DJI Zenmuse X5S

I'm glad that I bought the X5S.
I use Nikon cameras. Currently my main camera is the 36 MP Nikon D 810. I compare all other cameras to it. The Zenmuse X5S comes close to matching the 810 in overall quality. Since I have used the X5S on my Inspire 2 only I'm not sure that a direct comparison is fair. However, I am very happy so far with the X5S and feel that it is a big improvement in resolution over the very good X5.

Various Gripes
Tested the camera and I am not happy with the compression in H264. Lot's of noise in low light, even at f1.7. I would have shot in Prores or RAW but unfortunately that's an additional $1,300 for the license of the codecs. Odd that this is so expensive when the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera includes both codecs and only costs $995. I feel like I'm dealing with ransomware.

Yes
The four stars are based on I'm using it on H.625 and H.624, I'm almost positive the raw / apple prores would be outstanding image quality. I am not really happy with the raw photos, I know I cannot compare the photo image to my Canon 5DSR but at the end of the day that's what I want, great image photo quality and it's just not there yet.

High quality aerial gear
Excellent camera, lens, and gimbal. Have only used h.264 codec even so the images are quite nice. Here is a link to some video of the bear mountain bridge i shot with no post color manipulation. https://youtu.be/_vV2VKpMios
