Super prime lens
This lens is fantastic. It's fast, super sharp, and very portable. Of special note is the exceptional bokeh. Thus far, I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Amazing Improvement Over Kit Lens
I'm a beginner. I admit that. But this lens changed things for me. The wide aperture allows for sharp pictures indoors or in poor light. I'm sure I still have a lot to learn, but this lens is helping me get the pictures I want.

Sony 35 mm f/1.8 E mount prime lens
Having this product for only three weeks, I used it to take portraits and love the results: brilliant color even in shade, great definition of the faces and sometimes the blurred background by using the auto intelligent mode. I have not used the SCN function for portrait and cannot wait to use it soon. I bought this lens also because of its fast 1.8 aperture and expect many uses in low light situations. I love this lens.

Excellent lens and service
This is a great high performance lens that delivers what you'd expect. Ordering and delivery from B&H were efficient and on time.

Great Lens
I use this lens with Sony a6000 and so happy with this lens, fast, sharp and light. Love it

Gorgeous photos
This lens is pricey, but worth it. Takes gorgeous photos in very low light with the Sony Nex-5T. The only lens I use on a regular basis.

Great first prime lens for Sony a6000
I use this with my Sony a6000. It's my go-to lens. It replaced my kit 16-50 mm zoom lens and is much sharper, quicker to focus. Would highly recommend for a first prime lens.

Pretty good for low light photography
We got this lens just before Halloween for our a6000 and I took it trick-or-treating with the kids (after dark, obviously; typical suburban Halloween, with lighting mostly from people's houses). With the lens wide open and shooting at ISO 16000 or so, I was able to get some pretty decent pictures even without flash; exposure times were on the order of 1/40 or 1/60. At smaller ISOs but longer exposure times I got some nice pictures of the adults i... Show More

a6000 glass
This is the glass I purchased immediately with my a6000 body. It's the prime I needed. Fast auto focus on this prime gives me some run and gun capability but is the right focal length for beautiful closeups. I shoot a lot of video and find this lens to be THE factor in achieving great video out of the NEX line of cameras.

Great Lens
Just started using this lens and so far everything is perfect. Great lens for the price.

beautiful, versatile
As a semi-newbie to photography, I love this prime lens. It's sharp, fast, and produces (to my eye) very please bokeh. I bought this in time for study abroad, and while I personally find it a bit of a pain to change lenses so that I can get wider landscape shots on my kit lens, this lens is great for those times when I want to take portraits of people and of people in front of landmarks. This captured some beautiful photos of my friends and I against certain Berlin landmarks at night during the city's Festival of Lights. Will be using it for a long time, I think!

Good Addition to Arsenal
Love this lens. I tend to shoot in prime most of the time and looking to add a good all round lens to my kit. This fit the bill.

Sharp, versatile lens
I'm completely new to the world of mirrorless and DSLR cameras, but I do own the kit lens, this, and the SEL50mmf18 as well. I find myself reaching for this one quite often, as the focal length is fairly versatile, while still producing great bokeh for portraits. Very happy!

Great all round lens
Needed a 30mm focal length lens for a general photography. This covers street and some portraits so a very versatile lens. f1.8 gives great bokeh and lowlight performance that other alternatives might not have. The only real competitor for this lens would be the Sigma 30 due to its value, but for a little more, you wouldn't ever need to upgrade in the 30mm range if you bought this lens. Outstanding sharpness and good images!

Great lens, okay value
The lens performs wonderfully. The IQ is good; the focusing speed is fast; it also focuses quietly, which is good for video (although my standard is low, coming from a Canon 50mm f1.8, which is noisy as hell). The only turnoff is the high price. I compared my copy against an SEL50F18 of my friend's. Here is my take, for whatever it's worth.Pros: 1) smaller and lighter than SEL50F18; 2) The focal length is friendlier to indoor shooting than the 50... Show More

Great in low light
Just shot a wedding rehearsal in a dimly lit Chapel. Did not want to use a flash to distract the participants. The Sony 35mm f/1.8 put out beautiful pictures. The wedding couple comments on how they look more natural than the profession photographers photos that were taken on the wedding day.

Great lens for the a6000
The image quality from this little lens is simply outstanding at all apertures. The sharpness, contrast, and color from the SEL35F18 are simply outstanding. The bokeh is pretty nice, but you have to either get fairly close to your subjects or have a fairly large distance between the objects in the field of view for the bokeh to really pop. I have not used this lens much indoors, yet, so I cannot say much about this focal length in tight spaces no... Show More

Great lens
I bought this lens, and used it for a whole and enjoyed it and got some great pictures out of it. However, I ended up returning it because I was using it primarily for indoor shots of my kids and the length of 35mm (FF=52mm) was not wide enough for most of my situations. If you are looking for this focal length though, I would recommend it. (I used it with A6000)

35mm f/1.8 OSS Alpha E-mount Prime Lens
I had bought this with my new A6000, it is a Sharp lens but despite the F1.8, I found it to be a less capable in low light. I am not sure if it is because the glass itself is so small in dia. or something else. The Emount options for lenses , in my opinion, is very limited. I ended returning my new A6000 and all the lenses I had bought.

Nice lens
I was reluctant to buy this because of the price, and when I got it I was thinking if I had made a mistake, after all, how often would I really use it? Anyway, the image quality has won me over. It is really a great lens. Sharp, super fast focus and very fast in low light. Still use the kit lens most often, but this is my goto low light lens.

Excellent lens
This objective is underestimated, for me it is the perfect lens for the Nex series. The only flaw is that the autofocus is difficult sometimes to control but I love the photos (and video) that I get with this little object.

Great indoor lens
I wanted an indoor lens and this one with f1.8 is a great fit. Coming from a DSLR you need to keep in mind that 35mm is really the same as the regular 50mm
