Software will Downscaling 4k to 1080P
Just tested out the 4K resolution it is beautiful. Also don't be looking for software to downscale the 4K to 1080p, it came with the camera from Panasonic! Now I run the 4K through the panasonic software and it gives me a separate 1080 file with sharp video to place on my timeline. No need to get a new computer or software, to edit at 1080. I use my old Pinnacle 14 which I'm use to. I'll wait for 4K blu-ray burners to produce, before I upgrade.

Awesome GH3 Upgrade
Image quality is amazing, shooting in 4k changes the way we structure our productions for the better. Also, we used to shoot primarily on the GH3 and this camera is so similar in size and operation that we didn't have to change anything else in our workflow! I have had no problems and have been shooting Lumix since the GH2 and they have always been such solid cameras with no major problems for operation. It is reliable, and I can trust that.

Astonishing, more than expected!
One heck of a camera, there's nothing I can really criticise other than there is some macro blocking in 4K but not enough to be noticeable unless really pushed in grading. Solid build, all the buttons and wheels are well placed, and image quality in 4k is absolutely astonishing for a camera of this price. Looking forward to seeing even more awesome footage with V-Log as it will give the camera more dynamic range. Awesome price of equipment.

Incredible 4K DCI for Digital Film
I purchased this camera for my MFA in Film and was still debating a Sony A7s right up until the VLog firmware update shipped. I am shooting with the GH4, and then applying the Vericam 35 LUT to the VLog footage. The color is stunning and stands out when we share footage in class. I'm sure the Sony's full-frame would offer more range, especially in low-light, but the results I'm getting are wowing classmates with much more expensive gear.

Underwater Videographer first impression
I am an underwater videographer/photographer and have been waiting for a compact 4K camera like the GH 4. I also wanted the ability to do some slow motion and the 96 fps of the GH 4 delivers. Having a slew of different frame rates and codec options this is an incredible camera for $. Be sure to check my video page on vimeo as I will have some underwater footage posted up over the next couple months. Vimeo user name is rusty sanoian

WORKHORSE
22 Days in the Amazon Forest, 3 Days in the California Sun, 2 Snow storms in DC. This camera has earned its place in my heart. Add a speedbooster and it makes up for the ISO performance. I have never had it overheat, Never Shut down, never failed to record. I have used the YAGH to live stream via SDI to a Blackmagic Mixer for over 4 hours. This camera alone has made me reconsider my canon loyalty. I will definitely get the GH5.

Sold all my Canon gear
After 25 years of owning a retail studio and carrying big gear I closed my studio. One effect of shooting for so long is a case of tennis elbow. So I wanted to go lighter. And I love how light it is. The video, even just 1080p on MP4 is so much sharper than my Canon 5D Mark III. This produces great stills and I can shoot 2x3 or 16x9 or my new favorite - 4x3 ratio. The manual is not as good as Canon's - no index in the back.

4K for $, can't beat that
Great stills camera, phenomenal video camera with a pretty huge feature set. The 4K is gives you great detail and lots of room in post production if you exporting in 1080p. Coming from a 5Dmk3, I love how small the GH4 is, I can fit lenses in my pockets and cary around the camera. Battery will last you a day worth of shooting. Over all great camera if your priority is video but you still need the ability to shoot pictures

Everything you hoped it would be...
I primarily shoot video but needed a budget camera that would allow for interchangeable lenses. The GH4 is everything you'd want for low-budget and event shooting. With the proper lenses and rigging, the high quality is nearly indistinguishable from a dedicated video camera, prosumer or otherwise. The flexibility and improvements on this model after having relied on the GH2 for so many years are greatly appreciated.

tiny issues, but they are trumped
For someone looking to build a camera rig for low budget cinematic applications like short films, events, interviews, etc. this thing is awesome. so much is right with this camera I'm only going to mention the negative things. Switching from video to stills is a little slow. crop factors and sharpness change pretty drastically depending on video settings. firmare is a little full, and not great for quick changes.

GREAT camera.
You really can't beat the GH4 at this price point. The camera features and ability to shoot internal 4k make it the unquestionable favorite for DSLR video below $2k. In addition to production, we use it in a live multi-cam setup using and ATEM and stream to the internet. My only feedback for Panasonic/BlackMagic would be that I wish I could get the ATEM to accept the feed in .mov recording, rather than AVCHD.

