1/2-2 year life

Nov 11, 2014

This is the only mouse I use. I love it, but after a while, wear and tear set in. Excesive left clicks can wear down the button and cause cease of funtion. I've gone through 5 of these so far within the years, and next one is about to go. If it was alot more durable it'd be the best thing.

Nice mouse...

1st trackball mouse I've bought and owned. Made a wise investment! Love it already. Plugged it in, and was off to the races. Music guys using a computer need this joint.

The One to Try First

Apr 29, 2014

I've never liked mice. I always thought a trackball was the solution for me, but by the time I bought my first computer, trackballs weren't very popular. At that time the first one I could get my hands on was the Logitech Marble Mouse, and I have been using it and its successor (now called the Trackman Marble; B&H carries them) ever since. I have no problem with the Logitech Marble; my only complaint ever was that Logitech could have found a plac... Show More

A decent mouse for a decent price

Mar 12, 2014

I decided to buy this mouse to replace an old mouse that had started to die out on me after about 4 years of use. I prefer using a trackball, even for gaming, it's just more comfortable for me. I wanted a scroll rings since my previous mouse didn't have one, so this mouse caught my eye. The trackball itself is smooth, the mouse installed itself into the computer no problem. The scroll ring works great for browsing. If the mouse is used for simple... Show More

A lot less presition that with a mouse

Oct 14, 2013

Ive used this trackball for 10 days straight. I still dont have the same presition as I do with a regular $15 wireless mouse. The scroll ring is great but again, resolution/presition is not the same as in an optical mouse. Maybe I should have got the pro version...

Nifty trackball

May 9, 2013

This trackball is just the right size, and the 2 buttons are all I need. As a woman, I was specifically looking for a small sized trackball, and this is the one for me. Totally manageable and easy to integrate into your editing workflow, all you ladies looking for a trackball mouse? Get this one, hands down (no pun intended).

OK for the money.

Jan 21, 2013

Not the best, not the worst, but it does the job. The ball was binding a little at first, but has now loosened up a little; not as free-wheeling as I would like. Buttons are pretty touchy, it's easy to click them by accident. Scroll ring works pretty well.

nice, but issues

Sep 11, 2012

I like this tracball, but coming from the Turbo Mouse I find the larger ball on my older unit much nicer and more accurate. I DO prefer the 2 buttons over the 4 which were not really easy to use. I'm left handed and the software Kensington uses works well on my mac and is easy to switch if someone right handed wants to use it for a few minutes. I do have one issue with the Orbit and it's the scroll wheel is defective. Contacted Kensington and the... Show More

Great Trackball, great price!

Aug 9, 2012

I've been using trackballs for quite a while now, and this one definitely takes the cake when it comes to performance vs. price. I use it for dual-screen editing and am very please with the action, hand positioning and the scroll ring works great!

Earlier to Use Then I Thought

Aug 2, 2012

I orginally had a Microsoft Trackball that I loved dearly, but I can't find it anymore so I gave this Orbit Trackball a try and it was easier than I thought it would be to use, so I bought an extra this time to make sure I have another one incase I need it. I highly recommend this Trackball. Very Easy to Use!!!

Orbet Trackball

Have just upgraded to Mac Lion, and was told by Kensington that this would work. Well, it doesn't! They're trackball works software would not allow more that one button to be programmed... Not worth the money.

So far , so good

Jan 25, 2012

I have been using trackballs for 2 decades. It is obvious that technology has advanced on these devices. The Orbit Track bsll is simple to use, accurate and the scroll ring is useful and responsive. The service reliability and the competitive price of B&H photo make the purchase desition very easy.

Functional but not my favorite

Dec 29, 2011

This is my third Kensington mouse. I've owned 2 Turboballs, a style that is no longer available, and now the Orbit Trackball. My chiropractor first recommended the ball-type mouse to help solve a shoulder and upper back problem, plus elbow tendinitis. These problems went away after I switched to to a turboball. Unfortunately, my old Turboball will not work with my new computer. I liked the fit and feel of the Turboballs better under my hand- they... Show More

Good mouse alternative

May 16, 2011

I switched to using my mouse left handed to save my overworked right hand. When someone loaned me a track ball to try, I liked the reduced wrist motion and unlimited motion (you don't run off the pad and have to oar over to keep going). I was addicted to the scroll function, hard to find in left handed devices. This device has ambidextrous buttons and scroll. I have used it for over a week now, and learning has been quick. I don't feel as precise... Show More

enjoying this item

Mar 27, 2011

I am really enjoying this mouse. I am finding that the right and left click buttons fit my smallish hands. I also find the scroll ring easy to use. I am right handed, but use my mouse with my left hand so I can still write notes while mousing, but I can switch to the right if I need to. Great mouse, I would buy another and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Good for the wrist

Oct 20, 2010

I've always preferred trackballs to regular mice. I miss the 'chord' function of my older Orbit, but I got used the the scroll wheel quickly. I also like that it is an optical mouse, I expect it to last much longer than the older Orbit models I used.

Not for CAD

May 13, 2010

This trackball is ok. Has the basics if you want to use it in place of a general day to day mouse. I bought it for the use of Auto CAD and found it's not really good for that. In Auto CAD there's a lot of need to push the scroll wheel down and this ball does not have a 3rd button to do that. My other issue I have with it is the little wrist rest that comes with it. It's molded out of a firm vinyl plastic material and does not secure very well at all. It kind of hooks into a groove underneath the base itself but it never stays in place.

very comfortable ambidexterous trackball

Apr 30, 2010

Very satisfied with this purchase. The ball is large and comfortably operated with the palm. Scroll ring is also intuitive, and responsive, if a bit slow (haven't checked mouse settings yet - I assume this is a modifiable setting). I have also used the Logitech trackman pro, which is moved with the thumb, and locks one into right handed usage. I definitely feel the Kensington is more ergonomically friendly. Carpal tunnel concerns dissapear with this trackball. Like the wrist rest as well.
