I bought this audio interface because of its DSP and internal matrix routing of audio streams, coupled with its small footprint. In the age of corona, the mixer lets me use stereo sends from a FireTV, 3.5mm aux cord, and condenser microphones and create one audio feed for livestreaming, all in hardware. The benefit of this device over a PC solution is 1/ it continues to mix when the PC is disconnected 2/ it has multiple IO connections (1/4, XLR, and even S/PDIF via the optical port) 3/ I can switch between different laptops and maintain my routing and mix. On Mac, I had to buy a license for a piece of software called Loopback to get full control of routing to and from the MOTU (Loopbac is not affiliated with MOTU), such as for sending a mic-only mix or receiving a stereo Spotify stream. ...
