A Terrific Camera
This is a fantastic camera - while I have only recently purchased it, I have been playing with it for a week or so and I find it to be a great purchase. The image quality is great as usual (Panasonic) and the controls are easy to use - especially as I am a long time user of the AG-DVC30 DVC60 and DVX100B cameras. Its low-light capability is great as is its ability to increase gain in 1 db increments to a relatively huge level. The only criticism ... Show More

Excellent quality video
I'm a freelance videographer working on small to medium projects, my clients can't afford C700's or REDS, etc. and the UX180 is a great addition to my tools given my budget. I currently use DSLR's with Canon glass shooting 1080. This is my first real 4K camera and I'm very pleased. What drove me to this model was the 4K, sensor size 120fps and more than 30 min record time. I did a 1080 test with my 70D and Canon 35mm 1.4 and the UX180 at 1080 and... Show More

Great camera!!!
Just started playing with it a few days ago, but so far I cannot see any downside. So glad I upgraded when I did from the SD Panasonic cams (AG-DVC30, 60 and DVX-100B) to go full HD for my live webcasting business. The image quality is great as usual - as is the low-light capability. The manual controls are well placed and are familiar enough for me to switch from the other cams to this one - and of course, the camera looks professional to reassu... Show More

Great value for the cost
If you are a Panasonic shooter there is a certain comfort level in picking up a camera like the UX-180 and finding that the overall design philosophy allows you to start using the camera rapidly. However, beneath the familiar exterior are some extremely powerful features that you will struggle to master without reading the manual. Also, take advantage of the free download Panasonic is offering of Barry Green's book on the UX- 180. The Barry Green... Show More

Fine camera, but not what we needed
I'm currently a contract employee at a very small PBS station. I have my own PanasonicAG-HMC150 AVCCAM Camcorder that I use for station shoots. The station wanted to buy a second camera for 2-camera shoots. I live-chatted with the specialists to find a current camera that would be most compatible with mine. I took their advice and the station ordered the AG-UX180. It is not really compatible with theAG-HMC150. I think a usedAG-HMC150 would have b... Show More

Satisfied
I bought this camera as an upgrade from My AG 90. I like the fact that it is similar in some of the controls like the audio and menu. I also like the wide lens that comes with the camera and the increased Zoom capacity. At first I did not like that the two XLR inputs were in two different places on the camera. After using it a while it doesn't seem to be an issue now. The camera is significantly heavier then the AG 90 and I experienced arm fatigu... Show More

Nice upgrade from DSLR
I purchased this to upgrade from a DSLR package to have 4K and an integrated system. It doesnt weigh much more than my DSLR system once all the components were assembed (7D Mk II, 70-300 zoom, D70 audio recorder, AT shotgun, and camera battery grip). But this is much easier to wield run and gun. And it balances better in my hand than the DSLR. Best is the image quality. The eagles in the pics were 1/2 mile away. The car in the 2nd pic was a mile ... Show More

The best 4K camcorder out there right now.
Just bought this and used it a few times. This 4k camcorder has everything you need except 4:2:2 color space internal recording which some TV station may require. 16x zoom from 24mm equivalent covers pretty much everything you want. Autofocus is fast and accurate you can leave the camera in auto focus mode all the time with confidence. Monitor and viewfinder is high resolution and easy to see focus. Dual SD card slot is great for simultaneous rec... Show More

Run and gun.
Been using this for a month or so, it's a pretty nice package depending on Your intended usage. I'm not a filmmaker so I don't need a cinematic camera and I don't think this one would fit that role. However, if You need an easy to operate, grab and go camera this might be a good choice. It has lots of features (I'm not going to list them all because I'm lazy) I do like the fact that I can jump out of the van, do a quick white balance and shoot. D... Show More

You'll be glad you bought this
Where to start. This camcorder is fantastic for the price. The image quality is fantastic and the auto focus is amazing for run and gun type stuff. It also has a plethora of easy to access manual options that will satisfy the professionals. For what it is, the camera is pretty light and easy for hand held use. Really, if you are in the market for something like this and would like something that is a little more future proof than the competition,... Show More

Awesome Camcorder for the money!
I just started using my new AG-UX90 camcorder last week for 4 days of video depositions. Besides the learning curve for a new HD camera, it performed flawlessly! Going from an older tape-based system (Panasonic AG-100) this was a dream! No more tapes to change, a full day of recording on one SD card, familiar features and buttons from the old camera, the list goes on. The only feature I would like to see added would be the ability to record direc... Show More

A Good Entry-Level 4K Pro Camera
Disclaimer: I've been using Panasonic gear for 15 years, and I'm a bit biased. Having said that, the UX90 offers great picture quality, a good zoom range, and decent low light capability. I've found that it's about 2 stops darker than my AC130A, and about 1 stop darker than my HMC150s. However, the gain is very clean, and I have no issues pushing to 12dB. I will very likely pick up the UX180 later this year to supplement this camera, as the zoom is longer, and the camera has SDI output rather than HDMI. Other than that, I'm very happy with the UX90.

