving it and I a... Show More

Perfect travel companion
Bought the Lumix DMC-ZS100 for a vacation where I did not want to lug around my D810 and host of lenses. Critical to my purchase was lens speed, sharpness, and length. The ZS100 met and exceed all of my criteria. I will need another vacation to figure out the full range of its capabilities - and it is a huge range. Basic functions of aperture and exposure adjustment were very easy to use and the custom image settings made for some remarkable scenes. Night portrait was really nice.

After comparing compact cameras, Canon G5x , Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III and the Panasonic Zs100, i have choosen ne the Zs100 from Panasonic Very nice and easy to use. Good features, the zoom is ok as i have no lenses to carry. This camera is for traveling and for a carry on camera for street photo when i do not carry my big outfit for photo expedition with tripod, lenses etc. I already have a D7100 Nikon for this purpose. Great Camera
I have a Cannon Reflex with 200mm tele and I was looking for a new point & shoot camera (small, lighter and with similar features of my rflex). The idea was to take both or the latter in my travelling photos. Indeed, I have to say that ZS-100 met my expectations and made me think that I do not care the Rflex for all trips. The Cons: the grip of the camera is not good (the tumb finger do not have an appropriate place on the back and I always press... Show More

Broken
On the second day of a month-long vacation to Europe this camera irreversibly jammed open and that was the end of it. It had threatened a few times to jam with the zoom extended but recovered before permanently jamming. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed since I had bought this camera specifically for this trip.

I'm happy in this new category
I have owned a number of superzoom cameras, but this time I asked for lots of advice. As a result, I moved sensor size, and RAW image access near the top of my list. I desired pocket size to the list, and could not give up on viewfinders. I considered all of the 1 sensor units on the market, and settled on the ZS100 with the agreement of my more experienced friends. I shot about 100 pics so far, and tweaked about 20 of them using RawTherapee, I a... Show More

Great overall camera
I am not a professional users by no means. I bought this to for travel and my new grandchild. My brother is however a professional and he is impressed. He has been comparing with his Nikon D series and Sony G15. He would like to see better than f2.8 and f5.9 but was surprised how well the pictures looked. Would like to have grips like the ZS50 to make it more stable. Will enjoy it for years!

Great performance with good reach in a pocketable package.
There are times and situations when you want great results and/or you need full manual controls, but with something that can fit inside a pocket. Up until now large sensor point-and-shoots had either limited zoom ranges or were so big one might as well be lugging around a full DSLR kit. This changes the game. I could do with an option to disable the touchscreen, though. I'm left-eye dominant and my nose ends up selecting the focus point when I hold my eye to the viewfinder, but that's the only drawback.

Great camera for active children
The 4 k burst mode allowed me to get great photos of my two year old which was too difficult to do with my iPhone. I own two older Panasonic lumix cameras that didn't have the touch screen. The controls on the camera in combination with the touch screen allowed me to everything I needed. The wifi direct to my iPhone worked great because you don't need to connect to network.

Excellent Travel P&S
I really like this little camera. A quick listing of pros and cons: Pros: Really sharp for a small camera 4k videos are really nice Excellent results from a non-obtrusive camera Solid build, but not too heavy Zoom range is very practical for the size Cons: No articulating screen ( I really would like to have this!) Buttons are a little small and recessed (but I have big hands so it's not really Panasonics fault on this one) Wish the aperture went... Show More

Panasonic ZS100 pocket 10x zoom bests Sony RX100 for travel
In 2016, the most portable 10x zoom on a 1-inch-Type sensor is Panasonic LUMIX ZS100 camera (11 oz, 25-250mm equivalent, 21mp). ZS100 is now my favorite camera which can fit a large shirt pocket. Although rival Sony RX100 version III is admittedly sharper throughout 3x zoom, Panasonic ZS100 focuses closer at more zoom settings and enormously extends optical telephoto reach. Anywhere from 3x to 10x zoom (70-250mm equivalent), the ZS100 easily beat... Show More

Great Camera partially spoiled by a soft lens
The camera has amazing potential but is held back by the soft lens. I get picky about this and now wish I bough the Stylus 1s. While that camera only had a 1.7 12 megapixel sensor it's lens was amazing. I wanted to try them both before buying but a family event pushed up my decision. I won't sell this camera. It's still an outstanding camera.

Great so far....
Did some macro out hiking and the photos were fantastic. Touch screen focus point worked like a charm. Took to a graduation in an indoor arena and the high ISO shots were good thru ISO 3200. Auto white balance did a great job the different lighting conditions. Will take a while to learn all the features but so far this camera is terrific. Only con is that at 250mm the lens is slightly soft, but you can't have everything in a travel camera.

Love it
Love the leica zoom lens. I bought it to supplement my iphone which I capture my images on. I needed a zoom lens so this appealed to me. The viewfinder not too good but the rest of the camera compensates. You can charge the battery directly in the camera or take advantage of the travel pact offered at a bonus now for a limited rime.
