Sony Studio Monitor Type Headphones

Best Headphones at a steal of a price
These are the best headphones I have ever owned. The sound is clean and crisp. The over the ear design works flawlessly and does a good job of cancelling out any outside noise (even though these aren't noise cancelling headphones). If you plan to use these on the go, just be aware that the cable is very long.

Great pair
These headphones are used in a TV control room and are great for checking the audio of programs that we record in our studios.

V6, No doubt!
I got these headphones for the home-recording purpose. These headphones perform perfect flat sound, not exaggerated. And these are much cheaper than other monitoring headphones. I can say these are the best headphones under $, possibly even under $ or $.I recommend these headphones for indoor.

Awesome!
Awesome! Can't believe I got them for $ US at B&H. Impressive sound quality, sounds better than a lot of more expensive headphones. I now understand why they are considered a studio standard. I'd add, this is a gold standard for any studio :)I use them with my Korg Kronos keyboard, with my computer to listen to music and in my studio. The sound will improve with use and reach its peak after 100hours of usage, approximatively.Only cons : wires near the headcuffs are exposed, but I heard people could keep them in good shape for 10+ yrs.

A Classic for a reason.
Best all around headphone you can buy, especially for the price.. Theres a reason sony has kept this studio headphone around for over more than a decade and thats because it works!! Forget the Gimmicks of todays marketing, go with the old of tried and true.

Heard nothing but great things...
These MDR-V6 headphones are fantastic studio or even field headphones. I borrowed a pair from a partner for about 6 months and finally got a pair for myself. Very durable, quality reproduction of sound and worth every penny. Don't plan on wearing them for more than an hour at a time if you have a big head like myself..They are a bit tight on my head.

Hear everything with these headphones
I use these headphones for editing video and while listening to music. Great range of sound and comfortable to wear.

Poor construction
Used in standard editing atmosphere and the occasional on-location or studio shoot, these headphones provide excellent balanced audio. However, like many (if not all) Sony headphones, the build quality is second-rate; the ear pads are poorly made. The inner seam separates exposing the foam, the outer edge wears out, and generally loosens over time causing it to slip and come off the headset. Plastic hinge holders easily snap or break from stress over time.

Excellent, top of the line headphones
I absolutely love these headphones. They are easy to drive, isolate well, and have great sound.

Great Headphones
These are great sounding decently priced headphones. I can't imagine paying any more or any less for another product. I use them mostly for listening to interviews for which they are fantastic.

MDR-V6 - Excellent Headphones
OK, The MDR V6 is an Excellent headphone and BHPhotovideo.com offered the best price I could find. The quality is superb, remember these headphones were introduced in 1985 as studio monitor headphones and Sony are still producing them today so they also maintian the original look/design. You wont be dissapointed - these headphones could have easily been priced at $. Excellent clear sound. Buy from BHPhotovideo.com and Enjoy. Cheers.

A Legendary Classic
I'm a studio engineer/producer/musician. I've had my MDR-V6 phones for over 20 years, and they still sound terrific. There are only two downsides (and these are both well-known shortcomings): The 1/8 to 1/4 plug adapter breaks too easilyusually after a few years if you use it often. Just get yourself a good plug adapter and that takes care of it. (The built-in 1/8 stereo mini-plug is rock-solid with good strain relief.) The ear pad covering e... Show More

Great Audio
I've been making beats for about 3 years and I needed a pair of headphones that played clean and crisp audio and had the right quality sound, these headphones reproduce perfect frequencies and give you an accurate feedback. Great buy

Outstanding Headphones
I got these for my wife to listen to her music. I did alot of research to make sure I was getting something that was sturdy and had good frequency range. They sound amazing, and are incredibly conforable. I will definately be getting a second pair for myself to use for mixing.

Great Headphones
These are the best headphones I've used for both video shoots and while editing. Sound quality is great, light weight and sold at a reasonable price. Only draw back, as with most headphones, is the wire can get tangled easily.

They get the job done and don't break
I like these because they do not have a bunch of plastic parts that break at the wrong times when I'm in the field recording audio. I wish there were a way to make a cord less bothersome, but until these are wireless, that's not going to happen. Great phones if you are a field person who puts hard use on your equipment.

Crystal Clear Sound and Noise Reduction
Best headphones out there that don't require batteries for noise reduction. Very happy with this purchase. The sound is so clear you would think you are listening to the artists in a quality recording studio. I'm hearing things I've never heard in songs I've completely memorized. Highly recommended

Great first set of real headphones
I use this product with MacBook Pros, iPhones and for Xbox gaming. These headphones are great for long periods of continued use. I cant think of anything wrong with them. Great purchase!

Better sound than hd280 and others
These cans sound insanely good, I really loved my hd280 pros but they are not as well made, do not feel as comfy and do not reproduce sound and music as accurately as these cans do. On top of all that, these v6s are TANKS, I have thrown them, traveled with them and they cannot be killed. Ear pads wear off and are hard to put on but thats a minor thing. Great bass impact and extension, great mids.

best headphones EVER!
I'm just your standard music lover that loves her music clean, crisp and clear when i put on a pair of headphones. I've owned this very headphone before and kept them for 10 years when they suddenly grew legs and walked away. (Someone took them-but i digress) to replace them i've had some suggestions of newer models and in my research i found those suggestions entirely over priced but went to various retailers to test drive them anyway. Good Quality
Use these for Location Sound Recording. Very comfortable on your ears - you can barely notice them. Wish they blocked out a little more sound, but overall still pretty good. Everything sounds full and clear. Comes with a little pouch and can be folded up for easier transport.

Great Buy
The sound out of these headphones is amazing. Bass is great, but overpowering. Everything from rap to classical sounds great. The headphones seem sturdy and should last. Overall great value.