Great camera, but
So i have 3 of these cameras i use for live video mutli cam. They perform great and have great picture quality. But if you have any issues, like i did with one of them and ut is past warrnty and it has to do with the lens, it gets tricky. Panasonic quoted me at $2100 to replace the lens unit cause it is all in one. Its crazy cause thats more then the camera is worth. So i storngly recommend SquareTrade for 3 or 4 year. They will cover all that for way way way cheeper and less hassle. Other then that its a really good camera!

Excellent 4K Picture - great flexibility
This is the second one of these I've owned, as I dropped mine accidentally off a 12' riser and tripod. I jumped at getting a second one. The picture is wonderful, there is lots of flexibility in manual settings, and I make use of the dual codec feature with the 2 SD card setup. I probably don't make total use of customization - just a few tweeks, and I have great video. I use an external stereo microphone, but the internal mic is good for ad inboard surround sound mic.

It does everything well.
4k, 20x zoom, SDI out, reliable LCD monitor, reliable auto focus, I like them all on this camcorder. It's a great event coverage 4k camcorder. Price is good too. Picture quality is good, but not as good as micro 4/3 GH4 etc because of smaller sensor on this camera, but for event coverage, this is much more convenient and easier to use because of XLR input and great auto focus. The biggest battery lasts like 5hrs on this camcorder and that's great too.

Love this camera
I've been shooting a series on DSLRs. They are great but have their limitations. Decided to buy this camera for a couple of reasons. I use it with an external monitor, so I don't have to deal with the poor quality LCD or the ridiculous eyepiece. I shoot in a situation where things get done too fast. Sometimes I need to depend on auto focus. This camera has a great auto focus. The supplied battery lasts quite a long time. Very happy with this camera.

Great camera, terrible LCD viewfinder
I use this camera for ENG at a local news station in Philadelphia. The camera has done everything I needed it to do. No problems except the LCD Viewfinder. It is terrible while using it in the daylight. I bought a viewfinder cover but that didn't help either. You have to use the eye piece to see anything. Another problem with the viewfinder is you cant turn it so you can see it from the side. Its either in front or the back, but no side view.

LCD COULD BE A DEALBREAKER.
It looks like the geniuses at Panasonic went out of their way to create a screen that is completely unusable outdoors. A better choice of terms would be to call it a mirror, making it virtually useless outside. Forget adding a hood....more appropriately would be to wear dark clothing and paint your face with black ink before you could begin to see the LCD screen outside. Even then you are waisting your time.

Better than I expected
I bought this camera as a downgrade from an FS7 due to a mix in my work back towards still work. However, when I compare the results of this camera to the FS7, I have a hard time distinguishing the video. Obviously this doesn't offer as many framerates and cannot output RAW, but for 10% the cost of a complete FS7 rig, it's pretty darn amazing. Low light performance is actually better in my opinion.

Loving it so far
I havent had this camera long, but love it so far. I bought this as a second camera, but I have to say it will probably become my number one camera. Nice images, and once I learn the details about it, Ill probably be enjoying it more. I love that you can choose formats (such as AVCHD and MOV). Im a big fan of Panasonics. Cameras that turn out pro-looking images at an affordable price.

My purchase of the Panasonic UX-180
I have had t out two times now. I have to say from the start that it is a bit on the built side cheap feel. It is very lite but to me if feels like it was made of plastic. I am coming from a Sony world so a more rugged camera would feel better in my hands. The picture is very clean and audio recorded great. I still need to edit the content.

Problem...
I have 2 cameras Panasonic AG uh90. Purchased before 1 month. One of them, the fifth usage showed me a problem. It blocks all camera and monitor flickers. I am very disappointed and I regret that I bought 2 cameras. I'll complain to the dealer, so we'll see how it is ... The lens does not work, does not produce an image on the display
