I got the 16GB RAM/512GB SSD model for basic computing. My first Mac of any kind. I purchased this laptop thinking that the speed would be phenomenal. The minute I opened it I felt promise, it was nice and sleek and new. Beware, facetime camera is NOT HD, looks grainy
I bought this new macbook air with high expectations and although for the most part Im happy with it, the quality of the facetime camera in low/normal light is totally unacceptable. With a heavy heart, I had to replace my 7-year-old Air as it was already on its last legs. Was deciding between this and the new Pro, but the price swayed me. I have a 2018 Mac Mini that I use as my primary computer but also needed something more portable. This MacBook Air fits the bill perfectly. It is easy to carry, runs a long time without being plugged in, and interoperates well with the Mini. I have used this new MacbookAir for about two weeks now, and so far its performed great. I have had a Macbook Pro for about four years now, and it has been great too. I love how light and portable this laptop is. The battery will last me up to 3 days on a single charge (depending how often I use it of course). I got the 128 gb model and I dont regret that, even though its not much storage because I store pretty much all my photos and important stuff in the cloud anyhow.