Amazing quality for a great price
Shooting 4k at an affordable price was my main draw to this camera. But after getting it, I can say that the ease of use is amazing and intuitive, the picture quality is perfect, and the mobility is a big plus. Adding other lenses is easy, just pick up adapters and you can put anything you want on it. Slow motion at 96fps is a must (full HD) and this camera has it. Can't say enough how much I recommend it.

Great camera but the resolution
I was super excited to get this camera for the 4K video feature but once I filmed with the camera, I was impressed by the resolution. I just feel that if I'm filming in 4K then I want to film on a camera that has better clarity. As for use as a photo camera, it's great! I did a photoshoot with it and really liked it. My verdict: I'm returning it and paying a little extra to get the Canon 5D Mark iii.

Excellent Camera so far...
I will be using this as a second camera (upgrading from a 7D) to match my C100. So far I love the dynamic range. Coming from a Canon the menu systems are confusing but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Also, the body is a lot lighter and feels less rugged than the 7D. 4K is beautiful and the image is nice and crisp (major step up from the 7D) and once color graded it will match my C100 very well.

Love It
After filming some friends I left this camera outside on a tripod. Yep, 4 hours later it was pouring rain and an hour after that is when I realized. It literally could not rain have been raining harder and this camera and 35-100 2.8 sat out there completely exposed for almost an hour. Damage? None. If anything the camera and lens are cleaner. 100% true. Now I'm half tempted to take it underwater.

Really digging this camera
I own a Blackmagic and a 5D - and this GH4 is the perfect addition to the team. I'm shooting a doc so there's something to having a camera that is ready to go at the drop of a hat. It powers up SO fast. And the dial up top makes it more nimble than the 5D. Of course it would have been great if it was full size sensor but for the price and for the quality of the footage this camera is perfect.

Very Impressive!!! Highly Recommend!
I'm a Consumer photographer who buys high quality cameras to produce the best quality photos based on my limited abilities. I purchased this camera based of the 4K video capability. I was Blown Away by how detailed the videos are compared to the highest quality 1080p videos recorded by the same camera. The ability to pull 8mp photos from 4K Videos is a Game Changer for photography in General.

Really great camera - awesome colors
I've been using the GH4 for a while now. I highly recommend it as it is indeed an awesome video camera. 96fps 1080p video sure is awesome and fun. I'm very happy with the colors the camera gives and also how compact it is of course. The only downside I would say is perhaps the low light abilities, going over 2,500-3,200ISO just gives a really bad image. For it's price it's absolutely amazing!

The must have Camera to have
There is not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I bought this as an upgrade from my GH2. For only $$ I get 4x resolution, color and FPS. I use a Rokinon 16mm with this and it shoots great video. Looking to upgrade to a Metabones Speedbooster and Rokinon 25mm 1.5T in future. I think this combo will help with depth of field and boken. Regardless this is a must have to Indie Filmers.

Great bang for the buck. Great camera!!
I've been using this camera mostly for HD music video shoots. Recently I have been outputting 4K 10 bit 422 to a Atomos Shogun as a B camera along with a Canon C300 MKII. While the Cine V log footage is a different flavor from the Canon Log the ability to grade these two shots is a big plus. A great investment. I have earned my investment back several times with this little workhorse.

Great value. Great for Video.
I bought the Gh4 to step up from a Canon T3i. And it was everything and more than I expected. This camera packs a big punch, and it's smaller than Canon Rebel cameras. 4K images look amazing. I can't say enough good things about the Gh4. The only thing that is average or possibly below average is that it's low light features are not the greatest. But that is not a deal breaker.

Amazing Camera!
Amazing camera. I bought it as an upgrade because I had mainly been shooting my video on a T3i. I can finally step up my production to a new level. I also enjoy taking pictures with it. UI could be organized better especially because of all the features offered on the camera. I am still confused on how to turn off the automatic exposure compensation while in live view as well.

One of the best
Already owned the GH3. Am not shooting video mainly stills and i bought this because of the improved AF, Viewfinder/LCD and Focus Peaking. Loved the GH3. This now even better. I believe this to be one of the best handling cameras on the planet. Everything is on the right place. I own a Canon5dMk3 and a 6 D as well as a D800 and take this one over the other 3 90% of the time.

Love this camera!!
I have been a m43 user since I bought my first GH1 in July 2010. I own two GH1s, one GH3 and now a GH4. There has always been an obvious video quality compromise when I shot with my hacked GH1 and my GH3. The GH3 is an excellent hybrid camera, but the GH4 is a true professional video capture device. I'm completely blown away by how easy it is to capture high IQ video.
