Eartec CSSST Secret Service Style Headset for ComSTAR Systems

Comfortable But Too Quiet. Way Overpriced.

We've been using the EartecULPCYB Cyber Lightweight Backband Headset with our UltraPAKs, but I've seen torture devices that are far more comfortable than those. So, I thought I would give the SST Headset a try. First of all, it is a million times more comfortable and doesn't give me a headache whereas the ULPCYB would give me a headache in about 15 minutes. However, it is extremely quiet, way too quiet to be useful when working any kind of job ... Show Morethat has a band or orchestra playing. I have to smash the earpiece into my ear and cover both ears to be able to hear very well. The Push to Talk button does nothing and I still have to use the switch on the UltraPAK to mute or unmute the mic. The device might be worth about $15 and you can find a gazillion of these types of devices that only cost that much. Unfortunately, I could never find a generic version of this particular headset with the proper connection for the UltraPAK, so I had no reliable alternative I could try. All in all, I would probably still purchase this unit, just to avoid the headache the backband headset gives me (and everyone else on our tech crew). If I could figure out a way to make it louder, it would be a nice unit. But, for now, it's just so so.Show Less
